86 - Day 2 part 1(E)

The sun had risen, it was time to start the new day. The events of yesterday couldn't escape my brain. Due to my high Vitality stat, I didn't need any sleep so I was constantly half-awake with my eyes closed. Even though it had been a whole night, nothing strange had happened to Iyori. She was still acting as her usual self, she was even more relaxed than last night. She didn't even say any suspicious things, well I guess that is it with the case. Since I was dragging it for too long, I should stop pondering about it and continue with my life.

Reading up on the latest news with a magic communication device, it seemed that what happened at the cafe was kept under wraps. Well that was fine, if someone told you "a physical law defying monster has been found and defeated at the new cafe", business would not go well for that restaurant. There wasn't much else but to search for random information to pass the time, mobile games haven't been invented in the magic device yet.

Originally it was a top secret tool for military purposes as it served as an efficient reconnaissance tool. As technology progressed, our security improved enough to make the tool into a common household item. People's lives were instantly brightened up, some even found jobs by picking up new skills from information found. The only information not available was the means to gain military power.

In the King's castle, there was so much hidden technology that it could be used to take over another kingdom. Hidden rockets, giant guns that can shoot high and fast enough to reach space, an all purpose throne with lots of otherworldly functions. Yeah... The king definitely went all out with a throne arm rest that acts like an i⚪hone and sci-fi like hidden defense systems in the big chair.

From a single click, a giant gun could shoot into a neighbouring kingdom's castle and leave a giant mushroom cloud. There were rockets that could do more damage but were disposable when used. It wasn't exactly an easy thing to have in the back of your mind, so I've kept most of it from Fez and only left the i⚪hone throne in her possession. King Bavner had copied over magic circles form from 'sloth' and added it into the throne anyway, it was top notch defense that rivalled spacial manipulation.

By the time I was done with surfing the network, it was time for our planned meeting. We had settled on another adventuring session, [The witch] didn't grow on trees so we didn't need to worry about it. Picking out thin grey cardigan, I wore a fitting white shirt and frilly black skirt. This time I had made sure to wear undergarments in case my shirt got wet. Complete defense! I raised my right fist into the air exclaiming. I hope Kurisu didn't notice it.

Using [control space], I arrived at the venue which was the entrance of said dungeon. In the distance was one familiar face with shining grey hair matching with a deep dark blue magic cloak, a white shirt with blue details covering up to her chest, a purple pants to match the cloak, some stylish boots that enhance the 'witch' feel, and finally grey tights. Surprisingly, she was earlier than me this time.

"Yo, did I keep you waiting?". There it is! The trope I've always wanted to try out with Fez, the one that gives an intense and passionate feeling of youth. Not letting my feelings take over and grin creepily, I kept my composure as I articulated my words.

" Nah, I've only arrived earlier by about 5 minutes." (Fez) Beaming with a grin, she replied while her grey hair flowed in the wind. Ah, that was probably just my imagination, there wasn't actually that much wind. Nevertheless, her existence to me was shining like aways.

" Hey!! Wait up! "(James). From the distance, a small spot called out with a tremendous voice. In a few seconds, the spot expanded to reveal James and Iyori running towards us. Iyori donned her signature black ponytail, her mint eyes glowing in excitement. She was probably too tense to talk yesterday, that in itself was suspicious considering we won. I knew it, maybe I should keep checking up on her in case she does anything funny.

James had enchanted leather covering his chest and thighs, the rest of his attire was casual clothes with dull tones of grey. What stood out as usual was his blonde hair that swayed whenever he moved. Iyori was wearing chain armour over her casual clothes with some enchanted laminar to cover her chest. Walking into the dungeon, it seemed that Iyori had noticed my gaze. Did her new class give her superior battle sense? Well I wasn't directing any killing intent, so there shouldn't be any suspicion if I gloss over it quickly.

"What's wrong? Are you sick?". Provoke her a tiny bit, maybe something interesting will be revealed.

"No... Nothing is wrong..." (Iyori). Suspicious... Nothing a little interrogation can't fix. If anything, I could even read her memories to see what's wrong. It should be incredibly effective deep in the dungeon, that way her cries won't go out and reach the others...

A couple hours passed by as we reached the level 800 area. With our speed, it was a breeze to walk through the other 8 areas in 15 minutes. We worked with Iyori to explore the ability of her new skills, but just in case I will prepare for any unknown abilities. Once we reached far enough, I used [control space] to seperate and teleport away Fez and James a few meters away. I just needed a small amount of space to isolate me and Iyori. I can't let my 2 trusted friends get hurt.

With my superior agility, Iyori couldn't even react before my hand was placed on her neck.

" Who sent you. What is your goal?"

"GuuUugh!!!?! My throat!! I wasn't... Send... By anyone...!!" (Iyori) her face was going red and purple so I thought to losen the grip. Well whatever, if she didn't plan to divulge her secrets then I'll just have to take them out of her. Afterall, if she were to die I could just use 'wrath' to bring her back. I'm sure her new class has made her extremely durable as well. At the end of this, we may not be friends, but it shouldn't matter if Iyori was standing in the way of my goal. To be 'the strongest'.

***(Iyori)

A deadly aura burst out as mana was subconciously being condensed around Emily. At this point, it was very obvious Emily was no longer human. Her gaze locked onto Iyori as her killing intent was secretly seeping out silently. Even a tiny drop in the ocean of her murderous will power was able to trigger Iyori's instincts. What is this? Who is this monster? Having been shocked by the terrifying being before her, she almost forgot what was happening in the current situation. But she must persevere, so that she can protect her new friends.
