Emma

After finally getting to their room and escaping the congratulating crowd, Norman and Kelle slumped into their bed, happily talking about all the attention they were getting. Page was telling Zeeth about where they planned on going, but Will was staying strangely quiet. Soon, Norman and Kelle fell asleep, exhausted from using so much telekinesis.

Will got up to talk to Page and Zeeth, "Guys. Are you really going to leave? You realize Jarlon could really use some of your help right now getting it back up?"

Zeeth was surprised, "How did you know?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop but I forgot to turn off my hearing from when we were looking for people and I heard you guys talking about leaving accidentally. Don't worry, I shut it off as soon as I realized I heard you guys whispering, I know how annoying it is to have your secret shared with people you don't want shared with. But I think you guys should stay, for whatever reason you have to go. You already know us and all."

"Will, I'm sorry. I need to go, there is something really important to me that I have to do. Here, give this 450 back to Kelle when she gets up, she lost the tentacon that she bought from me." Zeeth pulled out his card, ready to transfer the money to her.

"I don't think she would accept that. Besides, Kanna was tamed by Emma so she could still play with it."

"No, I don't feel good taking it. If she didn't buy it I would've lost it to Emma without the money."

"Zeeth, keep it. I'll pay her 450 when she wakes up." this time Emma was at the door, holding the sleeping Kanna in her arms.

"Emma!"

"Sssh, don't wake them up." she walked over and plopped Kanna next to Kelle, who reached out its tentacles in its sleep and wrapped them around her arm.

"Lady Emma, what are you doing here?"

"I wanted to talk to Zeeth here."

"Oh, what for?"

"It's about the technique that you used to calm the tentacon. How did you manage to calm a massive wild tentacon that much by just laying on it? I understand if you don't want to share your secret, but I think it's something we can all learn from, especially me. I don't think I could've calmed it down so fast, with it thrashing around and all. Now, don't tell anyone but," she closed her eyes, shot out a wave of mana from all around her body, and created a wobbly sphere of blue mana to check if there were any other sources of mana around that could be listening to her. She knew they were in the Vasaleus and the chances were close to none, but one couldn't be too sure. A massive tentacon tried to climb the city walls today.

She was satisfied with their security and continued, "My body is rather weak, I would've had to wait until its rampage was over before applying many skills to even get it comfortable to touch me and then calm and tame it. That is my one weakness, a fragile body. But you didn't seem to use any mana. I couldn't see a trace of on come out, so how did you do it by simply using your physical body?"

Zeeth also shot out a bit of mana to inspect the surrounding area, using his slimes body as well to extend his reach and they both found nothing and told her, "I just had to calm myself, and I think the tentacon sensed my calm body and calmed down itself."

"It's as I said you said in my office. That's all you know? It's fine if there is something you wouldn't like to share with me but your method seemed really effective and useful."

"Well, I also thought of a memory of when I was a kid and my mom tucked me into bad and read me a book. It was a really warm memory and I can help but smile when I think about her touch clearly. So I think you should just have a happy, soothing memory like that when doing this. Also, make as much body contact as possible."

"Oh, I must try this quickly. In all my years of taming, I have never done this before. I've always been worried about if it would work or not because of the nature of my talent."

"Since you can't tame it if you fail once?"

"Yes, but perhaps I've done this a few times and never realized it? I don't imagine other memories while I am taming very often though, but it sounds like it could be really useful. Thank you, Zeeth. And I'm sure you can all learn a bit from this. Tell those two when they wake up as well if you don't mind."

Will was quick to respond, "Of course."

But Page and Zeeth were a bit more hesitant. "Actually, Emma. we were thinking of leaving soon. Maybe before they wake up. And I was wondering if you would share some of your tips on taming."

"Really? Are you interested in learning how to tame?"

Page realized how close they were to talking about Zeeth skill and tried to steer the conversation away, "Actually. Um, can we talk in private?"

"No, I'm fine with letting Will know."

"Letting me know what?"

"My true skill." Zeeth pulled up his sleeve and moved his slime away. The ink was magically rubbed off and revealed a tattoo under that one, a man and a dog with 100 dots hovering between them.

"Oh, goodness! A hundred!"

"Yeah. please keep this a secret, but I have this skill and I want to learn more about it. I can't keep any more under my contract, but I think learning more could still be good."

"Zeeth, this is incredible! You had such an amazing skill and you never told us!"

"Sshh, please keep this a secret. I am trusting you with this knowledge. Please."

Will looked really worried, "what about Kelle and Norman?"

"Yeah, keep it a secret from them too. I don't want more people knowing than I need to."

"You realize how much of a talker I am, right? What if I let it slip one day? Oh god, I can't do this!"

"Will, I trust you."

Emma seemed more excited than they had ever seen her, her old face breaking into a dazzling face of happiness and excitement, "Zeeth, we must go, right away. To my pet center, let's go!"

A couple of birds flew into the room, their claws holding onto what looked like two toy cars with a dent on the hood. but two turtles heads popped out of the shell, looked around, and went back into sleep. She stepped onto the sturdy shells of the turtles and the birds grabbed her shoulder, lifted her a little, and flew her out of the room. The combination of all that made her really fast and she sped down the hall to the teleportation room. Zeeth, Page, and Will followed shortly behind. She got onto a platform, halted, and waited for them to hop on. She set a code, swiped a red card through the side of the pad and it blinked green three times before starting the teleportation. It sent them all the way to a room filled with the scent of animals and fresh air. They appeared on the highest floor where the ceiling was a dome made of glass so they could see into the night sky. Windows were open all over the place to allow fresh air in, but what was more incredible was the room. There were hundreds, if not thousands of creatures, some that he had seen before, like the giant fly and a flowered pig, but some he couldn't even dream of. What seemed like a puddle on the floor was changing colors as it moved, a snake moved to wrap around Emma, but legs suddenly formed on all sides and jumped off, a turtle with beetle wings, and a scorpion who had four tails, all coming from the sides like a crab.

"This is my kingdom, my pride, and joy. This is their home. It seems a bit cramped but that's just because of the tentacon so I called the small ones back. Usually, about half of these guys would be out there doing their own thing so it's not as crowded. I have about 3024 creatures tamed."

"That's a lot more than Kelle said."

"Yes, of course. These guys are always having kids and they all come under my control if their parents are under my control. It's always updating, but I never know. I don't bother checking anymore. Well, you wanted some advice, am I correct?"

Will had gone all over the place trying to catch a floating paper bird so it was just Zeeth and Page left talking to her.

"Yes, I would greatly appreciate it."
