Pinky crawled over and began healing the skin from the inside. Dadan grinned at the view of Zeeth in pain, holding his arms and rubbing them as they hurt. He clapped his hands together again, allowing the light to shine from his hands. Zeeth held an open palm out to his side, confusing many students, but in the next moment, Dadan's head appeared in Zeeth's palm.
Zeeth whispered, "those scars on your arm are from yourself, right?"
Dadan's eyes widened and he couldn't speak.
"Teleportation isn't for faster traveling," he coldly explained. "It's used for your enemies. To send them at your own fist at incredible speeds. Like you have done on your own just now."
Dadan tried to get loose and clap his hands again but Zeth wouldn't let him go. He was distorting the mana around him and his tiny, flimsy circle couldn't get past it.
"And the good thing is that you can decorate it as a good magic cast wrong. Harming magic generally has a darker color, closer to blood. The closer it is to true blood, the more harm it was made to cause. Teleportation is a really bright color because it was made with circles to help yourself or your allies. But it's too strong for that. So it really just hurts others."
'Why are you giving a circle lesson?'
'He managed to apply teleportation circles to himself. Even if someone else did it, he's still an asset I want to keep.'
Dadan swung his hand over, tapping Zeeth's side and sending him a short distance away.
His face distorted into an unnatural scowl, disgustingly glaring, "eh? Who the hell told you you could touch me?"
Dadan nearly jumped away from the horrifying face but Zeeth held his face and said, 'Black, don't take control without permission.'
He let go of his face and it was his usual, cold, uncaring eyes. Zeeth activated the magic from his slimes, activating the magic and propelling Dadan at him, knocking him out with a swift jab to the face.
Just before he fell asleep, Zeeth whispered, "find me if you want strength."
"Stronger… stronger…" The word echoed in Dadans head before hitting the floor, unconscious.
While they were fighting, other students went hunting golems but the fight was so dangerous that many stopped hunting to watch. They couldn't believe their eyes, it wasn't even a close battle. It was a one-sided fight that wasn't even too interesting.
"Guys, c'mon! We had a plan!" Izola yelled, "who's next?"
"Then why don't you go?" someone else shouted.
"Because that's not the order! Who is next!"
The students formed a ring around Zeeth and he let them.
'Break the circle before they make it,' Black called out.
'No. they're so weak, it'd be more fun if I let them do their plan.'
Black simply sighed in the gloom.
Each student held out a gold emblem that created yellow shields around them, surrounding him. The shields had jagged edges that fit together like puzzle pieces. And with the shields, they felt free to push him around, confident he couldn't get them. They occasionally opened the shields and shot magic and taunts at him. A stake landed near him as the caster yelled, "what? Is the baby too scared to fight? Hahaha!!"
"Look at him! He won't even do anything!"
"Let's spit at him, haha!"
Zeeth released a slime that slammed against one of the shields, flinging two people aside and breaking the circle. It continued until it killed the largest golem, crushing it to bits and taking the hammer that it became. "Your plan was to stall me by attacking one by one while the rest collect artifacts? Alright, come on then. Fight me. Come all at once, let's get this over with."
Black sighed but no one else dared to even move for fear that he would attack them. The golems kept coming from the walls but they were too small and few to disturb them. The larger ones were already destroyed by teams the moment the game started and the ones coming from the walls were mostly small.
Dadan appeared behind Zeeth, holding him in a chokehold, pulling him towards a wall. Zeeth stumbled back and pinned him against the rocks, trying to elbow his ribs. But just as his elbow came in, Dadan clapped his hands and teleported away, slamming the elbow against the wall, creating cracks that stretched across and a small, crumbling crater. The wall trembled, forming the largest golem in the room, it had to bend over to prevent its head from hitting the ceiling and it scraped it. The crater came out with it with gems growing around it like armor. The gems glowed, collecting mana, and shot a beam, of course, ground gems.
They hit Zeeth, scraping against the skin and instantly ripping pieces off, causing a ton of pain to the skin and pushing them aside. The sandblast followed Zeeth around, which only attacked the skin and caused it to squirm away again. He ran in to stab it from its side, utilizing its slow reaction time. His fist connected with the golem but some stinging pain shocked him and blew him away. As he flew back, he created a blanket of hot rocks to cover the golem.
"It's an electric sand golem?" Zeeth rubbed his fists, analyzing the golem.
"Half right," said a muffled voice from the walls.
"Dirt!"
"So you do remember me. Then you have a plan in place, right?" he chuckled. The walls split apart like water and a tall, lanky man stepped out from the darkness. "Zeeth."
"Zeeth? That's not Zeeth." Dadan rasped.
"Yeah, this kid can't be Zeeth."
But there was a certain change to Dirt. He didn't look like the image or the video.
"You aren't Dirt."
"I am. And I need you to die for a moment."
"Dirt was taller. Maybe fatter too."
Dirt swept his hair aside and then shrunk it. "It won't matter even if you knew. I awakened my talent here so I can look like anyone I can imagine. Honestly, I was surprised by the little bug you put on me. How did you know it was me?"
"We spoke."
"What?"
"You don't know, but I spoke to Hetio about you. You stayed at this school for three years and then just last month, you suddenly came to Hetio to work for him. You never even set foot in the library before but you changed from the silent, lonely kid into the studious kind. It was odd so I tracked you. And my hunch was right."
"You're right. It's me. But in the end, none of it matters."
Zeeth felt a powerful influx of magic explode from Dirt. no, it wasn't Dirt, his magic paled in front of this tornado of mana. Zeeth swung his hands out, stabilizing the mana, but it fought back and broke away.
"I can't stop it. I've always been practicing with natural mana, this one's actually controlled."
'Run.'
'What about the students?'
'They can run on their own.'
The angel popped out, yelling, "do you not feel its strength? These children won't survive! You have to stop it."
"Just leave," the devil rasped, sitting on his shoulder, holding his ear. "It's the only way to live."
"You can't do that! The devil doesn't care if others die."
"Because if they die, we can still live. Angel, you're being unreasonable."
"You're being too negative! Other people matter!"
"Angel. I'm being serious here. This thing is too strong for us."
From the passage behind Dirt, a bruised, rotting zombie frighteningly stepped out, surprisingly calmly.
[Undead Grandmaster: Detro Delitri.
Powerful magical abilities. 5 skills expert level. Electricity and artifact manipulation affinities awakened.
Undead effects: unable to feel pain, unable to think properly, easily manipulated, incredibly absorbent, mana +300%
Strength, speed, durability -90%
Decaying.]
Detro had a messy goatee and hair tied in a bun. Upon seeing his stats, Zeeth thought he could easily take him. The majority of his physical skills were ruined and if it was only his mana, then shouldn't a single attack end him?
Above, Sieda perked her head up as the visor on her head broke. 'White, what's going on?'
White took over the body, putting Sieda in the back, and said, "about time."
The students around her hunting golems didn't notice her at all. A few even pushed her out of their way while trying to walk by, snickering as she bounced away. White took the pieces of the visor off and grabbed one of the giggling girls' faces.
"you wanna do that again?" she asked. Her hands dug into her face, ready to pop it. White opened all three of her eyes, which were all glowing pearly white.
A roar erupted from the distance. In an open plain, a single white horn rose from the ground, appearing black against the sun.
Even underground, Zeeth could feel it. Black realized immediately it was one of White's monsters.
Dande was the only one left above the dungeon and she saw the white horn tumble around far away, walking into towns and demolishing entire blocks with a single step. She saw soldiers hitting it with all that they had but nothing they did seemed to matter. It dug its head underground and flung up in a sudden motion, flinging rubble, ice, and rocks everywhere like an explosion. Its head was smooth and white, seemingly deflecting most of its magic. It kept turning around like it was looking for something, but its spikes tore through the ground, pushing people aside.
Zafrakos angrily stepped forward, chucking stone tablets at Dirt and Detro. Dirt deflected the circles with darkness, which circled back and headed for Detro. "Why are you guys here?"
Detro smashed the circles but the moment his hands touched the plates, mana ran through it from Detro and activated it, releasing all sorts of magic at him. When the fog settled, students stopped screaming and were all huddled against the stairs to leave. Detro's head was bent upside down, his hands and arms were split into frays and his legs crumbled.
"Because we needed to hide." Dirt didn't seem to mind his particles floating away.
"No, I mean why are you here, disturbing me. Working as a useless professor trying to teach these useless children is tiring enough. No one has talent and everyone who does is annoying. Now I have to deal with you?!"
He held his hands in the air, creating a circle of light. A furious flaming face flew forward, engulfing Dirt in a burning whirlwind.
"Woah. Zafrakos actually has skills."
'His main affinity is light. It's one of the weakest skills with one of the highest potentials and most difficult to train. Honestly, I'm surprised and respect him for achieving what he has so far. But I've met dragons who can bend light at will and immerse others in darkness while burning others with concentrated beams. Some even declared they could become light and travel at light speed but I've never seen it before.'
Dirt fell to the ground, charred and still burning. Zafrakos turned around, letting out a small "hmph." of triumph.
A rotting, bony hand clasped around his neck, still collecting the particles from the air. Zafrakos didn't even have time to register the touch before an electric current shocked him until he foamed and passed out. Dirt got up, dusted the black soot off, and set the flames out with a nearby water golem, popping it over himself like a balloon.
Above the mountain, Dande received a yelling parrot that screeched, "Dande, head for the Ice Bolluma we need you there! Now!"
"But we're both ice attributes, I won't help!"
"Now!" it repeated. "All hands on deck! Dragon subspecies! Incredibly dangerous!"
She threw the parrot in the air and grunted while taking off five rings. She created a path of ice, a pair of ice boots on wheels, crystal fans, and pushed herself off with the parrot behind her. She rolled her eyes, "You can leave, parrot! I'm heading there!"
She released jets of water from her hand, pushing herself against the ground while creating steam and walls behind her to push herself further.
Zeeth eyed Detro and his status simply read: healing. He had no emotions or pain and operated only logically. But the healing factor wasn't part of his original description.
'So how is he healing?'
'An outside factor. Maybe there's a third person in there.'
'Really?'
'Did you expect a second person after Dirt?'
Black showed him what he saw, which was a faint trace of pink mist wandering around Detro from the hole. While Dirt was still rubbing off the soot, Zeeth punched Detro, who caught his fist with his hand and shocked him, sending flashes of lightning around him, lighting up the room.
The angel smiled at him and puffed into a fog of yellow mist that granted him momentary strength. But the strength wasn't helping him mentally, and the shock he felt shook him to his core, reminding him of all the torture he went through as a kid. He jumped away, holding his trembling fist, trying to stop his fear.
'I have nothing to fear. I'm stronger now. I can avoid this.' the demon clung onto his hair and whispered, "what did I tell you."
"How are you still here?"
"I don't know. I just noticed that I could so I did. Maybe I'm becoming more of my own person so I get to dictate what I do more now."
Dirt cackled behind Detro's sparking hand. "I've noticed things about you, Zeeth!"
The students behind, still watching, gasped. Some even yelled, "that's not Zeeth!"
"You have a fear of electricity, right? That talent test. It scarred you." He squinted his eyes, trying to figure out Zeeth, "The numbers read 0% but machines aren't perfect. Unless you're stupid, which you aren't, you would have a natural fear for whatever caused you pain."
A bolt of electricity shot at Zeeth. He flinched and panicked momentarily, allowing it to hit the skin. The moment the skin was shocked, it crawled off him against his will, despite all of Black's efforts, and revealed him, a much thinner, sharper face. But most importantly, students realized, "Zeeth! The man in the videos!"
"Is that why you chose Dande's father? To kill two of us at once? Kill me with lightning and kill Dande with the surprise of her father."
"Partially."
The second bolt of electricity charged at Zeeth, this time with a curve. Zeeth saw it coming and blocked it with a wall of ice, giving his lightning slime a chance to familiarize himself with it.
Dirt placed a hand on Detro, whispering, "I didn't tell you to shoot."
Detro cranked his head back, snapping his neck and rolling his eyes back to look Dirt in the eyes, and said, "you… don't… control… me…"
A third bolt chased after Dirt instead, who hit the ground, twitching.
