Fortify and the First Strange one

After Rick closed the door he walked down the hall. He had to admit he found Sasha attractive but he would not betray Maggie. He found an empty room and went to sleep.

The next morning he gathered everyone up and began to make plans for the day. He wanted to fortify the area while expanding out. There was three hotels in the area. He had already taken one over if he could get the other two he could begin to rescue other people and have them stay here. The goal was to use large pieces of metal and build walls and gates. Afterwards they would head to the power plant for all the electricity in the area and take it over. They would then have everything they needed to begin to spread out. He also wanted to set up forward camps on the top of buildings. He had taught several of his people how to scout and snipe, placing camps on top of the buildings in the area would let them know if anyone or anything was headed their way. Rick also wanted to locate a couple military bases. He remember how the Governor got a hold of a tank and he did not want to be on the receiving end of that. There was also plenty of military gear left in the area. When the survivors camp was overrun a lot was just left in the street.

"Everyone today the building team will be arriving from the compound. We will need a handful of people here for security. I want to make five, ten man teams. These teams are to go around and scout the area. I want gun stores, military out post, and the police station hit. We have a lot of firearms but we will always need more. And if we have the guns it means there are less guns in the hands of any potential enemies. I need you all to also remember that there we can always find more stuff, we cannot find more of you. Nothing out there is going to be worth your life, your survival comes first. Don't be afraid of dropping everything and making it back here. We can always regroup and go get it together." (Rick)

Rick had told himself his first priority would after taking the hotel would be to secure the power plant. It meant nothing if he took all the buildings in the area if he couldn't power them. While all the teams went out, Rick, Shane, Xiang Fe, and Sasha stayed back to plan the attack there.

"I think we should first secure the area around the plant, and then draw all the walkers in. We kill them all and move our way inside." (Shane)

"The problem is we don't know if there are any of the dead inside. It will be dark and narrow. So we will need to draw as many of them out as possible." (Xiang Fe)

"That could work there are three large entrances in to the plant. Once we kill off everything outside, we should secure the area. Then we can make choke points at the doors. We draw the walkers out through these doors, and pick them off one by one. It will be a slow process but we should be able to do it with no casualties." (Shane)

"This plan is good. How many do we send in? (Sasha)

"Thirty would probably work for sweeping the inside. Once we pull most of them out. We will go in with teams of six. Separate and clear the building room by room. Then we will send people in and clean everything out. A few of our engineers are familiar with how to run this place. Most of it is automated these days anyways." (Rick)

The group planned for a few more hours making sure everything would be ready. Rick did not want to loose anyone. He was amazed that they had not had any casualties so far. He wanted to keep it that way. They had great equipment, plenty of man power, and time to plan.

As Rick was leaving he saw Sasha waiting by the door. He knew she wanted to talk about the night before. She had to be mad at him for just leaving her in his room.

"Rick can I talk to you?" (Sasha)

"Is it about last night?" (Rick)

"Yes. I just wanted you to know I am not sorry for being to forward. I am used to just taking what I want, and I want you. I understand why you did not come in. I also respect your decision. Just know that I am still coming for you and I will get you to fuck me. I know now that I have to get your woman on board. Until then I will continue to test your will power." (Sasha said while rubbing her hand on his chest as she walked away.)

Rick stood there for a minute trying to figure the Russian women out. He had been with his fair share of women. He hardly understood the nature of any of them. But Sasha was in a league of her own. He had no qualms against being with multiple women but he would not hurt people who loved and cared for him.

Afterwards Rick tracked down Carl and a few others. He wanted to take the boy out for scouting and a supply run. He had Shane, Xiang Fe, and a few others from the groups come with him. The were heading to a store in the area. They wanted to get some more food and basic supplies. At their current pace they were using more then they were bringing in. There was still a huge amount of resources left behind. The city had gone into marshal law fairly quick. This stopped most of the looting and rioting.

The group arrived at a local Walmart. They parked the box truck they brought at the back dock doors. The group was going guns free in the store. The were using Kris Vectors that were integrally suppressed.

They pried open a door. Once inside they banged a metal pipe off the wall, and then stepped back outside. Four walkers came outside and Rick had Carl take them out while everyone walked backwards. Carl was able to accurately take all four out with four shots.

"I'm proud of you boy that was some good shooting." (Shane said while patting Carl's head)

Once inside everyone was excited and ready to clear this place out. You could tell that it had already been gone over once or twice, but there was still a ton of food and supplies left.

Rick had everyone stick together as the moved through the building. There were no windows inside and even with flashlights it was still very dark.

The further the group in, the stiller the air was. There was also a very foul smell in the area. It smelled like rotten meat and was making everyone feel sick.

Everyone fan out a bit and move isle by isle. There has to be more of those in here for it to smell this bad. There was eight people in the group. Rick, Carl, Shane, and Xiang Fe went to the pharmacy side of the store, while the other four went towards the food side.

They had only separated a few seconds before Rick's group heard the screaming and the gunshots.

"Whats going on do you need assistance?" (Rick)

"Sir there is a really fast one. It took two of us out. We are currently heading back to you."(random red shirt guy)

"We have to help them." (Rick)

Rick's group started to head back to the others when they heard the gunfire again. Then Rick saw a red shirt run back to them. Behind him was a really tall Zombie. It had red eyes and a very strong but long limb body. It seemed to be smiling as it chased the last man.

Shane aimed his weapon at it and shot. The zombie at the last second moved to the side and was shot in the shoulder. It screamed and darted off.

"What the hell was that? Did you see how fast it was? And did it dodge my shot? (Shane)

"I don't know, but I am thinking it is the reason why this place has been completely ransacked." (Xiang Fe)

"It doesn't matter we need to get out of here. We head back to the truck and come back with more people." (Rick)

All of a sudden there was a loud thud and the last red shirt was thrown across the isle. He hit his head against a pole and died from a broken neck.

The tall zombie was now standing in the middle of the group and was looking directly at Shane. It then screamed loudly and lunged at him. Rick reacted quickly and mag dumped on it aiming for its head. The zombie would turn quickly and move in a zigzag pattern. Rick managed to hit it several times. While he was shooting Xiang Fe grabbed Carl and ran to cover. Once he left Carl in a safe spot he ran back to the others.

Rick and Shane were trying to slow it down they would take turns shooting at it. The zombie would move at them quickly while covering its head.

Between the two of them they were starting to slow it down. But it was still chasing them relentlessly. Xiang Fe had caught up by now and was trying to figure out how to take it out quickly. As he looked around he found a fire extinguisher, he picked up and threw it at the fast walker while yelling to Rick and Shane.

The both of them saw it and shot it several times. The fire extinguisher exploded and pieces of shrapnel hit the zombie in the head dropping it.

"What in the fuck was that thing?" (Shane)

"I don't know I have never seen one move like this before. It was so fast and it knew to protect itself." (Xiang Fe)

"Where is Carl?(Rick)

"He is over there by the open air freezers, I moved him into cover so he didn't get hit by the crossfire." (Xiang Fe)

"Carl it is safe come out." (Rick)

While Carl was walking over Shane was examining the walker. When he was moving around it getting ready to put a blade in its brain to make sure it was dead. Its arm shot out and grabbed Shane by a strap on his vest.

"Shane!"(Rick/Xiang Fe)

Bang Bang Bang. Three shots hit it in the head.

Looking over Carl was breathing heavily while holding his gun out.

"I got it dad." (Carl)
