Moon Walker (Part 2)

The arrow's shaft was smooth and straight. Murphy held it by the tail and managed to force it into the hard, wooden desk with a little force.

Based on Murphy's estimations, this arrow was probably a very valuable piece of equipment!

In terms of material alone, Murphy found the arrow very difficult to analyze.

That was because he didn't really know much about the metals that existed in this world. Although he'd heard that the dwarves, who had returned to the surface of the earth, produced a rare metal called "refined gold," Murphy hadn't seen it up close in person. Also, according to the rumors, the refined gold in the smelt was actually a golden yellow color, and the color was as bright as actual gold!

Could it be mithril?

Murphy estimated the weight of the arrow. Compared to the steel arrows used for crossbows, this arrow was slightly heavier, which wasn't consistent with the properties of the legendary lightweight mithril.

In this ancient plane, mithril had originally been extracted by the descendants of the giants. It was a type of magical metal, and the giants could only wear body armor that they forged from this metal. In this world, the descendants of the giants, even with their powerful physical strength, probably wouldn't be able to move after donning body armor that weighed nearly a ton.

Right now, the descendants of the giants were half-blooded giants, and they were much smaller in size compared to the giants of the past, but their population size had increased significantly.

Just like how there were a lot more grassland elves and wood elves than there were pureblooded high elves!

This was the natural evolution of races over time!

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"Human, I've come to retrieve what rightfully belongs to me," Rose Tyland said, standing in the window. Her large gray-black cloak covered her entire body, and only a pair of pointed ears could faintly be seen. Her silhouette was slender and graceful. As a moonwalker, and as a woman and a high elf, Rose Tyland had always taken great care of her figure.

Most moonwalkers spent most of their time wandering in the wilderness and had little need for material items. They weren't good at communicating with other creatures, even though they were proficient in most languages. At present, all the intelligent creatures on the mainland spoke a language that had developed from 26 letters, and had evolved from the high elven language. This included the popular language of the giants, but didn't include the ancient language of the Titans from past eras.

Rose Tyland was one of the high elves among the moonwalkers who were better at communicating, but this was mostly because she had a companion.

Her younger sister, Phantom Tailan Yali, was a druid with extraordinary talent!

However, her sister, who had such extraordinary talent, made a small mistake when she was researching Druid Transfiguration and ended up transfiguring herself into a small black kitten that looked like a cheetah. In fact, at first Rose had been opposed to her younger sister's research into Druid Transfiguration, because at the end of the previous era, the knowledge the wild druids had passed down had already become distorted, so whatever was currently being passed down was incomplete and inaccurate.

Before the [Teachings of the Earth] had been found, Rose Tyland felt that restoring the wild druids' passed down wisdom was simply impossible.

This was the biggest difference between Rose Tyland and her younger sister.

In order to convince her stubborn sister, Rose Tyland had even practiced her oral skills to become more eloquent.

However, she ultimately failed.

Phantom Tailan Yali's stubbornness and pride were as astounding as her talent!

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Murphy's heart skipped a beat, and he turned around and saw the delicate and gentle figure by the window.

It was an elf!

It had a very unique voice with a magnetic, husky quality, as if the person had been through the earth's many changes.

Because he wasn't familiar with elves, Murphy couldn't judge whether the mysterious visitor was a male or female elf just by listening to its voice.

In the legends, elves were very tall and slender. They were handsome and beautiful and liked to pursue art and perfect, beautiful things. Of course, in Murphy's opinion, rather than saying that this was a racial characteristic of elves, it was more accurate to say that the elves' civilization had developed to such an extent that it afforded them a comfortable lifestyle, and they had enough time and energy to pursue spiritual pleasures.

At least, no one had ever heard of an elf famine.

But humans often had them.

Based on Murphy's estimations, the elf who had come to visit him was probably a female. His intuition was telling him so, but he also believed this because the other party had flicked her long hair back several times.

Women subconsciously liked to adjust their hair and clothes. This was especially true of female elves, who were of a race that kept beauty in such high regard.

"Is this it?" Murphy asked as he pulled the silver-white mithril arrow out from the drawer.

He had never dealt with elves before, but he could guess that elves probably didn't like to listen to nonsense. After all, they weren't officials of a celestial empire, and they didn't understand what bureaucracy was.

As such, Murphy got right to the point.

"That's it," Rose Tyland said, nodding. She liked the direct way this human spoke. It was straightforward and frank!

She had seen too much hypocrisy in living creatures, so she had always preferred this simple and direct way of talking.

Moreover, the other party was smart.

It was always pleasant to speak with smart people!

Without the slightest hesitation, Murphy raised his hands and threw the silver-white Mithril arrow over to her. He said in a deep voice: "Thank you for saving my life! If you ever meet any trouble in the future, you can get someone to take this arrow and look for me!"

When Murphy said this, he said it with a lot of self-confidence.

Even Rose-Tyland, a high elf with the title of [Moonwalker], couldn't help but be slightly moved by this sort of confidence!

Rose Tyland nodded and expressed her agreement. She was reminded of how the man in front of her had displayed such perseverance and fearlessness that night.

In fact, things really are simple and straightforward.

Take the Mithril Armor Piercing Arrow in Rose Tyland's hands, for example. In terms of value, it definitely wasn't any less valuable than any famous weapon on the mainland! However, even though it took the high elves a lot of hard work to make the nine Mithril Armor Piercing Arrows, it had a very simple name. "Mithril," which was the material it was made from, and "Armor Piercing Arrow," which was what the arrow was capable of doing.

Unlike the humans, the higher elves didn't use some verbose and exaggerated adjectives to describe something simple.

Their love for detail and gracefulness was exclusively reserved for the arts.

It didn't matter whether the elves' beliefs were good or bad, because a person's beliefs only reflects on them.

Higher elves were such a group of ancient and traditional intelligent living beings, and their temper was sometimes just like the tree of life… even and calm.

Well, there was something that needed to be mentioned here.

The Mithril Armor Piercing Arrow was originally crafted to deal with the black dragon.

As Rose Tyland was about to leave, Murphy asked her for her name.

This question made Rose Tyland feel slightly awkward.

This was because according to the high elven tribes' old-fashioned pride, a mortal had no business knowing the name of a high elf, especially when that elf was a female elf of high status.

However, in her eyes, this human in front of her seemed to be slightly different from regular humans.

In him, Rose Tyland seemed to glimpse the start of a new era. She seemed to see in him the human heroes who had walked this earth before him.

In that primitive and wild time, the famous human heroes from the beginning of time had fought against the brutal mythical beasts that were leftover from the last era. Those original human heroes died fearlessly and used their blood to clear a way to victory. They relied on their weak power and great wisdom and made those powerful mythical beasts fall to their feet.

And finally, the humans managed to win the land that was needed for mankind to survive!

The southern plains was just one of such lands.

After hesitating for a while, Rose Tyland said two simple words:

"Rose. Moonwalker."
