SARAHIAH WAS SCARED

Caleb looked at her face and saw the color slowly drained, she looks so pale and worn out, "Gate? There was no gate, but the number of the house was one nine two zero."

'The gate, how could I be so stupid? This morning when I was leaving they had to open the gate for me to leave,' she asked herself as she suddenly remembered.

Caleb heard her shriek when he asked, "Who told you the house is nineteen twenty?"

When Sarahiah scratched her head, she seemed confused so she said, "I can't recall, but your van was there, I am sure of it."

Then she recalled the number she saw on the mailbox, it looked like nineteen twenty, could it be a piece of the zero peeled off and it looks like a nine.

"Sarahiah, the house number is ten-twenty as in one zero two zero, you must have driven a few miles down the street." Sarahiah knew she had made a grave mistake and if she said anything he might think she was stupid.

Caleb saw her slumped down on the chair, and her face was paler when she said, "Dear God, I could have gotten my death, but I stopped a few times and asked for Mr. Jonas Christian and that's the address I got, but your van was in the garage. I could not have made such a huge mistake."

Thinking back how did I know it was his van? I have never seen his van until just now when he came at the gate, what the hell is happening to me?'

Caleb looks at her, he realized she want to put on a brave face but I had no idea she knew the van. I know we went in the van to the wedding but her eyes were closed, and she was asleep when we reached home?  so was she watching me before?

Not wanting her to suspect he knew she was watching him, he said, "Okay, don't panic, you are safe now and that's what's important." Caleb didn't want to scare her but she was right just supposed someone had opened that door and the way she was tired they could have overpowered her.'

When she did reply, "I am not panicking, I am just tired," Caleb observed that the color still didn't return to her face yet.

"Okay, I understand."

"Look, I will come tomorrow, I am in no mood to drive tonight again, and I have to leave home by five in the morning."

"It is fine, so don't worry. I need a good night's rest so how about we meet for lunch tomorrow?" Caleb knew he have to be patient and find ways to help her trust him, and soothe her heart to build this relationship.

"Sorry, I will be away for the entire day, just write your address down for me please and I will come home tomorrow."

"Is it too much to ask where you are going tomorrow?" Caleb spoke softly to her when he asked.

Sarahiah looked up at him and was about to respond when her phone rang. Caleb looked at his time, 'Last night around the same time her phone ringed, I am sure it's her boyfriend again.

All Sarahiah said was, "Give me a minute," then he heard her answer the phone, "Hello good night... Yes this is Sarahiah Steelton... Sorry sir I believe you have the wrong number... Yes, I am Antonio's daughter... What?... Are you crazy?... What the hell are you talking about... Look, mister, you could make all your demands and threats I don't care and you could also keep my father. I don't have money to pay any ransom... Go ahead kill him, he is dying anyway."

Sarahiah switched off the phone, but the way her hand was trembling the phone fell to the ground, and as she bent down to take up the phone, she felt her inside was just trembling and any minute she might collapse.

Taking a few breaths to regain self-control.  Caleb looked at her face when she lifts her head and said in just a whisper, "I am leaving with you, just give me a minute and help me." Caleb overheard part of the conversation only when she replies and knew immediately that was no boyfriend.

Wanted to ask her but she was already o the move. She had already grabbed a box and run into a room, he followed her seeing she opened a safety box and begin throwing everything into the box, and then asked him to take it.

Caleb saw how briskly she moves to another room, realizing it was hers as she grabbed her things from a book shelf, then open a small draw from the wardrobe emptying it into the box, She then get another box throwing shoes and some clothes, then throw her keys to him as she said, "Put it in my car."
