Information on the Boss

But despite all his doubts about the Instance Dungeon, Chu Ge was confident that he would be able to clear it. Although the difficulty of the Instance Dungeon had increased, his strength and abilities had also improved quite a bit. Not only did he manage to become familiar with some simple battle techniques, but he also had learned two battle skills. Most importantly, he was already familiar and well-versed in the Instance Dungeon's method and flow.

As the saying goes, "you get better with practice," so Chu Ge felt that challenging the new Instance Dungeon should be easier than the previous one.

Besides, he also had an advantage—the 60 DKP he had earned from the previous Instance Dungeon.

According to the introduction given by the system, there were many ways to use DKP.

First, it could be used to check on various information of the Instance Dungeon, including the Boss' skills, the abilities of the monsters, as well as obtaining a map of the Instance Dungeon, and more.

Second, it could also be used to summon teammates. Of course, the cost for summoning teammates was relatively higher, as it cost 50 DKP for each summon. Also, it could only be used once in each Instance Dungeon, so Chu Ge had no intention of summoning any teammates unless he had no choice.

Furthermore, DKP could also be used to upgrade the system and unlock even more system functions.

Chu Ge considered his options and decided to check for information related to the Instance Dungeon. Bearing in mind that he only had a small amount of DKP, Chu Ge only chose to unlock data on the Instance Dungeon Boss. As for information on monsters, Chu Ge felt that if he were careful when clearing the Instance Dungeon, the monsters would not pose too much of a problem.

System: Unlocking the information would cost 30 DKP. Confirm?

Since the information cost 30 DKP, was that an indication that there were three Bosses in the Instance Dungeon? Unlocking the data for each Boss requires 10 DKP, it wasn't cheap at all. But if he had intel on his enemies, it would make the battle more manageable, and his victory would be assured. Since the Instance Dungeon was at a normal difficulty level, it would surely be more complicated than the Abandoned Quarry Instance Dungeon. Besides, he was also up against an enemy that was versed in necromancer black magic. Clamping down at his cringe over the cost, Chu Ge still selected the confirm option.

System: DKP has been deducted. Information on Instance Dungeon Boss has been unlocked.

System: The Necromancer's Crypt Instance Dungeon has three Bosses. The Bosses' information is below.

Boss Number One: Blackie (Zombie Bear). The old grey bear called Blackie died not too long ago. But before its body decomposed completely, it was found in the wild by Auguste and was resurrected by him. Now, the zombie bear has become a guardian of the crypt. Despite its resurrection into a ghostly spirit, the grey bear still retains some of its abilities from when it was alive.

Skill One: Sweep. When cast, the surrounding enemies within a certain radius are vigorously swept away, resulting in some physical damage, and enemies are forced backward.

Skill Two: Fierce Strike. Sends a fierce slapping attack to one target, causing physical damage, and the target is forced backward.

Skill Three: Ferocious Bite. Bites a target fiercely, resulting in the target becoming stunned and continuously causes damage to the target. The stun lasts five seconds.

Skill Four: Gigantic Beast Resilience (Passive). Because the dead spirit grey bear has a larger body, its resilience is much higher than normal animals.

Boss Number Two: Grimdon Horace (Undead Knight). The undead knight wears low-leveled armor and is an unlucky resident of the Horace Crypt. After being resurrected by Auguste, it became his strongest subordinate.

Skill One: Instant Slash, a fundamental battle skill that attacks a single target with a powerful slash. If the attack is successful, the speed of the subsequent attacks increases by 50%.

Skill Two: Shield Smash, an attack on a target with a shield. While causing harm, there is a certain chance to knock down the target.

Skill Three: Sword and Shield Expertise (Passive). As an Undead Knight, Grimdon Horace can proficiently use a sword and shield in battle.

Boss Number Three: Auguste (Necromancer Apprentice). A Necromancer Apprentice from Cangbai Academy. Although he is still an apprentice and has yet to complete his studies, the fact that he was able to survive within the cruel Necromancer Academy speaks of his black magic abilities and proficiency.

Skill One: Undead Summoning. Summons a group of undead warriors to help in battle.

Skill Two: Negative Energy Shot. Shoots a missile that contains negative energy at the enemy. The missile also has a healing effect for dead spirits and the undead.

Skill Three: Protective Shield. A translucent shield created by black magic; it can deflect and protect against physical attacks.

Skill Four: Corpse Resurrection. Resurrects a corpse to fight on behalf of the caster. The resurrected body cannot use any skills that it had when it was alive but can compete with the abilities it has as a dead spirit.

Skill Five: Blind Curse. Curses a target, causing blindness that lasts ten seconds.

Chu Ge looked at the information on the Bosses that he had unlocked and frowned deeply.

Based on the information he received, it felt as if the three Bosses were mighty.

He was down on his luck this time. He was most probably able to deal with the first two Bosses, but he had to do his best and work hard. Although they seemed powerful, they specialized in physical attacks, so he would probably be able to kill them by drawing out the battle and tiring them out.

The crux of the problem was how to deal with Auguste. The Negative Energy Shot was most probably a low-leveled black magic skill that was similar to the Fireball skill. But what vexed Chu Ge was that he could resist the Fireball skill with the fire resistance suit, how was he going to resist and fend against the Negative Energy Shot?

There was also that Blind Curse. Chu Ge had no teammates with him, and if the Blind Curse hit him, he would be crippled.

Furthermore, Auguste had summoning and resurrection skills, which meant that there would be fodder monsters acting as the Boss' bodyguards.

It would have been better if the Boss' skills ended there, but the Boss even had a defense shield skill. Chu Ge wasn't sure if his arrows would be able to pierce through the shield.

But even if he agonized over the information, there was no way to change the situation. He had to make do with what he had been given. Now, all he had to do was to figure out how he should conquer the Instance Dungeon.

After contemplating and considering his options, Chu Ge still decided to bite the bullet and scout around the Instance Dungeon before coming up with a plan. It was only a Noob-level Instance Dungeon with a normal difficulty, and he was an experienced gamer, after all, he had encountered countless powerful enemies in-game, and no matter what, he had always won in the end. There were many solutions to a problem, and he was confident that he would be able to find a solution to defeat the Boss and clear the Instance Dungeon.

As soon as he decided, Chu Ge put on his full armor and walked through the entrance of the Instance Dungeon.

When he stepped through, he was a little surprised because the entry point was not the interior of the crypt, but narrowly tucked between two trees in a forest. From a bird's eye view, the clustered trees formed a funnel shape, and the curtain of light blocked the pathway behind him. Not far in front of him was the entrance to a dark cave.

It seemed like the entrance to the crypt was not at the main gates.

Shortly after walking into the cave, Chu Ge spied a gigantic figure slumped in the darkest, inner depths of the cave.

It was Blackie (Zombie Bear), the first Boss of the Necromancer's Crypt. It was a large-sized grey bear, and judging by its size, it was around 700 – 800-jin in weight. However, it did not appear to be healthy, because its fur was messy and it had spots of rotting flesh exposed on some parts of its body. Its eyes were abnormally cloudy, and it was slumped near the entrance of the crypt, unmoving and silent as if it were dead.

However, Chu Ge was very aware that the monster was very much alive. Well, strictly speaking, it was not alive, but at least it was able to move because it had a full HP bar.

He had never thought the first monster he encountered would be the Boss. It looks like Auguste had placed the Boss here on purpose for guard duty. That way, if anyone came in by chance, they would assume that it was the cave-dwelling of a typical grey bear.

After observing the surroundings and the grey bear for a while, Chu Ge gave up all intention to fight the Boss now. Although he had seen some results after training at the gym and in melee battle practice, Chu Ge was very confident and aware that he was not a match for the monster in front of him.

Chu Ge felt very disturbed after retreating from the Instance Dungeon. What should he do? He was still too weak. The monster was a bear and not just any beer, but a zombie bear. If it were a live bear, he could try his luck and attempt to stick an arrow into its eyes to see if he would be able to kill it. However, a zombie bear would not be easy to defeat and destroy. What kind of weakness would a zombie bear have? Hmm, first, its intelligence would be decreased for sure. Perhaps he could try thinking of some clever tricks to use against it.

After thinking for quite a while, a question suddenly popped into Chu Ge's mind. If a person wanted to go against a bear, besides using a gun to kill it, were there no other methods they could use?

That would be impossible to imagine, because, how could a beast best a human with superior intelligence?

Dig a hole to trap the bear? That was ruled out quickly because the floors of the Instance Dungeon seemed impenetrable and couldn't be destroyed. Besides, to dig a hole to trap and kill a bear, how big would that hole have to be? Oh, right! Snap trap!
