Her Protector

Angelica Marie stirred on the top of the hospital bed before her eyes fluttered open. The painted white ceiling greeted her eyes first. It was obvious, she was inside a private hospital room.

She quickly supported her body and sat on the bed, her back leaned on the headboard of the steel bed. Her arms tightened around her chest while she tried to suppress the fear from rising inside her.

She thought she was going to die last night. She really thought that it was her end as she try to catch her breath. Her arms tightened around her chest as the memories came crushing back on her.

The pain was still fresh as if the traumatic incident that scared the hell out of her happened just a while ago. She opened her mouth to scream but no words came out of her mouth as abundant tears began to fall from her eyes.
