He tried to relax realizing, 'Jezell was right, the young lady makes me feel on edge, but why? Seeing her in the mall for the first time, when she collided into us, it was not planned it was an accident, she seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere, but why were she smiling even when Jezell was rude by showing her the third finger. No one has ever gotten under my skin like that before and it irritates the hell out of me, then her running in front the car, I know it was not on purpose. I could see she was in pain but why didn’t she say something, someone else might have shouted at me because I was wrong, and why was I so ignorant, I didn’t even know it was her.’

"Hi Matt," Caleb heard her say and laugh, "No, I borrowed his phone... Can you buy me a phone today?... I lost my phone yesterday after I left the hospital... By the way, have you visited dad... No, I wake up late... I am sorry, I know I was supposed to go with him... You did... I didn't mean to get you all worried... Will you tell them I misplace it... Thanks, then I will see you later... No, no, I am home... What nonsense? You all sent me away so where do you expect me to be?... Matt, stop making such foolish jokes... You are not?... How bad is dad hurt?... When the phone call ended, Sarahiah started crying all over again, "Why is this happening to us?"

Caleb went to her, "What has happened?"

Caleb saw her stand up and hugged him, "It's Darius, he got shot yesterday by a stray bullet on his left arm."

Caleb felt her head shake so he stroked her and asked, "Do you want to visit him?"

"No, I need you to help me take out everything from my car. I am expecting someone to come for it."

Caleb held her at arm's length and asked, "Can I ask one favor?"

"Whatever is happening, will you tell me the truth?"

"Sure, I have nothing to hide," she said as her face looked so sincere as she said those words.

'But in the last half an hour I heard three different tales to every person she spoke her lies to and they were all filled with deception and manipulation,' Caleb thought.

"You go and freshen up and I will ask Aunty Zelda to send up a tray for you."

"Don't bother, I will fix our breakfast."

"She will be hurt," Caleb told her.

"Don't worry, I will not offend her I promise, just tell me what you want to eat and I will make it for you as a thank you for helping me last night."

"Sarahiah, we are husband and wife, that's my duty now."

"Maybe, but I have never depended on anyone for a long time, and do me a favor, don't tell my brothers what happened last night, they are a crazy bunch."

"Is that why you lied to Matthias?"

"I needed to know who went with dad to the hospital today and if he is alright."

"But I thought you went to see him last night?" Caleb saw her shake her head, "So where the hell was you for three hours?" Caleb asked as he was unable to control his anger.

"You ask for the truth right, well we were being followed and I couldn't lead them here, I had to lose them. I am selling my car because they know it and I am going to cut my hair and dye it. I am planning to get myself a dark shade and do whatever necessary to keep a low profile and I am getting off the grid for a few days."

"So who is with your dad?" Caleb asks.
