'Eddie's immortal?'
'It appears his armor has been blocking any of his energy from releasing. It has now come off and I can sense it all. He actually has quite a substantial amount of mana as well.'
Eddie was strangely pink, his skin was covered in bare muscles and blood. It was a terrifying sight, not a single but didn't stink.
Zeeth found the broken armor late that night and spent some time working with it along with Page who tried to offer his limited knowledge on future circle works, which hadn't grown much outside of each of technology, but the next morning he responded, "I couldn't remake it back to normal, but I was able to piece them back together and noticed the circles that created it. Using the material and circles, I recreated similar effects to the mana."
He yanked out a full shiny wolf fur and strategically placed metal that created a cool, high-tech armor that stretched to fit Eddie's large body nicely.
Because he replaced a lot of it with wolf hair and other materials from the dungeon, he had many parts leftover and used that to repair his robe, adding an additional feature on it to hide the mana of anything covered by it.
"Oh, thank goodness," Nadaho sighed, "No offense, Eddie, but without some kind of covering, you look kinda terrifying."
"Eddie! Scary! Good!"
"Oh, you- that's a compliment. That's good."
Back in Fahlhala, Yem stared at a room full of sleeping children. They were all lying on the floor, sweat pouring out and squirming. They were the children he took from Melanis but they were all struggling to even breathe now.
Yemesia walked into the room, looking at the children and Yem, silently staring at them. "Yem, what did you do? I thought we agreed not to hurt anyone not retaliating."
"Nothing." Yem growled, "why would I attack children? They were like this when I found them. Some kind of disease."
Yemesia saw a child with a sleeveless shirt and noticed a tiny purple vein near his shoulder. She approached it, looking at the vein, and yelled, "it's the Dragon Plague! They've been afflicted with the Dragons Plague! We need to leave, it's highly contagious!"
"What is the Plague?" Yem asked, jumping out the door with her.
"A disease not even my old teammate would use. Dives, the controller of diseases, wouldn't dare use it unless he wanted to go down with his opponent, he told me it was his self-destruct card. He only has a tiny vial of this crap, but even that is enough to end an army."
"What does it DO?!" Yem yelled.
"I only know what Dives would say, the Plague travels through anything and everything, they can live for years without a host and they mutate like crazy. After five months of suffering, the host will die. I don't know how much of the Plague was in the air we just breathed, but it's best if we just lock them up and move them away."
Simultaneously, Zeeth was flying through the sky with Meda, the wind and clouds following him.
"Zeeth, come down for a second." Page said, gliding next to him. He then telepathically said to him, 'don't say anything, but Dealu put a tracking device on you. They can hear and see what we're doing so don't do anything suspicious. I can try to reverse it and track them instead. Just hand me the robe and give me a minute.'
'Let's do it.'
Zeeth said to the rest, "guys, let's stop. We need a short break. Nadaho, I need to speak to you as well."
"sure."
A year ago, shortly after making the armor for Eddie, Zeeth pulled Nadaho aside. He was the weakest of the group which meant, to the monks, he had the most room to grow. But it also meant he had to work the hardest and was the most tired out of all of them. That night, while Nadaho was massaging his sore muscles, Zeeth had a secret room made with him and Page.
"This is creepy, you can create a safe room with just mana?"
"Took me a while to learn," Page said, "but it's handy."
"Nadaho." Zeeth sat down beside him and tried to think of what to say. He started with, "You come from Earth, right?"
"Wha- how do you?"
"I come from there as well."
"Then, is Page?"
"No. I just know about it."
"But there is something important we need to do. There has already been another girl from Earth, I don't know if there's anyone else, but her name is Cina and I don't think she knows that there is anyone else either."
"So I'm not the first?" Nadaho looked down at his hands dejectedly.
Page interjected, "No. And I doubt you'll be the last. We think you came here for the same reasons devils are coming, you are just lucky you don't look different from people here. They'll just assume you have bad genetics."
"Thanks," he said sarcastically.
"Did you come here through a rift? Some kinda wobbly white hole in the air, right?"
"Yeah."
"Do you remember your life on earth? Like all the memories you had when you came here are still here?"
"Yes."
"And you aren't different from your body on Earth, right? You've always been a human."
"Yes."
"Alright. So I think you-know-who messed up. In an attempt to bring me here, the worlds are opening to each other and causing messes that he doesn't even seem to know about." Zeeth muttered, "all the more reason not to go anymore. If he finds out things could be bad for you, Nadaho."
"What do you mean? What's going on?"
"It's not safe to say anymore, but we have an important job only you can take."
"Me? Are you sure you want me? You've said it yourself, I'm not the first or last, and clearly not the strongest. What can I do that you can't?"
"You can do a lot I can't. You came here through a secret entrance, I was forced here and I'm being monitored. This job is something only you can do because you are not being watched."
"Tell me what it is first."
Zeeth looked at Page and nodded, "remember, this is all under secrecy. Only the three of us know. We need you to go around the world, find anyone from Earth and recruit them."
"What? How would I do that? You said they all look the same, you want me to just go around the world asking random people?"
"No." Page got to eye level with him, "you will spend the morning learning to strengthen yourself, and at night we will train you to obtain a skill. An analyzing skill."
Nadaho's eyes lit up, "you can do that? Aren't analysis skills super rare? You really think I can do that?"
"Yes. I know things no one else does, learning a skill is simple once you know what to do." Page said, his eyes glowing, "you just can't learn too many, your body can break."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm on board! If I take on this task, I can learn the skill, right?"
"Yes."
He pumped his fist in the air and yelled, "finally achieving my life goal to be a powerful manga character!"
In current times, Page linked Zeeth and Nadahos mind and he said to him, 'how is your skill now?'
'Better. I can see what you were talking about, it says, Otherworldly next to your name.' Nadaho said.
'Great. Now we need to try it in the wild, see what happened if you don't know.'
Ever since reducing the time of God's number to ten minutes and gaining God's Eye level 2, the typical descriptions became a lot better, they contained several pages of information, and oftentimes it knew what he wanted to learn and only showed what was important. It also began narrating the important aspects of his life, like where he might've been damaged or what he had learned, like when he was talking to the hundred in Rah. He learned something called Motivation and the upgraded God's Eye told him it was part one of five aspects to being a great leader.
Page handed the robe back to Zeeth and put his finger to his lips, shushing everybody. They heard through the robe, "Dealu. Did you attach an eye to him?"
"Yeah. why did you want to watch him?"
"He progressed far too quickly. And I didn't really expect him to survive Rah. Don't get me wrong, I am very glad the monster died. I would've had to sacrifice myself to it once I had a son who could do my job, like my previous ancestors, but now, to kill a beast, we gave beast magic. And he is just roaming around, with almost no ties or reasons to spare us."
"A monster? You can still take him, can't you?"
"I wish I could. But he is already on the verge of his Water Affinity Awakening. He learned control like no other and one more push will send him through. Any more and he will surpass even my grandma."
"Grandma Gundre!?"
"Yes. She was so close to achieving Affinity Awakening but the birth of my father forced her to stop. Water is the basis for all life, having a strong water affinity is arguably one of the greatest, legends have spoken of reviving someone on the gates of hell with masters of a Water Affinity Awakening. She told me it was her greatest regret but never wanted to tell my father. He died a hundred years ago, not knowing the truth."
Zeeth, Page, and the rest stopped and kept listening.
Beside them, Emma and Kez were joyously talking to each other about their lives a hundred years ago, Emma told him, "remember when you were twenty and asked if I could tame humans?"
"Yes, I wanted you to tame Mr.Kaslin next door because I thought you were lonely not having someone to love," said Kez sheepishly.
"Oh, you silly boy!" She laughed, "I still can't believe you haven't aged a day! We must thank Zeeth for getting you out of there."
"Yeah, and Zero."
A woman nearby wearing a suit and glasses, who had been wandering around seemingly looking for something, perked up at them and asked happily, "do you two know Zeeth? Are you aware of where I may find him?"
"Who are you?"
"Right, sorry!" she said, respectfully bowing, "my name is Linda Lang, I work with Serkle and I want to offer Zeeth a job opportunity."
"Serkle?"
"Yes! Have you heard of us?"
"Nope." Kez waves his hand, "but I doubt the kid wants a job."
"No, not a job. Just a one-time commission. Do you know where he is?"
"I think he said Fahlhala?" Pishku interjected.
"Ah, thank you." Linda bowed to him as well and got in her magic cart, speeding away.
"Master, why did you tell her?"
"Because Zeeth already knows. And we need a distraction or something to keep him where we can watch him."
Zeeth was asking Page, 'what's an Affinity Awakening?'
Page became suddenly serious. The information they just heard from Pishlu was suddenly cut off. Page stood up, looked at Elton, and said, 'look around the area for us, would you? Pishku knows that we know, he might send someone to watch us. This is a serious matter and we can't have it leaked.'
'Okay.' Elton clacked, standing up. He stretched his bones out and launched his hands outwards, his bones flying off. His other hand did the same and it flung him outwards. His legs did the same, the bones leaving each other and flying out as he took massive steps around the land. It was magic he saw the Three-Eyed Cult do and learned from the monks, he could stretch mana between all his joints and separate his body while keeping them connected with rubber-like magic, snapping them shut and open whenever he wanted.
Black responded, 'when you become so proficient with an element that it doesn't feel like you are controlling it anymore, but that it has become quite literally you. That's when you awaken. I've seen them happen, and the difference between having been awakened and being on the verge of being awakened is drastic.'
'Drastic is an understatement.'
But Page had to stop talking, Elton had come back from his quick survey of the land and reported, 'guys, this is serious. I couldn't see all too well since we are still far away, but Fahlhala seems to be in trouble. There's some kind of water bubble surrounding them and the magnetic walls and cannons have fallen.'
Memories of the human children, elves, and dwarves there hit them and they all began running again, this time as fast as they could, without sparing any strength. Elton slung himself around, Eddie charged like a bull, steam hissing from all over his body, and not even twenty minutes later, they arrived at the walls. Sure enough, walls were demolished and not a single person there.
The floor beneath them became mud and their feet sunk in but Zeeth heated the floor up while moving the floor and dried it back up, causing it to crumble away and Yem to buster out, rubbing her head. "Why the hell did you do that?! Ow, my head…"
"You! Demon! You killed Cuddles!" Zeeth swung out his sword and sent a hard water whip at her.
'Guys, leave her alone.' Page said, 'she's Zeeth's opponent. Let's go get the rest.'
'Will you be alright?' Skwil asked, still on his head.
"Yeah."
Page tried running ahead but Yem shot a jet of water in front of him, stopping him. "I haven't been just sitting around this past year. After I was beaten out of the hole, I made a contract. I captured towns and became a queen. Not even the sticks man can handle me, he's the next in line to die."
"Overconfidence is bad, young lady," said Page, "Zeeth, if you may."
Zeeth swung two fingers up and the rushing jet of water exploded into a shower of water. Yem's eyes widened and her pupils dilated as she tried to hide her surprise and the backlash she just got from having her magic so violently disrupted.
'It's only been a year and he's not angry. how did he do that?' She growled and focused on Zeeth, drawing her claws and creating a dome of water around her and Zeeth as the others ran by, 'Yemisia can handle the rest. This boy is too dangerous.'
Tiny water balls formed around her body, so close and small that Zeeth couldn't take them over.
Page ran off, looking for any survivors. Alba looked fondly at Leia, who was now glowing white and focusing on her newly acquired skill. She suddenly remembered, "my crystal orb! Oh gosh, it's still in the main building!"
