The real world was boring and no one was there willingly. The only thing people did there was work, and eat. Where did people spend the rest of there time? The answer would be in a game. For almost everyone this was there real world and the one they spent the most time in. Verous was the name of this world. There was a young man who in this world and was using a self made pod to play. He was playing and suddenly blacked out to wake up in a cabin he used to be alone in Verous. However he discovered that he was no longer a player and was an NPC.

I'm an NPC

In Verous, items had seven ranks, common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary, chaos, and divine. Aurora had plenty of chaos ranked items he had made and many more lower ranked items. He had around 40 divine items but those he used for himself and it took him 2 years to gather the materials and create them. He obviously wasn't going to give a low leveled player a divine item that he couldn't even use.


Legendary and epic items he could give out like scraps of paper and this player that had accepted his quest had, albeit indirectly, saved his life. Well not really considering he had a years time to complete it but still it helped him.


He set the EXP to 100,000 to help out the fortunate player and pondered about what item he should give him. He could access his warehouse from the bank so he was going to bring the player there when he was done to take out a couple items to show.


After a little more than an hour SolarMight showed up at the bar where he was told by Aurora. SolarMight also had a companion with him, AquaThorn. SolarMight looked around for Aurora and found him sitting in a corner alone.


"I gathered the herbs you requested. Please take a look."


"Well done. We'll need to make a trip to the bank to get your reward as I don't have anything you would want on me right now. Come, follow me."


After taking the herbs and putting them in his bag he led the two to the bank. They arrived at a large luxurious 3 story building which was a bank only used by wealthy people. Seeing this SolarMight and AquaThorn were stunned for a moment.


Aurora smiled to himself hearing what they said. He walked up to the reception counter and took out a ring with a symbol of two hands shaping a planet. This was a symbol known to almost everyone in Verous, it was the mark of Worlds Hand.


 Aurora was Worlds Hand but no one knew what he looked like and many suspected the person to be a legendary NPC. Of course he was an NPC now but he used to be a player who just liked to create things of extraordinary quality.


"Young man, what sort of item would you like?"


"Do you have anything that would help me as a mage?"


"I believe that this would be beneficial to you."


Aurora took out a book from his warehouse and handed it to SolarMight who appraised it immediately. When he saw the stats of the book his eyes nearly popped out of his head.


Additional Passive Skill: Magic Haste. When using a magic attack there is a 10% chance to activate this skill, boosting casting speed and damage of magic attacks by 40% for 3 seconds.


Additional Skill. Instant Casting. For 7 seconds all magic attakcs have no cast time and cooldowns reduced by 300%. Cooldown: 5 minutes


Additional Skill: Fleetfoot. Movement speed increased by 70% for 45 seconds. Cooldown: 10 minutes.


"Thank you for your assistance adventurer. I hope the tome helps you. I must be going now, I hope we meet again."


After saying that Aurora left the two dumbfounded players in the bank to go level up.


"I'm not insane right? Are you seeing the same thing I am?"


"If you're seeing a legendary item in the form of a book then yes."


"This is awesome! I knew that NPC was going to give us something good! Hah!"


System: Quest "Gather Herbs" complete. Awarding 100,000 EXP and 20 silver to players.


"... You are the luckiest bastard I have ever met."
