Power that was once Gone

The Pentoran's safe-guarded apartment. Five-stars from its quality, convenience, to its security. People who have loads of money will try to get into that building since the spike on criminal activity as fast as possible to get a room. Within four walls, it's hard for anyone to just break-in. But if they do, security personnel will respond before they could even climb down inside.

The apartment seemed so lax with gates that anyone can open and doors with zero guards posted. Yet, since it was built, there was never trouble.

However, on that day, the residence heard a scream. Security personnel responded in quick action as they got out of the backroom as if a convenient police station in itself inside the apartment building with monitors that shows what the tens of CCTV's were seeing.

On the fifth floor, the people in the neighboring room from the scream panicked as they peeked at the peephole, they saw nothing so they opened the doors to see a man and behind him, a teenage girl crying and shouting at him.

Seeing this gave filled them with a sense of duty to help the girl but soon, they noticed that there was a third person. He was being dragged by the man by his head as if he was weightless.

'Is that a dead body?' they thought and then heard;

"Dad, where will you take him?!" the girl seemed to be the daughter as she held her father tight on the leg yet ineffective as that father continued to walk, effortlessly dragging two people.

"So this is a family matter, huh? I shouldn't bother..." a man who was a father himself closed the door in the room [511]

"I'm sure the police will have to do something about this..."

Immediately, the police had prepared and took the elevator, they met Ernanfo who has a body on his hand.

"Drop the body!" three policemen pointed their guns at him in sync after the one in front shouted.

Imee was silenced when she saw this as even the emergency stairs were guarded by the newly-arrived police. Upon realizing the gravity of the situation;

"Dad... this is becoming out of hand... just drop Renir, he needs medical treatment.", she said as she looked at the unconscious Renir bleeding.

However, she was still being ignored.

"Move out of the way."

The three policemen who saw Ernanfo was calm, yet, they feel so endangered even with weapons at hand that they subconsciously stepped back.

But they wouldn't completely back down just from this. Just from looking at the situation alone, they could immediately tell that it was murder or at least, attempted murder.

Who could've been so naive to walk in the hallway of this apartment with that body at hand?

"We will shoot if you do not drop the body and raise your hand!" the one in front said again after steeling himself.

However, Ernanfo did nothing and the radio buzzed,

~ All groups back down now. I repeat, all groups back down now. ~

Confused, the one at front of the group took the mobile radio.

Bzzt ~ "We have him cornered and he seemed no weapon, why will we back down?"

Bzzt ~ Lower your weapons now! Superior's orders. Lower your weapons, now! Let the gentleman pass through! ~

"Huh?" even the other two didn't know what to do when they heard that.

"Gentleman?"

They then looked at the seemingly calm man and had no choice but to back down. Even the other group from the stairs followed the orders. However, when they were about to give way with complicated feelings, they looked and saw that the man was gone. What was left was his daughter on the floor, confused too.

Their heads turned from left to right in quick succesions, looking at where the man had gone to. Yet, they found him nowhere so one of them asked;

"Young miss, where did that man go?"

"...." Imee was still dumbfounded as she whispered, "...He jumped..." what happened was still sinking in her mind.

"... he... jumped?" the policemen looked at each other.

But when it finally sunk in, Imee shouted, "He jumped!" she stood up and looked at the front of the apartment. There he saw that her father was still dragging Renir towards the car. She then ran into the elevator.

"What? This is the fifth floor..." the one at the front stepped forward and thought that man had jumped to his death only to see that he was totally fine...

In the car, Avron and Sam wintessed how Ernanfo jumped from the fifth floor and still survived on landing. Not just that, but he was totally fine as he walked.

Sam's jaw dropped, "W-w-what!?"

Any human landing from the fifth floor would at least have a broken bone, but maybe this man, is not a human?

Olmen had no problem following, but as he did so, he looked at Ernanfo with amazement. He clearly saw how Ernanfor used his legs as a spring. In this way, there would be no damage to the bones but the muscles will take all the force. But that should be impossible since that kind of force was too much for the human's muscles to handle.

[This man is seriously dangerous. Never before had there been a mortal who could be this strong.]

However, the biggest problem was that he did not spare protection on Renir. While he was safe by making his legs act as a spring, Renir just flatly fell on the ground with a loud thud. Fortunately, his head was still fine since it was still gripped, but at this rate, Renir will die.

[Damn it, Renir, wake up! That should be able to wake you up even for a second!] Olmen was becoming desperate. He knew how much a single bead of revival is worth. If it can take its material form, it is from a True Rune User, and the single life of a True Rune User is priceless!

He didn't want it to end up being useless, and make their only way of making those Feluxers back into Gantlet dead.

By then, when Ernanfo was about to reach his car, Olmen saw a glimpse shine. He then heard in his head;

'I'm awake...'

Olmen's eyes widened in surprise and immediately said [Okay, this is your only chance. Just concentrate on attaching the bead and after a few minutes, it will adapt into your body. In that way, your body will be strong enough to handle your injuries!]

'Don't worry...' Renir's eyes slowly opened between Ernanfo's finger, 'That few minutes are already done...'

[Huh?]

Ernanfo then stopped, and felt something as he stared in doubt...

In the elevator, Imee was trembling and was breathing harshly. Her heart raced, worried that something happened to Renir. She saw that her father jumped from the fifth floor, bringing Renir as if he was a doll. Her father might be fine landing from that height but Renir wouldn't

Each floor she passed felt like a year and when the door finally opened, she ran and was about to shout when she saw her father under the light, besides his car, "Dad! Pl-...!" however, she stopped when she noticed something.

Renir's hand was grabbing her father's arm.

"Renir...?" she whispered at herself. But within her, she was joyful but doubtful at the same time, 'He still has so much strength? Did dad protect his fall?'

Avron was in front of that scene and can see what was happening closely.

"Why did he stop?" Sam whispered.

"Strange..." Avron furrowed his eyebrows. He didn't expect the so-called Indestructible Wimp had this much power.

Sam heard it and didn't know why Avron said that but then he saw, Ernanfo's arm trembled.

Renir lifted another hand to take Ernanfo's grip from his face.

Ernanfo stared, wide-eyed. He didn't expect he have to use strength to fight off Renir's hands that tried to remove his grip. It seemed as if he stopped and paused but, reality, the battle had begun.

'... this power... it's coming back.'

Renir's whole memory from Gantlet flashed by him as he recalls how much power he once had and felt it revitalizing his whole body, strengthening and healing it!

As seconds pass. the wider Ernanfo's eyes opened. He had to use more and more force yet it felt like Renir was unlimitly gaining strength.

Imee slowly walked towards them, when suddenly, her father placed Renir on the ground.

[Unbelievable... Renir, what Rank are you and how is this man still able to fight you off?] Olmen felt Renir's power was still increasing but at the same time, the mortal he was fighting was still sparing his strength.

"... Hmph!" Ernanfo began to use more force than before as he suddenly pushed Renir down.

'Seriously? Just a little bit more and the strength I have is already a quarter when I defeated the Giganslik...' meanwhile, Renir was using his full force while his strength was still in the process of coming back.

[Rank 5? No... is he and I have the same Rank?] Olmen couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

"Monster," Avron whispered and Sam nodded, but he did not know that Avron was talking about Renir.

Finally, Ernanfo's brows furrowed and began to push harder.

"Argh!!" Renir grunted.

At that moment, for the first time, Ernanfo felt losing in terms of strength as he was pushed back even though he was only using one hand and Renir two. When Renir finally pushed him back, he removed his hand and jumped back as Renir was dropped on the ground.

He slightly frowned, not knowing what was happening how this weak man suddenly became so strong. By then, his boss' words flashed his mind, "He's crazy strong..." he whispered to himself.

Because of this, he became more irritated and whispered, "So he's really that Renir... did he hide his strength?"

A few meters in front of him, Renir stood up.

"Renir?" Imee was shocked to see Renir stood up as if nothing hurt him.

Ernanfo was close to Imee as he said while blocking her by his arm, "Don't worry, Imee, he wouldn't die just from that," he then squinted his eyes.

"What will you do?" he asked himself while those words are directed to Renir at the same time.

"...Eh?" Imee glanced at Ernanfo, she was unable to understand what he said and looked at Renir again.

The groups of security were already on the first floor, watching the scene unfold while being ready if things escalated.

Behind the counter, the staff peeked out his head and heard at the backroom, "I said everyone, back down, what are you doing there?!" a short old man came out from the back, seemingly nervous.

"But sir, we are just on standby, seeing if that man will do anything else."

"No, you don't understand. That man is from the Fellnigh, an Elite on top of that! Whatever he wants to do, we abide!"

"...."

While tension rises and Ernanfo waited for what will the kid in front of him will do, de didn't expect what happened next.

"Hm?" Ernanfo slightly his head in confusion.

Everyone was confused too. They thought that it had begun and there will either be a one-sided battle or fight of another level. But they all looked at what Renir was doing. Because as of now, he was on his knees, his head on the pavement as he shouted;

"I'm sorry!"
