Popping the Question

As Seth's car pulled up to the front of her house, thoughts began firing off in his brain. What is she just slams the door again? What if she rejects my idea? What if she screams at me? As always these thoughts went through, but what Seth didnt notice was that his feet had already carried him to the door.

"Sh*t!" he though when he noticed were he was, but it was too late.

" Its you", she said as she began to open the door. "I hoped I would never see you again".

"Uhhhhhh", said Seh as he had not idea what to say.

" Well if that is all you have to say, then get lost". She stated angrily as the door began to close.

"Wait, please, I just wanted to thank you, and apologize for earlier". He finally blurted out as he handed her the flowers he had purchased earlier. "I also wanted to talk to you and ask for a favor."

She responded "Well at least you apologized, so I guess you can come in". was her response as she slowly opened the door back up.

After entering her house, he went with her and sat down in the living room. "Would you like some tea". she politely asked.

"Yes, chamomile if you have it."

"Well lucky for you that is all I have", she responded after entering the kitchen.

He began to take notice of her house. It had a nice homly.feeling despite being so large. With multiple antiques and family photos hanging from the wall.

It was at this point that she came back in, wearing an apron and holding a pot of chamomile tea. And it was at this point that he began to notice her features as well. It seems that she was definitely the Angel that saved him that night. Flowing locks of brown air. Mischievous green eyes. And a beauty that seemed radiate all over her body, from her face to her feet.

"Well, what did you want to say", she said snapping him out of a daze.

"Well first I would like to profusely apologize again, and thank you for saving my life."

"Yes, yes I already understand that, but what was it you wanted to ask me."

"Well it's a long story".

"I got plenty of time" she responded

"Alright then" said seth, as he began to explain to her his past. Everything from his fiance's and best friend's betrayal, to his parents passing, to the incident at the bridge, he explained everything. And when he was finished she asked.

"So what does this have to do with me?"

"Well my ex-best friend is going to be at the funeral in a few days with you know who, since his family has always been family friends of ours". "And I was wondering if you would be willing to come with me, and act as girlfriend while I'm there."

Before he could respond he continued, "Before you give me my answer, I want you to know that this situation is really awkward and painful for me. I have no other female friends that I could ask, and if you did this I would compensate you in anyway you wish. So please."

She stared at him pensively and said. "Alright, I'll agree to it, but one one condition".

"Anything."

"You have to tell me why you chose me. We barely know eachother, and I'm betting their are plenty of other women fawning over you."

He thought about it for a moment and then responded "Well you see, while I may not know you very well I certainly know you at least a little bit more than most other women. You see, any of those women are only after my looks, or more typically my money, but you rejected it all, and I seems you are a fairly level headed person who is willing to help those in need, and I respect that about you."

She stared at him dumbfounded for a moment, that said, "Well that is as good of an answer as I'll ever get, so sure I'll do it."
