Many had completely lost hope in the new mechs, not only because their power was lacking, but also because the performance of the new mech pilots was so poor that it embarrassed everyone.
Compared to the soldiers of the old mechs who would rather be severely injured or even die in battle than utter the words "surrender," the members of the new mechs were unbearable to watch.
Not to mention the cowards who surrendered without even entering the battlefield—some of those who did enter the field even broke down and wept in fear; everyone's frustration was palpable.
Some deaths of the new mech pilots did not even warrant sympathy compared to the heroes who were rescued only to succumb to their severe injuries and were posthumously honored as "War Gods."
