At that moment Eleanor felt a great loss, something inside her broke. It wasn't like she felt all that because of the witch's sad fate but because of the fact that she saw herself in her place. She imagined how they would look at her,....how he would look at her if he knew her identity. The simple thought of seeing him reject her or condemn her, hurt her more than she could fantom. But despite her fear, she believed that something must be done in order to save an innocent life. She looked at him for what seemed like an eternity and thougth, 'Do you have to go this far?....must it end up like this? I don't want to make thing hard for you, I get what you must have went through. That's why I wouldn't mind it if you cursed at me for the things I am gonna do. It is okay, I am willing to be the bad guy here...maybe one day you will understand what I meant while doing this.'
Thinking that the meeting ended Sebastian and Val were ready to leave but they were stopped by Eleanor's words. After taking a deep breath she said with an expression that they never saw before,
"Then why don't you put me in jail too?"
Francis frowned and weirdly at her words and with the expression she had, he felt his heart bitting anxiously. He couldn't comprehend the meaning of his anxiety at that moment and just brushed it off. He looked at her while narrowing his eyes suspicious of what she meant by that and said,
"What do you mean by that?"
"Since you detain every person that seem to be a witch, you should do it to me too then...."
It didn't take much for Alphonse to understand what she was trying to say hence before things got out of hand he interfered and said,
"Francis,...I think that she is just shocked at the fate concerning that witch because she felt pity for her...That's why she is saying all this.." He turned toward Eleanor and continued while holding her by the shoulders,
"Lea, you don't have to say all this for the sake of a woman you don't even know."
As he told her that, her eyes were still locked on Francis and after pushing off his hands she wanted to continue what she didn't finish but was stopped by Alphonse.
"Please Lea! don't do something that could end up hurting you."
This time she looked at him and smiled sadly while squeezing his hand on hers.
"I am sorry Al...But I need to do this. I must do it!"
Francis got terribly irritated at the sigh and coldly said,
"Can you not waste our time and get to the point, we don't have all day...and Alphonse, stop interfering."
Valeria smirked while putting her hand before her lips as if she was mocking Eleanor and liked how Francis was treating her with indifference.
Eleanor's faint smile for Alphonse quickly disappeared and after looking toward Francis she said one of her most important secret that she keeped for herself up until now,
"I am a witch...."
All the faces in the room aside for Alphonse
turned white from shock. They didn't expect that this revelation would come out of her and she didn't look like a witch at all so it was hard to believe. In anger Francis stood up from his chair and said,
"Are you kidding right now?....BECAUSE THIS IS NOT FUNNY LEA!!" A loud crash echoed through the room in sync with his shouting. He threw in anger a cup of tea toward the wall as he shouted at her.
Valeria jolted at the sudden burst of anger from him and didn't know what to do expect looking intensely at the cup of tea that she gripped with strengh. Eleanor in contrary didn't seem fazed by his violent behavior and still looked at him and calmely answered,
"No, I am not, it is the true!"
Alphonse pleaded to her to stop her and called her name,
"Lea!"
"Alphonse! stay out of this!" Francis shouted to him with his eyes still on Eleanor and told her,
"Then prouve it! right now!"
"As you wish.." She said that and just after pronounced a spell loudly enough for them to hear it, she looked at the cookies on the table and a moment after she finished saying her spell those cookies levitated in the air. Sebastian's eyes went wide from surprise while Val quickly rushed toward Francis with his hand ready to unsheathe his sword and his
expression as cold and mercyless as a heartless knight.
Francis was standing there speechless his face only showing surprise and he had a hard time believing what he witnessed. Sebastian who regained his usuall seriousness said after walking toward Francis,
"Your majesty, what should we do with her. Do we lock her up with the other witch while deciding of her sentence."
Weirdly as Sebastian said that, Eleanor could see beneath the surprised look on Francis's face some sadness. Though, she couldn't make sure of that because he hide his eyes with his hand and said,
"Yes do that, lock her up or kill her, I don't want to see her face anymore...take her!"
Though she was prepared to hear them, the cruelty of his words still crushed her heart to pieces. She did all she could to not cry but a drop of tear still managed to flow on her right cheek as she said to him for the last time before been taken,
"Francis,...I wish you to live happily, without pain and I wish you could let your heart see the truth that's beyong what you seem to look at."
After she said those words, he looked at her and saw her smiling with an immeasurable sadness in her eyes. He felt like those words meant a last good bye from her and that made him unsettled. 'Why does it feel like something is wrong....Why do I feel like this is wrong and that it shouldn't end like this. Until now, I always treated the witches like this because of that damned curse and I never regretted it. She is clearly a witch and it is only right to lock her up. But then, why can I not seem to be able to look at her like an enemy....Why am I wavering when it come to her, on what I always did easily on the past.'
He was overwhelmed by all the confused thought as Sebastian and Val were escorting her out of the room. Francis called for Sebastian and told him,
"Be sure to treat her well.."
Sebastian was stunned of what Francis just said and thought that he hear it wrong and asked,
"What did you say....your majesty?!"
"I said to treat her well is that difficult, now get out."
"Uh! very well your majesty I will do as you wish.."
They left the office and Francis felt his heart bitting fast and anger rising up. He didn't expect this result, that she would be one of those people he despised so much. As soon as he was in contact with a witch he always felt disdain or disgust but weirdly he never felt that way toward Eleanor even when she showed him her witch ability. 'Did she do something to me with her witchcraft?!' He couldn't come to hate her or to be with her, because of the fact that she was important to him and that she was a witch.
