Faster than...

Aiden threw the four golem cores on the floor, along with them, two ice wolves and two more ice golems appeared around him. The pair of wolves attacked the nannok with the belt.

While the golems, with their core, tried to attack the flying beast. Their wings looked similar to a bat, and the use of them was similar. Using their thumbs, they were crawling across the ground to escape the attacks from the golems.

And if the ice breath wasn't devastating enough, their high-frequency screeches were making Aiden nauseous. However, these attacks had a far more devastating effect on the ice golems.

Every time those attacks hit the body of the ice golems, their body crumbled like a house of cards. As their body was smaller now, they recovered their body in a blink, but their attack couldn't touch those bat-like beasts at all.

However, Aiden couldn't dare to look at them. His major priority was to decrease the number of the enemy. So he concentrated over the wounded nannok, with the aid of the pair of the ice golem that he had created with his mana.

An ax head formed on his dwarven metal as the two golems attacked the nannok with the spears. They continued to keep some distance between them as Aiden attacked using his superior speed and small size.

And, if that wasn't enough, the ground beneath the nannok glowed with a mana circle. With superior instinct, it was quick to perceive the incoming attack and was quick to jump back.

Never did it expect that before its feet could touch the ground, ice spikes appeared on the ground. Most of the spike could not penetrate its thick hide. However, a few penetrated through its old wounds.

*Gahhhhh*

It screamed in pain. As it struggled to get itself free, blue blood splattered everywhere. Yet it hadn't expected that the black rod on Aiden's head would extend with a spearhead on its tip and pierced through its jaw.

Its eyes bulged up as it stared at Aiden in anger. However, it couldn't express its thought. The intense ice mana that was spreading through its body froze the nannok inside out. The heavy body plopped on the ground.

Aiden ran towards one of the bat-like creatures without hesitation. Multiple ice lances formed behind him and jetted towards it. However, one flap from its giant wing was enough to scatter them like snowflakes.

"They are ice wyverns. They are very tricky and intelligent creatures. Same tricks won't work on them twice."

Mraz's voice contained a sense of irritation as he explained, "They are just three circle beasts, but even a five circle beast avoids engaging a horde of Wyvern."

'Can you call four of them a horde?' Aiden joked, yet Mraz carefully explained, "One of their hordes contains from three to thirty wyverns. It's better to take care of them as soon as possible."

*Crunch*

Aiden looked to find that one of the Wyvern was holding the golem core in its mouth. It had no problem in breaking it between its jaw and gulping it down.

And the effect was instantaneous. As soon as others understood the secret, all three of them attacked the heads of the golems.

"Shit," Aiden cursed and called back his golems. It was too late. Another golem core shattered in the jaws, one escaped by a hairbreadth. Aiden directed the remaining two golems to attack the last Nannok.

The ice wolves and the pair of golems, fed by Aiden's mana, vanished from the spot and appeared in front of the wyverns. Naturally, the wyvern attacked their heads as soon as they appeared. Yet, to their surprise, there was nothing.

*Creeeee*

Their frustrated cries filled the air as their attacks became fiercer. Looking at their crazed action, Aiden frowned, "Those bastards are wasting my mana."

*Boom*

Aiden shattered the sound barrier again. And before the wyvern could understand what had happened, a sharp weapon slit the thin membrane of the wing.

Even if there was no blood, it could still fill the pain. It screeched in pain. Before the sound of its screech could reach another wyvern, Aiden's sharp dwarven blade slit the wing of another wyvern.

With their sharp instinct, they could understand that something was wrong, but there was nothing they could do about it.

*Boom*

By the time they could hear the last sonic boom, all the wyvern had lost their ability to fly. Sharp screeches filled the air. However, Aiden couldn't give them the chance to attack and charged at them.

*Crash*

Mraz's desperate scream was a little too late, and the punch hit right into his face. It wasn't something he was expecting, nor he had seen anyone attacking him.

Aiden was quick to check everything around him, but to his surprise, he couldn't find anything. On top of that, the shattered protective glass of the camera made it harder to see clearly.

As he removed his helmet, nothing was pointing out all the alive beasts around him. However, he had no problem finding the human size man standing not too far away from him.

"@#$$@#. @#$##." He said, but Aiden failed to comprehend.

*Creeeeee*

*Gaaaaaa*

However, both the nannok and the wyverns responded in an intangible scream. The man, however, wasn't too happy with the response and said, "$@#&. @##$."

Aiden didn't know what it was talking about, but it was effective. They slowly stepped back to the edge of Aiden's domain, and the human-like figure turned to Aiden.

'An ice-elf,' It's pointed ear gave away its identity. Aiden, however, wasn't sure whether it could talk in human language.

"A human?" The Elf stepped forward to take a better look at Aiden. But it stopped a few steps away from Aiden to smell something. It checked Aiden in surprise, "You must be the one who killed Kilian's son."

"Kilian? An Elf?" After seeing a wolf talk in human language, it didn't surprise Aiden much that an elf can speak in human language. However, he could guess what the elf was talking about.

"You even know about our noble race. Not bad." It impressed the elf, "I know the Kilian's son wasn't special. Even so, he could control an endless amount of ice puppets."

"What impressed me you could take care of the pair of Chenoos." Yet it frowned as it looked at Aiden, "But to think you have just one circle."

"How can you be so sure that I am the one who killed that elf?" The thought that they can identify him at a glance worried Aiden most.

"In the entire plane, we had a single casualty. And you have the scent on you."

"Scent? Blood?"

The elf shook his head, "That Kilian was little worried about the safety of his boy. So he marked his son with ice specter essence. As you are the one who killed him, the specter marked you."

He pointed at his nose, "It could be hard for you to smell it, but we can smell you."

"Is there a way to remove it?"

The question caught him off-guard. He looked at Aiden in amusement, "If you can beat me, I will tell you."

"But if I kill you, won't it mark again?"

"Ho! You sound confident." the elf laughed, "Let's see what you can…"

*Boom*

The elf couldn't complete his sentence before Aiden activated both [Zone] and [Blink]. Whether it was because he was moving faster than sound, nobody knew, but Aiden failed to hear the sonic boom that followed him.

Under the effect of [Blink], the world stopped to the point of standstill. However, the elf's movement was normal.

"Huh!" It surprised Aiden, but he didn't forget to slash at the elf with his scythe. Again, the elf had no problem in moving away from the path of the scythe. The elf punched to his exposed side.

To Aiden's surprise, even with [Blink], Aiden could not dodge the punch. Whether it was the effect of the supersonic speed, Aiden didn't know, but his feet almost left the ground.

He took a few steps back before he initiated another [Blink]. The world slowed down around him, yet the elf smiled at him. Before he could attack, the elf did.

Who knew from where a pair of daggers appeared in his hand, and they aimed for Aiden's throat. Aiden stopped his attack as used the dwarven rod to stop the attack.

The attack was heavier than Aiden's expectation. He could not keep his balance and rolled on the snow. As soon as the effect of [Blink] stopped, another sonic boom rocked the world.

By instinct, Aiden activated his. And the tip of the dagger slowed down an inch away from his eyes. As he was on the ground, he could jump back. He gritted his teeth and rolled.

The blue dagger met the flesh, and the metallic scent hit Aiden's nose. Aiden didn't dare to stay on his back and jumped back up. He checked to find a deep wound on his shoulder.

Staring at the elf, he gripped his dwarven rod tighter. Only then he realized that there was a layer of frost on the rod. And the part that the pair of daggers had scrapped hadn't recovered.

"Your body is not bad." The elf slashed his dagger in the air to remove the red blood of his dagger, saying, "To think that a primitive species could maintain such a speed without the effect of mana circle is surprising."

And his compliment ended there. He smiled at Aiden and said, "Why don't you show me what your first mana circle could do?"
