Can You Not Read?

Lillian could only stare at the rectangular box which was in her hands. To say that it looked odd to her eyes would be an understatement—an understanding of the year. 

Not only was it made of pure wood, the intricate details which were running along the edges of the wooden frame could easily steal someone's heart. 

"You got me a box?" The words left her mouth before she could process her thoughts regarding her 'gift'. She didn't know what to make of it. Was she supposed to use it for her rings and all? Though she wasn't a fan of them in the first place. 

"Open it." Blake could only reply to her as he continued to juggle his attention in between the road ahead and the reflection in his rearview mirror. 

Lillian could only do as she was asked. Rolling her eyes at the man's lack of attention, she turned the box around to find a golden clip shaped lock in the center which was holding the lid in position.
