Keeping my guard up, I strolled through the entrance and changed into my battle stance. "fu~", breathing out air in concentration, I inspected the respawned orc general's stats:
Monster: Orc general
Level: 80
Health: 90000/90000
Mana: 200/200
Strength: 6500
Vitality: 9000
Intelligence: 20
Agility: 450
Other than my agility, which I've never invested into since day 1, all my other stats are far superior. Even though this orc general was roughly 20 levels higher than the previous one, I was still brimming with confidence. Putting energy into my legs, my body shot in to close the distance, as I slashed off the monster's arm with my dagger.
Spinning around and using my new skill [Shadow step-tier 3],I was able to flip over the monster with ease, before stabbing it's back. Simultaneously, a large green magic circle glowed and covered the orc's back. Urgh! That skill must be some form of super regeneration! When I stabbed the orc general's back, my dagger and my hand was lodged inside before it regenerated and trapped my hand in its flesh. Tch! Attempting to kick the orc general and use my leg strength to pull out my hand, before my leg could reach....
"AAAAAaaaaaaaah!!, Kuaaaaaah!", who's scream was that? Ah, it was mine... Urghhh!! , that bastard amputated my leg by swinging his cleaver backwards so hard that it also dug into the flesh on his back. Did he break his own elbow as well?! His forearm was bent unnaturally with a cracking sound. My [auto-regeneration] kicked in and the pain had been reduced. It would take a whole day for my limb to grow back, I know! I could support myself with [Acrobatics] and [Shadow-step]. Those skills were pretty much the same, except that instead of using wind, [Shadow-step] was self-explanatory. It used shadows and somehow solidifies them with mana. At tier-3, [Shadow-step] also gained the ability to defy gravity.
As these thoughts flowed through my head, a new idea had sprouted in my mind. Activating [Shadow-step] in front of my trapped hand and pushing the anti-gravity to the maximum, a whole chunk of flesh flew into the air. Don't misunderstanding, my arm was completely fine. Stronger than I thought, a whole chunk of flesh flew out of the orc general's back due to the anti-gravity effect, losing balance the orc collapsed ontu the ground and fainted from the blood lost.
Hu~hu~hu~. Breathing heavily from exhaustion, I was extremely reliefed. Another close to death encounter in this life. This world is way too dangerous. If I had waited for age 15, I would have become corrupted with naivety from safety, and died a gruesome, careless death. The rusted armour on the orc general swayed in the wind from the shockwave of its owner collapsing. A large green magic circle reappears under the boss monster slowly healing it. Just as the circle appeared, it regain conciousness and struggled to get up on its feet.
"Tch, I'm not giving up this chance. You may have outsmarted me, but I also have other tricks. Die!" Taking the magic gems out of my spatial storage, I threw 3 [Explosion-Tier 2] gems at the monster's leg and arms, setting it's limbs alight and off setting it's regeneration. Using [Shadow-step], it wasn't as if I could walk properly. I still needed to balance 2 limbs of different lengths which was extremely difficult. Trotting over to the collapsed monster, I injected one final dos of energy into my legs through my veins. Spinning horizontally through the air, I carved off the orc general's head.
Level up! : lv 57 —> lv 62
Using [Shadow-step] to propel myself forward, [Stealth] to cover myself up and [Illusion] to erased the random monster's perception of the shockwave I leave behind while flying, I suppressed my exhaustion and kept pushing to the exit. The evening light glows from a distance. Ah I'm finally done, releasing all my skills at once, I tumbled ontu the ground and rolled for a few metres. Fatigue took over and I fell asleep, just like that.
It was a good thing that my internal clock was developed properly in the week I had been living in this forest. Unlike my previous life of playin MMOs all night and getting little to no sleep for the next day, I take sufficient rest and wake up around 6 in the morning.
Refreshed from the unexpectedly intense and close battle that occured yesterday, I wake up from a sticky grass bedding. Mud, sweat and blood was sticking to my hair ruinning my precious black that reached my shoulders with white tips. Hmm... Maybe I could live at a dorm in the elite academy. Hopefully they have those, so I could improve my quality of life and stopped washing myself at the river. I fear if there are some perverts that lurk there and peep.
In a flash, I was ready to go to the academy and start my first day. The usual occurence was that nobles could rent the church for their private use and allow their children to get classes at the age of 12. Through this process, the elite academy was filled with nobles of many different ranks. At the bottom was baron —> duke —> royalty —> King. Thus it was abnormal for me to be here, well... disregarding the fact that my uncle and father are last dukes of the Vadim family.
Honestly, I'd rather they consider me a commoner than be associated with my uncle. Going through the residential district and reaching the other side, a enormous gate covers me from the bright sunlight. It was the gate to the capital. Surrounding the gate was a 5 storey tall wall that stretched as far as I could see. There was a queue of merchants that brought their goods and planned to enter. I didn't exactly have the time to wait in queue. Using [Stealth] and [Illusion], I had planned to walk past the guard, when a hand had reached out to stop me.
"Please go into the queue."
Was my [Stealth] and [Illusion] that weak?! The security guard didn't flinched and thought I was ignorant rather than sneaking in. Showing my fake identification that I received from "Avalon", I reasoned that unlike the others, I didn't have luggage so I could just pass through. It was technically through, unlike other people who needed to pack food and travel in their wooden car-carriage hybrids for a few hours, I just ran here as all my things were inside my storage magic.
After that ordeal was over, I used [Shadow-step] and boosted myself forward to the elite academy. The elite academy and the normal magic academy was on opposite sides of the castle that sat in the middle of the capital. The castle resided over an extremely high mountain that overlooked the kingdom at 3 times the height of the walls.
Showing my pass to the guard at the entrance of the elite academy, he was shock that I was even younger than the nobles that walked through the gate. I guess I'll be starting my studies later than the normal students. That's okay, I've had enough experience from my previous life that I could casually cramp all the things I missed in a couple weeks if I try hard enough. With that, my strange school days started in another world.
