Chris actually knew that she was still beside, but he had acted as he suddenly started cultivating, because he didn't know what to answer to her without seeming highly suspicions and with Aaron's soul not responding to him, It seemed as if he could just use this method, since his Art of B***S may not be good enough against a higher level cultivator like his sister who could catch her lies instantly also taking into account, the fact they are close and she might already be suspicious of him.
