Prelude to War

Ath3na was like a leech that was draining Morrigan at Noon of her power, and no amount of shoving could pry her off.

Morrigan's attempts to blast Ath3na away were also dampened by the drain, and it actually seemed to Jaybird like she'd drain the life out of the witch.

"You cannot take what is mine, foolish girl," Morrigan snapped.

"There's not enough of you left to stop me," Ath3na snapped back.

Everyone just watched as this happened because it didn't seem like there was any room for them to intervene in this struggle of wills. In fact, a single thought was floating in the surface of Jaybird's mind. "Women be crazy…"

They all heard the sound of an elevator's grate swinging upward, and all gazes turned toward the person who'd just stepped out of it.

"Guys… there's two of them now," Bulldog Alfie reported.

"You…" Morrigan at Noon managed to say despite looking quite weary already. "You're not welcome in my domain…"
