Destruction of the Judgement Stick

The meteors soon came rushing down. The majority of them landed outside the barrier and Zeeth had no intention of trying to catch these. A few hit the platform above the judgment stick and broke a few of his gems and splattered water onto the ground. Leardio kept holding up the platform along with the pillars and bent down every time a meteor hit it as if something was hitting him. The excessive weight was taking a toll on him.

Meteors kept striking the ground, digging holes, and splattering water and rocks everywhere. From under the barrier, things looked pretty nice with the shimmering gems and water splashing out. Some had even gone far enough to hit some houses nearby.

"Thank goodness these aren't made of wood, they would go up in flames like a pile of hay."

When the mini-meteor shower finally ended, Alba told them, "the next wave will be the main body. There will be more and bigger than any of these combined, I don't think this barrier will do much. We need cannons."

Tattoo called out to the villagers nearby and told them all to help carry the cannons over. Alba told them where to aim and when to fire them.

Not soon after a large swarm of black spots appeared in the sky. Several grown men were at each tank, ready to push at Alba's command. The barrier they had created was being restored as fast as they could, Leardio stopped holding it up himself by adding more pillars and walls with the help of Zeeth. They created more pillars around the cannons to protect the people and the ground some more. A meteor the size of his torso shot down and demolished a big gem and rolled into a house nearby.

"Men, don't fire yet," alba Held her hand down, not letting them shoot yet, "we will target the largest meteors, these small ones can be stopped with these gems."

Another one almost twice as large hit a corner of the barrier and crushed a few more rocks and bounced off, forcing the pillar an inch into the ground. Leardio pulled it back out and restabilized the water that was sliding off. A barrage came rushing down at the ground and Alba told them to let loose, destroying the biggest specks in the sky, breaking them into pieces as big as the other chunks, and knocking them slightly off target.

Zeeth created a large bubble of water and chucked it at a meteor coming in. it sizzled and splashed onto some gems, that glowed too faintly to notice from the hit. Page lifted a bit of the red floor to block the meteor Zeeth had cooled down, catching it like a baseball in a mitt. It rolled off, leaving cracks along the ground, and sat on the ground. A particularly massive one came at Zeeths face, threatening to crush him. He wanted to use Mag or Gul to stop it, but he knew he wouldn't be able to whip them out fast enough. He shot out a jet of water from Leaf to stop it and had all the water vaporized. The meteor didn't stop at all, it continued rushing at him. No one else was looking at him, trying to watch out for the meteors themselves. Just as the meteor was about to crush his head and splatter his body apart, a translucent, yellow shield enveloped him. The meteor hit the shield and cracked, crushing itself into a little bit of gravel before it bounced off. The meteor fell away and the shield dimmed away, dissipating into thin air.

A little bit of gravel that had bounced up clinked into his head. The stream of green water that was still coming out of Leaf died down as the reaming bits washed away some of the crushed meteors.

The inside of the rock was purple, unlike the black outside. It was a smooth, shimmering material that looked like a silk blanket combined with a smooth marble. He wanted to tinker at it but the meteors that were still coming in weren't stopping. Another fell to his left and he saw Tatio creating some kind of slide out of his staff and making the meteor slide to his left, protecting himself while drastically decreasing it's speed so it wouldn't destroy other things.

The staff seemed to be dented and the middle was on the verge of cracking, despite that he was mad he couldn't do something as simple yet effective as that. He had to rely on a godly artifact instead of simple skill to protect himself from something just like it. If only he could do that, maybe create a torrent of water strong enough to hold meteors or enforcing his slimes in a way to quickly catch it. He would have to figure that out later.

Just as the meteors began to thin out and they were all beginning to think the hell was over, a whoosh like no other meteor was heard overhead. They all looked up at once and their eyes widened. The biggest, reddest meteor they had seen so far was coming straight for the barrier above the judgment stick.

Zeeth had used his daily shield and the others had been tired out from trying to minimize the damage of all the others. Alba only had a few shots left in the cannon she saved for this moment, but looking at it now, there was nothing they had that could stop this for even a second. She fired off one of the spinning double balls anyway and of course, it broke a chunk of the meteor off and simply crashed to the side, not causing any real damage.

Loren put down his hands and said, "Dad, I don't think we can protect the stick any more… we should protect ourselves and book it-"

"NO!! We can do this. everyone, pull up their best defensive magic!"

"Tatio!" this was the first time he had heard Alba actually yell at someone, "just leave the stick, lives are more important!"

"You don't understand Alba, this stick is more than just a good memory!"

"That doesn't matter, we need to save lives first, we can't have these guests die on us." as she talked Tatio began pulling out as much magic as he could. He grabbed the nearest person, Loren, and yanked his hand up as well, much to his confusion. Magic was suddenly being pulled out of his arm and into Tatio's as he pulled up more earth and metal from around him. He made a large hemisphere above the barrier held up with oddly built stone pillars still freckled with gems from Zeeth as he kept adding layers and pillars to it.

It eventually became so big it covered the meteor from their point of view and it definitely seemed like it was able to hold the meteor. He grabbed onto Leia and began sucking out her magic as well, pulling more metal and rock around to reinforce the bottom as the pale Loren stumbled back, finally being freed from his grasp. Alba ran forward to help Loren and free Leia but Tatio wouldn't let her go, she healed Loren enough for him to get back and kept trying to pull Leia away from him.

"Let her go, what do you think you're doing to your own kids, taking their magic like that?"

But just as she pulled Leia out the meteor hit the hemisphere he made, cradling itself in the hole. For a second it seemed like it had stopped, but the meteor kept moving, breaking off chunks from the egg holder and destroying the pillars that held it up. Tattoo held up his staff and made it into a long pole that held it up from the middle propping itself on the barrier. Despite all his efforts, the meteor easily crushed the hemisphere and pushed down the pillars. The staff that Tatio made pierced through the barrier, tearing through the gems, rocks, and metals in its way, and hit the judgment stick right in the middle. The meteor kept cruising down, piercing the staff even further down and began breaking the judgment stick. The staff eventually broke the stick into pieces and began doing the same to the rock. Tattoo saw and tried to stop it, but after moving a little bit of rock beneath it he fell to his knees without a staff to hold him up and clenched his heart.

The staff was really pressuring the rock now and cracks began appearing on the rock. Just as the meteor seemed like it was about to crush everyone and kill them all, it came to a halt. The staff propped up on the judgment rock had really helped and the other pillars were securely keeping it up.

Tatio mustered up what energy he had left with motivation and ran to check out the stick that had been broken into small sticks. The shattered rock was also being cradled as the others fell down to rest. Only Zeeth was really active since he was careful to watch his magic levels and he had his slimes to help him whenever it gets down. A hundred and one creatures restore magic a lot faster than one, especially if a hundred of them are slimes.
