The inevitable outcome...

As soon as the beast entered the cavern, all the three heads of the beast stared at Aiden. Aiden didn't know the reason, but he dared not to take his eyes off it.

"Cerberus?" It wasn't the name Aiden had heard of before.

[In ancient Keerg mythology, Cerberus is a three-headed dog known as one who guards the path to hell.]

"Myth!?" Aiden frowned. The beast in front of him looked like a monster out of imagination. Even if that was the case, Aiden had no intention of believing that the path behind the beast would lead to hell.

"Are you fighting or not?" Kaiser's question reminded him that this is not the time for daydreaming.

"Let me check something first," Aiden said as he turned towards the beast. If he was alone, Aiden would have run away a long time ago. But now that had so many people with him, he had no intention of doing that.

It wasn't that he was thinking about protecting them. It was just that he was confident that with Kaiser and others, he would have no trouble defeating the beast as long as it wasn't an 'A-grade.' Aiden made a mental note, and he vanished at the next moment.

Aiden appeared to the right of the beast at the next moment. Yet he was followed by an eye on the right head of the beast. No matter where he moved, either right or left, up or down, at least one of his eyes has always followed him.

With a recovery rate of 5 mana/minute, Aiden did not dare to be stingy. Yet he was unable to escape its sight.

'How is he able to do that?' Aiden felt that this beast had been bred for the sole purpose of tracking him down. Even if he was unable to find a blind spot, he still chose to attack. Aiden vanished again and reappeared behind the beast.

With less than ten meters between them, there was no way to avoid an attack on its hind leg. Or so Aiden was thinking.

Just as Aiden's leg left the ground under the influence of [Wind Burst], the beast turned around and swung his big paw at Aiden.

'Shit' Aiden cursed as he reappeared next to Kaiser. If he was half a second late, he'd become minced meat.

"B-grade beast?" Aiden frowned. Even if it wasn't going to be a problem, it was the two elementary star ratings that put the furrows on his forehead. And if that wasn't enough, Aiden didn't know if its mana had the same effect as the devil.

"Can you distract him for a moment?" Aiden didn't want to ask, but there's no other way, "don't get too close to him, avoid touching the mana and distract it as much as you can."

"Why? What are you going to do about that?" Kaiser did not ask such a question. He just nodded and called out a few slaves. Even if they had run away, they were just hiding at the entrance.

The slaves, whose names were called, came with eyes full of resentment and fear. Pointing to the beast that gave Aiden a hard time, Kaiser told four of them what to do. Even if they didn't want to do it, it was their fate, and they couldn't escape it.

After he had made his point clear and concise, Kaiser ran along with the four slaves to the beast. Aiden, on the other hand, was having a tough time. Without the [Light Foot], he didn't dare engage the beast.

He had been fighting the beast for a few minutes, but he didn't get the chance to touch the beast.

And Aiden appeared underneath the beast's stomach. Even before his blade could touch his skin, the beast jumped into the air.

"Shit" Just as Aiden was about to curse the agility of the beast, yet it turned in mid-air, looked at Aiden and opened its mouth. It was the middle head that spat a giant ball of dark-grey mana at Aiden.

Even the Kaiser who was charging the beast was stunned. Neither he nor the beast knew whether or not the mana breath had struck its mark. But soon, the beast found it painfully.

As soon as it landed on its feet, its three heads and three eyes tried to locate humans. It never realized that the human it was looking for had reappeared under its stomach.

*Awwwwwwuuuu*

The beast cried out in pain as the gashing wound appeared on its stomach. But the attack wasn't just over there. Kaiser, who had already transformed himself into a bear of the same size, struck its face.

The slaves, too, had attacked it with swords and spears, but it was Aiden who was the most effective.

With the acceleration of [Wind Burst] and the enhanced strength of [Zone], Aiden was able to cut through one of its hind legs.

All the heads of the beast gave mournful cries. It was so high that Aiden was a little dizzy. 'Is that some kind of sound attack?' Aiden wanted to know, but he couldn't get a chance to confirm that.

The beast opened all of its mouths and sprayed the dark grey smoke everywhere. It covered everything around it in a dark grey cloud.

With the help of [Light Foot], Aiden had no problem escaping the mana breath range, but others were not so lucky. Kaiser's bear form had a big bald spot on its back now.

And the worst of all of them were the four slaves. Their will was not strong enough to free their minds from the effects of their angry howl. So when the breath hit them, the bodies of the two slaves turned into a molten black mass.

The cry of pain was resounding throughout the cave as another slave was dragging his charred lower body to the ground. And the luckiest of them had lost his hand. What was surprising was that he was the same one-handed slave.

"I can't let you do that." Aiden cried out as he vanished from the spot. As soon as the beast understood that the situation was not in its favour, it tried to run away.

The wounded hind leg had slowed it down, and the large gaping wound on the stomach had made it worse. It could not run faster than Aiden, and Aiden had no intention of giving the beast such a chance.

[Remaining mana:6]

The ESS soon confirmed the recovery of the mana and Aiden launched all of his attacks at once.

As soon as he had cut off his other hind leg, Aiden had given another gaping wound to the stomach of the fallen beast. And once the frightening beast was now turned into a dead weight. It wanted to spray the breath, but with its intestines splattered outside, there was no way it could do that.

'It won't be long before the beast will stop breathing.' Aiden had no intention of wasting his effort to kill the beast that was already at the door of death. He stood at a distance, staring at the resentful eyes of the beast.

"What are you?" Aiden turned towards Kaiser who was standing beside him.

"Don't you know?" Aiden frowned, not understanding the meaning of the question.

"If you're a human, how can you survive, even after you've taken that deadly mana breath head-on?"

"It didn't touch me," Aiden explained how he vanished from the spot before it could touch it. "It itches a little, but that's all. If I was a half-second late, then I would be in the same condition as those slaves."

"Are you sure you weren't hit? "

Seeing that Kaiser was pointing to his chest, he looked down. And there was nothing there. There was not a single string on his body. He was butt-naked.

"Did it hit me? Did the breath corroded my dress?" Aiden still couldn't believe and Kaiser had no intention to answer the obvious.

"You should put on something." Kaiser said as he moved toward the beast, "I should put it out of misery."
