I put my hand down in shock.
This was a two story mansion! Hunter held the door open for me, waiting for me to step inside before he closed it.
Embarrassed, I walked in and took a look around. It wasn't that far off of your basic every day mansion. White marble floor. Quartz stair case not that far ahead. The staircase went halfway up and then split into two, both on either side which finished the climb and a red carpet leading to the staircase. Chandeliers hung down from the ceiling in every room. If you look to the left and the right you'd see two doors leading to different rooms.
Hunter gave me a tour of the bottom half of the house. The two doors I first saw lead to two different offices. Hunter told me one was for his mom and one was for his dad. Behind the staircase was the living room. There was a huge- gigantic TV and a white fluffy couch not too far ahead. Between the TV and the couch there was a fluffy, zebra-striped rug and the whole wall was made out of glass. The other half of the portion behind the stairs was the kitchen. There are no walls separating the living room from the kitchen, nothing but air. The kitchen had a bunch of cabinets and a little island table. The fridge was wedged between some of the cabinets and the sink was attached to the island table.
I walked over to the windows and looked around, there was nothing but the wall surrounding the yard. Hunter walked over and looked out with me.
"It's not very amazing when you look at it from down here." He said.
"What do you mean?"
"The windows are attached to the ones upstairs. To see the valley you'd have to go up there." He explained.
I walked over to the stairs, leaving Hunter at the window. He was staring at something invisible. Lost in his own train of thought. I decided to climb up to see the valley through the upstairs window. As I climbed the stairs something came down on top of me. It was.. water!
A bucket of water splashed down on me, leaving me soaking wet. I gasped feeling the ice cold liquid fall onto me.
A series of laughter followed until I saw a little boy and a little girl run down the stares to me.
"We got you now Hunter!" The boy said. The girl stopped laughing when she saw me. "What's wrong Ysabelle?" The boy asked returning his gaze to me, figuring it out.
The kids gasped wide eyed and quickly bowed to apologize. "We're so sorry miss!" They said at the same time.
I smiled and waved it off. "It's alright!" I said. Not too long after the incident I heard someone running up from behind me. I already knew it was Hunter but the water was so cold, I couldn't move to look.
"Ysabelle and Sebastian go get towels to clean this mess up. I'll take care of Ms. Kokoah." He said, placing his arm around me and glaring at the children.
I blushed and the children ran off. "So sorry about those two. They're troublemakers. Are you okay?" Hunter asked looking down at me.
"It's alright! I'm fine, I should head home and get some spare clothes on." I replied.
"Nonsense. I have something my other younger sister used to wear. It should fit you." He insisted. Another younger sister? How many people live here?
I stumbled up the staircase, shivering each step of the way. Hunter lead me to the restroom and told me I could take a shower and that the maids would help me with the cloths. I hopped into the shower, the warm water was heavenly. When I stepped out there were some ripped (but fashionable) jeans and a tie dye shirt sitting on top of my towel. I dried off and put the clothes on. My hair was super crazy after the shower so I tried brushing it with my hands. It didn't help much but I kept trying. Eventually I gave up and walked out of the bathroom. I ran into a boy who looked like Hunter but had baby blue eyes and had dark brown hair instead of black. He looked the same height as Hunter and I figured they were brothers.
I quickly apologized, blushing at how clumsy I was. The boy looked down at me and smiled he told me to follow him, so I did since I had no idea where Hunter was. The boy took me to a bedroom and told me to sit on a chair at a desk in the corner of the room by the window. He pulled out a brush and started brushing my hair, asking about my life and family.
Once my hair was brushed he put it into pigtails and gave me a toothbrush and some toothpaste. I walked back over to the restroom after thanking him and quickly brushed my teeth. I walked back out and headed towards the stairs. I saw the children playing on the carpet and walked down to join them. The kids assigned me the role of the monster while they were the princess and prince. I chased them around the room until someone called their names and they had to go. I walked back upstairs with them and headed over to the windows to look out across the valley.
It was beautiful. There were so many lights and colors spread across the area. I was too busy looking out I didn't notice someone walked up behind me. The person grabbed me by the waist and embraced me. Surprised, I looked back. I couldn't tell who it was but they seemed familiar. Not knowing what to do, I rested my head against their chest. I stared out the window with the person for a few minutes until they loosened their grip and let me go. I looked back to see Hunter staring at me.
He smiled and turned around to walk downstairs, he signaled me to follow him. I walked down right behind him and he lead me to the kitchen. I hadn't noticed before but there was a door leading to a dining room. Hunter opened it, revealing a long table with 10 chairs but only two empty seats. Hunter went in and sat down signaling me to do the same. I took a seat next to him.
He leaned in my direction and softly whispered, "This is my family."
