Magic Is OP!

The moment the abomination died, Elo was overcome by joy. Previously I took them several minutes to kill one of those monsters, but now Lars had killed it in a matter of seconds.

He looked at Lars with anticipation in his eyes. He could already imagine how much easier it would be to clear the second floor of the dungeon with the power of a magician.

At this moment, they suddenly heard an enthusiastic voice from the front.

"Wow, that was great! If I had known that magic was so OP, I would have put all my points in magic."

Gorden came running at them with a big smile on his face. However, Lars didn't share the other's enthusiasm.

"It's not as good as you may think, I needed to spend almost half of my mana to create that ball of fire. At this rate, I can only kill about four of them every hour at best."

Although Elo was a bit disappointed, he didn't show it. Even if Lars' skill was not as good as he had previously thought, it was still beneficial to them in the dungeon.

"Don't worry, it still helps. If you can adjust the strength of your magic to cause just enough damage to kill one of them, you may be able to help us even more."

Lars looked at Elo as if he was his saviour. He could not imagine that there was one team in this forest that could challenge Elo. That's why he wanted to become a part of this group by any means.

As they walked on, he had already started to create a new fireball between his palms, this time cautiously adjusting the fire's strength.

But to their surprise, the team didn't encounter any other monsters for quite some time.

When they were about to believe that the first abomination would also be the last, another meat golem appeared in front of them. It had just walked around the corner, and Gorden, who led the group, had almost bumped into it.

The golem seemed to be about as shocked as Gorden. As soon as Lars realised what was happening, he pointed his palms at the monstrosity which send the fireball flying.

When the golem saw the small red ball flying at him, he raised his two hands to stop the projectile from hitting his head.

When the two forces collided, the ball exploded and burned the gnome's arms into black ash.

Imidietly, the others encircled him and beat him continuously with their weapons.

Without its arms, the gnome had no way to fight back. Therefore he was killed within a minute.

"Ding"

"Damaged Flesh Golem (hard) has been defeated.

The resources are being transferred to the leader of the team."

"You resaved:

-5 spoiled meat

-2 soul gem (rare)"

Elo was delighted with the outcome of this encounter.

Even with what seemed to be way less mana, Lars could prevent those big monsters from fighting back.

With him, it would be relatively easy to clear out the second floor of the dungeon, as long as he had enough time to recover his mana.

Exited Elo turned around.

"How much mana did you spend on this attack? How often can you use it?"

When Lars heard Elo's enthusiastic voice, his heart started beating faster. He would actually be able to join the most powerful group if it went on like this!

Being unable to hold back his joy, he answered immediately.

"I just used about a fifth of my mana this time. I should be able to create such an attack every ten minutes or so."

Elo wasn't able to believe what he had just heard. This small kid could probably one-shot the Hell rat if he used all his mana. Of course, he could not attack at all for at least the next few minutes, but he was an excellent damage supporter for a team.

He would have to invite every magician he saw to his team. With such firepower, they would have no problem clearing the second and maybe even the third floor. But he didn't know anything about the third floor, so that's something he wasn't able to predict now.

"Do you want to join our team permanently? Of course, you would get the same amount of soul gems as the others in the team. What do you say?"

Lars' eyes started brimming with joy, and he nodded violently. He didn't imagine to become a permanent team member this fast.

"Yes, I would love to."

Elo was pleased with the outcome of bringing the kid into the dungeon. They had been able to recruit a new team member, and this newcomer fitted perfectly into the team. However, he didn't want him to become a slacker as soon as he became part of the team.

"Ok, then you are a part of this team from now on. But remember to work hard, I don't accept any parasites in this team.

Lars nodded again, maybe even harder than before.

After a short pause, they walked on. They defeated 8 additional meat golems until they reached a big hall. Compared to the rat's cave, this hall was luxurious.

It was made out of the same black stone blocks as the tunnel they came from, but elegant chandeliers enlightened the room.

However, they did not enter the room directly but rested to regain their stamina and mana.

On this floor, they had gathered another 20 soul gems, which meant that he now had 33 soul gems. Together with his 10 power stones, it was enough to get one level up for himself.

"Ding"

"You have 40/40 level points. Do you want to level up?"

-"Yes, why does the system even ask? It reads our thoughts anyways!"-

"You have one available stat point, how do you want to spend it?"

-"I want Charisma. I wonder if I will get another skill when I reach 10 Charisma."-

Immediately Elo fell asleep.

When he woke up again, the others were already talking excitedly. They all wondered what kind of monster the boss of the second floor could be.

After resting for about half an hour, Elo suddenly stood up.

"I think everybody should have restored his energy by now. Let's kill a boss!"
