Bad Mood

Xia sat comfortably on the swivel chair inside her cozy office with the computer monitor in front of her. She was pushing herself to finish typing her assignments before they reach the deadline at four pm. Despite the painful hammering inside her head, she manage to carry the task, and what she's typing now was the last part of the document.

Xia let go a huge sigh of relief as she finaly typed the last word to finally complete the text. It's as if a huge burden was lifted upon her tired shoulders. She will need to print everything she input to the Microsoft Word and that would be equivalent to twenty-eight page, long size band paper. But she will do the printing later on. First, she will take a one hour break inorder to rest her heavy-lidded eyes and stretch her numb fingers.

Even though she was suffering under the influence of a hangover, she was glad that it did not keep her from fulfilling her job. Despite her foul mood she was still dedicated to her work. She don't want to simply slack the whole day ang loose her dear job because she allowed her hangover to get the best of her.

Xia pushed her swivel chair away from the computer monitor to allow her tired eyes to temporary escape the radiation coming from the screen and drag her chair to the direction of her wooden table. She leaned her head across the top of the table and used her arms as a pillow. Her head hurts so badly, it's as if it would split any moment. Xia closed her eyes for a while.

She can't imagine how did she squeezed herself out to complete her assignment in such a limited time frame and in the mids of her splitting headache. She must have been scared off her boss. She was terrified with the fact that Zachary Benedict will fire her due to her own doing. But the worst scenario she can imagine is getting fired for the reason of 'incompetence due to alcoholic consumption'. That would tarnish her records and it will be difficult for her to find a new job.

'Oh how she wish she was now in her bed and soundly sleeping.'

She woke up this morning with her stomach turning upside down. She felt as if all the energy from her body had been drained as if she'd run on a marathon. The hammering inside her head made it impossible for her to get up without throwing up. She run to the bathroom only to pour all the contents of her stomach on the sink.

"I want a cup of coffee. Now."

Startled, Xia almost fell off the swivel chair. Her heart was still beating so hard inside her chest when she raised her head to Zachary Benedict who was standing on the door of her office. His hand was casually crossed in front of his chest while leaning on the door frame, wearing his usual blank expression. He wore a simple grey t-shirt and a denim pants. His simple outfit gave him a younger look. He was even more handsome without the intimidating aura he has when wearing a formal suit.

Xia have no idea how long had he been standing there. Had he been watching her the whole time? She did not hear him open the door, she must have been too absorb with her own thoughts to notice him.

It was the second sentence Xia heard from him since this morning. When she arrived he was already inside his office, settled on his swivel chair and doing some paper works. When she greeted him 'good morning,' he did not even budge. He did not even stare at her. Even when she came to him and told him his schedule for the whole day, he did not even react nor uttered a single word.

He was noticeably quiet the whole day. After telling her to do so many things in one long sentence , he left her, and talk to her no more. Xia wondered what was Zachary Benedict thinking. He seem to act so indifferent towards her. Had she done anything wrong. Not that she remembered anything.

"Right away Hary. I will make one right now."

After she was done making his coffee she turned to the door, "About last night Hary—"

Xia's face twisted in annoyance seeing Zachary Benedict was no longer leaning on the door. She was talking to the wind. She did not hear him leave. He left leaving the door wide open.

Slowly, Xia walk to his office with his coffee on her right hand. She found him already seated on his swivel chair. As expected, his head was burried again into his desk and he was signing the papers she'd given him early this morning. Xia carefully placed his scalding hot coffee at the top of his table. He remained preoccupied and did not even paid her any attention. Xia was not only annoyed, she was dismayed as well.

Xia could not take it any longer. She took a deep breath to summon all her courage, placed both her hands non too gently at the top of the table and began, "Hary, about last night, I'm very very sorry for leaving you on the dance floor."

She was so sincere as she said those words that she felt that her throat tightened. She was very rude last night and she have this nagging urge to apologize to Zachary Benedict for what she did that definitely hurt his ego.

That finally caught his attention. He stopped what he's doing and turned to look at her with wild menacing eyes. He stood upright, letting his pen drop at the table with a loud 'click'.

Xia's heart thuded violently inside her chest as she saw the dark aura emanating from his body. He looked like a wild beast about to devour his prey. Did she said anything wrong? She simply apologize. She found nothing offensive with her words.

With quick long steps Zachary Benedict walk towards her and Xia found herself stepping back. The hard wall finally hit her back and she have nowhere to go.

Zachary Benedict pinned her hard on the wall. Xia could feel his hot breath upon her face. Before Xia could react, he slowly descended his lips upon her own.
