She began to slowly move towards me, then just as she was about to remove my trousers. A voice could be heard echoing through her house.
"Master..."
Hearing the voice, my master froze. She then got up quickly and began to chuck her clothes back on. Looking at me. "I am so sorry. We will have to continue in the future. Hide in that cupboard."
She then strood out of her room, I could hear her telling, "Yes, I am here. Now what do you want?"
Doing as she said, I went into the cupboard, hiding myself among all of her robes. I could smell her on all of them. This made my already excited body get even more excited.
'Why did she have to say here of all places?'
I made my way backwards slowly, reaching the end of the cupboard. In truth it was more of a walk in wardrobe than a cupboard. I could faintly hear footsteps approaching the room, unfortunately from where I was, I couldn't see anything but discarded robes.
Then I heard the door open but not close and some voices. One was my master, the other seemed like it was the voice of the Arch Mage.
"You know we had to put a stronger student in there. We can't have extremely strong people popping up and taking a position for the tower. Especially as he is part of the group." The Arch Mage's voice was quiet, like he was worried about someone overhearing.
"Humph! What right do you have to stop my disciple? He only got so far because of his effort. Not to mention he did your ridiculous challenge as well. In a record breaking time, I might add." Unlike the Arch Mage my master was loud. I guess this was so that I was able to hear clearly,
"You know what. Let's take this discussion elsewhere. YOu have no idea what ears may be hiding." I then heard some inaudible noises, then some footsteps.
"Why do we have t…." That was all I heard of my master's voice before it went silent.
I waited for around ten minutes I guess, after hearing nothing, I began to slowly creep towards the door. Arriving at the door without making a sound, I saw no one at all and could hear nothing.
'I guess the Arch Mage teleported them both somewhere.'
With there being no reason for me to remain, I left and began to head home. As I was walking the sky for the first time since I had arrived began to get dark, though it just remained like that, with no rain. On the way I could also hear people yelling or talking about the fights today. I wasn't really bothered by it.
'I can't believe it though, he sent someone to make me lose on purpose. Damn bastard. He doesn't seem to like where I am from as well.'
I thought I heard the sound of thunder as I entered my house. Then I froze. In the centre of my room, was some black leather clothes and a dagger. On top of those was a piece of paper.
'How the hell has someone got into here? It is locked and can only be opened by me, or at least that's what I think.'
Slowly, I began to move to the bundle, looking around in the house, trying to see who had snuck inside. Reaching the bundle quickly, I had seen no one around, not even the trace of anyone.
The note itself seemed ordinary, it read:
You have to enter the tower. There is something important that you will need on the tenth floor. Your orders are as follows. Enter the tower, killing anyone in your path. Acquire what you need from the tower then wait for the five months it will be closed. Once it is open, kill the Arch Mage and leave. You will be meant by one of us.
Hide in the shadows, use the shadows. For we are the shadows.
The ending seemed unimportant, but to me it told me who it was from as well as the way I should enter or in this case, what I should use to enter. Then I took a look at the armour. It looked like a fairly standard leather armour, just it was dyed black to better hide its user in the shadows.
Putting it on, it automatically adjusted itself to my body, being tight or loose where it needed to be, not only that the darkness mana gathered around me a bit more as well.
'What kind of armor is this?'
I attached the dagger to the armour as well. It fitted comfortably against me and would not be able to move if I had to run or jump. Making sure I had my sword, I then sat down and waited until nightfall, when the tower would open and also my chance to sneak in.
As I waited, the spirit appeared in front of me.
"How could you keep me alone all of this time? What kind of person are you? Not only that, you enter such a place and never ask for my help once. I could have helped you so much you know? Oh, well done for achieving the core stage, and you have refined your elemental body correctly as well. You will achieve a lot in the future I think."
I was bombarded by his complaints almost as soon as he had left the sword. The very last thing he said about refining was interesting. No one had asked me this before.
"Umm, what was the thing you said about refining? No one here has mentioned it once."
"Whattttttttttttttttttt?" The spirit went silent for a moment, appearing shocked. "How could they have forgotten such an estianal thing. Refining is what the excess mana you absorb does to your elemental body. It removes impurities allowing for an easier time using magic as well as increases your elemental affinity, depending on what type of mana is used when you are going through the process."
Now I understood why he was so shocked. He was right to be as well. It seemed like such an important thing, and yet they had forgotten it apparently.
As the spirit began to go into a long monologue of magic, I noticed that the sun was beginning to set. I did one last check, making sure I had anything I could possibly need. I also put a note on the floor saying that I was leaving the tower due to my performance. This should throw everyone off where I had one at least.
As I left and entered the shadows, I thought of Alyx and Lars. I felt bad, I was just going to disappear without being able to say bye.
The spirit's voice then appeared again. "You are about to go on a dangerous mission, I would focus if I were you."
Then even the talkative spirit went quiet. Doing as it said, I began to focus on the task at hand. It was going to be hard. Sneaking past all of the people and entering the tower which had some obvious secrets was going to be near impossible. Not too many of the mages who will be around.
I quickly arrived at the courtyard, in front of the tower. As I expected it was packed.
