The Phoenix’s Ancestor

"Your kind certainly had their share of dark history, Major." The alien voyager commander told me as it showed another image on the holograph.

It is an image of a person?

The first image was a young man, looked like he was in either his late twenties or early thirties, somehow with a physical appearance greatly resembling mine.

But it was not me….

"Subject Z.X., this picture was taken in your planet's year of around 1967 to 1971." It continued.

"This young man was a result of various experiments conducted by a group of your own kind known as Nazi. Concepted exactly a hundred Earth years ago, and the result was yielded three Earth years later."

A subject? A human experiment conducted by Nazi Germany?

"He was also your grandfather, Major." It looked at me straight in the eye.

WHAT?!

Large and sharp green eyes, short red spiky hair, dark skinned, large forehead, strong jaw, pointed nose, larger right ear and smaller left ear, and even big chest; those physical appearances were indeed belonged to me. But….

This man… is my grandfather?!

"I hate to break it out to you, but humans resulted from experimentations will never be able to reproduce!" I rejected the fact outrightly.

"Well, but your grandfather did, Major…." Its eyes were not wavering at all.

It all began by the Nazi Olympics taking place in Berlin in 1936. At that time, a particular African-American Olympian caught the attention of a specific Nazi Science sub-division.

They had become inspired to create a great warrior, capable of enduring multiple wounds with excellent sight to know enemies coming from afar, peak self-defence capability, able to employ simple but effective tactics in the midst of battles, fast metabolism to withstand extreme temperatures, and the courage to lead and command large numbers of soldiers in charging into the enemy line first-hand.

And thus, the hunt for potential host to create the baby human was conducted; an African-American young woman which was at that time also their slave labor.

Inseminated by the seed of another slave labor at that time, a large and muscular Russian young man, the baby inside her was monitored 24/7 for exactly eight months before the baby was born…

…on December 31st 1940.

The baby was named 'Subject Z.X.', and the mother died upon giving birth but the baby boy was very much healthy.

However, intelligence from both the United States and USSR at that time had anticipated this; they kidnapped the baby boy to a place very far from Germany.

Upon noticing the baby boy missing, the Nazi turned directly to United States and gave them a harder time in keeping up with the baby's inconsistent locations.

The USSR were forced to deal with the problem alone, and it was not long before the Nazi set its eyes to them too, leaving them no choice but to actually leave the baby boy elsewhere.

It was then, when they had been forced to leave him in a small place in Zabaikalsk, Russia. They had been planning to get back to the boy after about five days in order to get the Nazi heat off of them.

But instead, things just got more complicated after that….

The baby boy had been missing when they returned to the exact same place, and not too far from that place was a fresh grave.

They panicked, dug out the grave while hoping that even if there should be a dead body beneath it, it would not be that baby boy.

And yet, despair and frustration owned them upon finding out that there was indeed a dead baby, already rotting buried under the grave.

They immediately gave up their attempts on trying to get the baby boy on their side, and upon reaching the news both the United States and Nazi completely stopped their hunt too.

Or at least, that was what they had been thinking….

It turned out that on the third night, a very poor couple had taken away the baby boy with them, replacing them with their newly deceased baby boy due to starvation.

The alien voyager commander even could not believe it at first, but once the genetic reading on my blood had been conducted and analysed, there was no room for doubt anymore.

"And when the hell did you exactly get that genetic reading of mine?!"

"One of your closest comrades witnessed with his own eyes a special chamber inside our unmaintained and retired mothership during the first invasion." It explained.

"Inside that chamber, was a number of live recordings written in our words. That was actually the mothership's system analysing you and the rest of your comrades' possible strategies, tactics, and movements against my radical kinds."

I cannot believe this at all!

"Also, you lost a lot of your blood during that final and decisive battle at the top of that mothership, Major." It continued.

The top of that mothership… where I blew off that piece of shit's head with my Browning Automatic Rifle at point blank range….

If I had not have this dextrocardia, then I would surely be-

"That is right, Major." It nodded.

"That was indeed how the mothership analysed your genetic from your spilled blood back then, finally confirming that you and the man on this image is of one lineage. But that was not the fact that convinced me personally."

It was not?

"It was your unique heart condition, the term your kind called dextrocardia." It pointed its hand straight to the direction of my right chest.

"The baby boy, which means the man on this picture, he also has dextrocardia with him where his heart is located more to the right side."

This….

I do not know what else to say….

I never knew who my father was, and my late mother would never want to talk about it. Then, after nearly thirty years of living with that, a living creature from another planet suddenly gave me all of those facts….

It was just too much for me to digest even a tiny bit of that information….

"Surely you must have realized it that not one amongst your closest comrades displayed similar endurance and self-defence capability like you do, Major?" The alien voyager commander opened both of its arms a little.

I had been told over times and again that both the incident in Gdynia and Chicago should not have left me with any chance of survival, if it were not for my own fast metabolism.

Then again, results from every single medical check-up would never reveal facts stated by the alien right in front of me….

"You successfully gave a serious injury to one of my kind, Major. Bare handed." It continued.

"Our overall physical features are significantly stronger than your kind's, even when compared to the weakest one. But you somehow, although barely, are able to match and even countered one of us."

So that is why it chose me to deliver this message to the rest of the world in the first place….

There is one more thing that I would like to try, I guess I am right about it but….

"Seriously injured…" I paused for a moment,

"What about those few others of your kind I shot to their heads and dead on the spot?"

"Was the sky red back then, Major? Or did you at least see an aurora with red color?" It only smiled.

I knew it!

So, none of my shots hit them all along; everyone back then was clouded by the effect of the magnetic field!

"The damage done to the amphibious tank however, was real as you can see here just beside the asteroid." It waved its hand towards the resting tank.

Then, Irving was indeed also on league with Yeon to take me out too….

Does this mean that the whole Crimson Vulture unit has been planning to take out my unit all along?

What is going on?!

Recalling my memory that Gabe asked me if I still remembered how to make the Emergency Morse code machine, to which I replied yes, I knew right away then that he had been suspicious of several people among us….

And in times like that, the possibility of these people still thinking of taking the extraterrestrial technology for themselves instead of working together to end the terror, was still there….

But… should I really fight against Yeon and his men?!

My mission here is to eliminate the aliens, not to agree with them!

Yet, when I gathered all the facts, I could not deny that all the aliens have wanted from the start was peace between humans and their kinds!

Shit! What should I do now?!

Just then, one of the blips on the holograph began to beep faster.

"Looks like one of your subordinates are regaining consciousness, Major…." The alien voyager commander turned its head for a moment to the holograph.

That is most likely Alek! I have to get to them now!

Rushing past the lines of elite alien troops, they were all looking at me as I hurried back to the previous floors, completely ignoring what they might have in their minds.

If what that alien voyager commander said is all true, then I have to get to them both before Yeon does!
