My Husband's Lover (19)

It did not take long for us to get home. Right after lunch, we arrived. I went to my room right away to continue reading Yanyu's diary.

Just as I had positioned myself, Guowei came running into my room.

"Yanyu, we have to sleep together," he said while panting.

I threw the book at him. "Are you crazy?"

"We need to, Yanyu."

"Has your taste changed Guowei? What about Liqin?"

"My taste has not changed. And even if it has changed, I still would not like you."

That annoyed me. If Liqin or Guoliang said it, it would be sarcasm. But Guowei said it with a straight face. Even though he was panting, his vibe still shouted authority. The way he said it made it seem like it was a fact. It was not.

"Wow. And you think you're so lovable yourself?"

"Enough with the chitchat. Hurry up and prepare your things. Bring them to my room. No, never mind. Just go to my room. The servants will do that."

"No way. I'm going to stay here," I said while splaying my legs and arms on my bed.

"Yanyu, hurry up. There is no time to waste."

"Then don't waste your time here." I stood up and walked towards where the diary landed. "I'm going to stay here. I do my thing and you do your thing."

I was about to go lie down on my bed again when Guowei carried me.

"You leave me no choice," he said.

"Guowei! Put me down!"

I struggled but Guowei continued walking to his room.

"Stop moving."

On our way, I saw Liqin. I shouted, "Liqin! Help me!"

He just mouthed the following words: Sorry. I cannot help you right now.

When I saw Guoliang in the yard, I shouted again. "Guoliang! Your brother is going to rape me!"

He turned around and gave me a big smile. He showed two thumbs up and mouthed the words: Good luck.

"Noooooooooooooooooo!!!"

Even though it was tiring, I glared at Guowei for hours. I made sure he knew about how angry I was. He finally stopped writing and said, "No matter how much you glare at me, it will not make a hole in my head."

"No problem. The plan is just to annoy you."

"Yanyu, you have really become childish. Did you hit your head when you fell in the lake?"

"Maybe." I crossed my arms. "Guowei, just let me go back to my room. You do not need to play the husband role now. I know you and Liqin like each other. And you know that I like Guoliang."

"The emperor will be coming."

"So? Did his majesty request for us to make out? You've got one heck of a perverted emperor."

"We only need to sleep in the same room."

"Why in the world do we need to do that just because the emperor will be coming? Is that a special request?"

Guowei turned to me and said, "Yanyu, do not forget that he is the reason why we married. He chose you for me."

I did not forget that. How could I forget something I did not even know?

"Fine. We'll sleep in one room. But we're not sleeping now. I'll come back here when it's time to sleep."

"No, you need to stay here. We do not know when his majesty will arrive."

I rolled my eyes. "The goal is for him to know that we sleep in one room. Why do I need to stay beside you all the time?"

"Just do it. It is a form of respect. He really wished us well when he chose you for me."

"Does Liqin know about this?"

Guowei nodded.

So that was why Liqin acted that way earlier. Guoliang must have known about it too.

"Okay. I'll stay beside you all the time so that his majesty will know how happily married we are," I sarcastically said. "But let me go back to my room for a while. I'm going to get something."

"You stay here. I will go get it." He stood up. "What is it?"

"Guowei, it won't take hours for me to get the book. You're being dramatic."

"Book? What are you going to do with it?"

"Anything except reading it. That's what you do with books, right? You don't read books."

Talking with Guowei really made me use all of my sarcasm.

"But you do not like reading. You threw your books at Liqin a few months ago. You have changed."

"I didn't change." I sat down and said under my breath, "You just didn't care enough to get to know Yanyu."

"What is the title of the book and where did you put it?" he asked.

"It has no title. The color is brown. I think it's on the floor. It fell down when you gently carried me out," I sarcastically said. "Don't read it."

In just a few minutes, Guowei returned with Yanyu's diary in hand.

"Here," he said as he gave it to me.

Liqin shouted at me today. But it was my fault. I left his other bag at school. It was small and could only take up one object. Although I had not seen what was inside it, I knew it was important to Liqin.

When I went there to take it back, it was gone. Liqin avoided me the whole day. He did not even wait for me and went home by himself. I stayed to looked for it. I found it near the oldest tree. It was broken. I checked its content and it was a jade pendant. The pendant was broken too. But I had the same pendant.

I went home and changed the broken pendant with mine. I was about to go to where Liqin temporarily stayed to return it, but he was already there outside our house. Liqin apologized to me for the way he treated me. I also apologized to him because I was at fault.

When I gave him the pendant, he thanked me many times. I did not tell him that it was not his pendant. Liqin told me that it was from a boy he met in his childhood. He was going to use the pendant to look for the boy to thank him.

Thank goodness I had the same pendant.
