An Investor, Just My Luck!

After the conversation outside with the father of the victim, Ge Liang was given an offer to come inside for a meal and a chat about possible investment. He would be a fool not to come in as not only were the amenities and food top-notch, he could meet an angel investor and possibly gain the money he needed to own the supermarket!

In truth, the fact that Ge Liang needed a huge sum of money to even buy the supermarket from the company that owned it. This had been at the back of his mind for a long time, as he didn't know where he would get that type of money... even if worked all his life, his double minimum wage salary surely wasn't going to let him save to that extent! Now that this problem was solved, he could continue back on his path of becoming a manager. However, first, he was excited to talk with this man and eat in his amazing home.

Ge Liang started to sit down, then he froze. He saw an ornate table made with lacquered wood with exquisite porcelain plates and bowls on it, and they were all filled to the brim with rich soups and meat and fresh, almost live vegetables, and a fish that looked like it had still been swimming in the river when Ge Liang woke up. There really is a difference between those who have and those who have not, he thought, looking back on his early days as a part of a poor family. This rich family with so much at their disposal... Ge Liang swore that in the future, he would use some of his money for good. Every family would have food to eat, water to drink and a home to live in. He wanted none of the future generations to experience his plight. As a youth he would be extremely embarrassed at his tiny home, and particularly envious of the rich and famous who had it all.

He and the investor sat down, talked for a. while, with Ge Liang answering questions and talking about how their son even came to be bullied at all. It turned out, in a sick twist of irony, that the corrupt cashiers at Ge Liang's supermarket were not only taking money from the company, defrauding all the customers, they would also steal from unassuming rich children, and start fleecing them for money, threatening that if they didn't pay up, very bad things would happen... like in the case of this investor's son. This organisation that Ge Liang was worrying about was seeming more and more each day to be like a mafia gang. This investor's son really wanted revenge, and so he and his father said: If you can get rid of this corruption problem within your store, we will donate as much as it takes to buy your shop for you!

Ge Liang was shocked. Sure, the investor's son had been wronged, but did he really have enough money to throw it out for revenge like that? The ultra-rich truly had too much money to burn... he almost choked blood at the fact that this kind, rich man had enough funds to gift an entire shop to someone who pursued his son's revenge. If his family had even 10% of what this man was offering as a gift, they would have been able to live on easy street for years. This even further strengthened Ge Liang's conviction that in his world, where he was the economic king, the needy would no longer be in need.

1 Week Later (Or 7 Awesome Training Montages Later)

Ge Liang had his stats raised. He had been practicing non-stop to increase his strength for this quest, and he had broken through to Beginner Low-Stage Strength! He was now quite strong, enough so that he felt like he could take on a gunshot or two without sustaining heavy injuries. His strength had reached a level far beyond that of 10-dan kung-fu fighters, and he was very confident in his ability to beat the thugs.

Ge Liang also checked in with Wei Qian about the completion of the quests, and he said that the first two were done, as community service for Ge Liang was technically work hours. The rewards from those two were 100 Free EXP each. However, no new quests were showing up, and Ge Liang discovered that all three assigned mini-quests had to be completed before Ge Liang could receive any new ones. 1000 Yuan was not too hard, and he would most likely accomplish that by the end of the week. Things were going well, and tomorrow he'd be ready to face the gang's cashier group. He headed off to bed satisfied with progress, and excited to beat up gang members.

(Sorry this one is a bit shorter, I'm a bit tired T_T I'll write more tomorrow)
