The right timing

"Come on let's go talk inside my office." She told Genesis in a serious tone. Genesis furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. For her aunt to get this serious something must have happened.

******

"What's wrong?" Genesis asked and closed the door behind her. " I'm trying to comprehend the reason behind you still not getting married." She responded. Genesis rolled her eyes and took a seat in the comfortable chair in front of the chairwoman's desk.

"No, it's not that I want you to get married. There is another reason behind my thoughts." Her aunty told her. Genesis leaned back with a frown.

"Genesis. I heard what happened yesterday. I had dealt with a few incidents like this for you before but I will no longer be able to do that anymore." She explained and sat down in her chair.

"What I'm saying is that this deal with the Millers will have to end or speed up." She finally came to the point. Genesis stiffened.

If it ends then….

She and Aiden will no longer have anything to do with each other. Even with the contract because the circumstances will no longer be the same. If they speed it up then they would have to get married and she would come back to Sy Industries. It felt like a bucket of ice-cold water had been dropped above her head.

What is she supposed to do?

"Aunty I-" Genesis tried to say something but she didn't even know how to respond at all. She cleared her throat and took a deep breath. " Why?" She asked.

Her aunt sighed. " Even if your parents left me as the chairwoman of the company, that doesn't change the fact that I'm not from the Smiths. Sooner or later you will have to take over as the heiress. I'm simply a temporary guardian."

"So the best decision is that we end this deal sooner. You won't mind breaking the engagement right? After all, everything was verbal and it was never a written agreement. I'm sure the Millers would also consider our situation." She continued. "You don't mind right?" She asked Genesis. "I-" Genesis was tongue-tied. This is exactly what she needs right? She can now simply end this as if nothing ever happened. She has her aunty by her side so there shouldn't be a reason as to why the deal cannot be ended.

Her aunt furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. In the beginning, wasn't it her that wanted this to end as soon as possible? " You know I never really wanted you engaged to that man. I let it happen for your safety. At that time you weren't yet ready to face anyone but things have changed." She said with a sigh. "I can't…" Genesis told her. She got up with clenched fists and faced the door.

"Why all of a sudden? If you still feel like you're not ready then it's fine I'll do what I can." Her aunt walked towards her and held her arm. She sighed and looked at her tenderly. Genesis shook her head. "No, it's not that. I'm more than ready, I have never been more excited to go back. It's just that right now there are things I need to handle." She explained.

" Don't tell me you like him? Is that it?" Her aunt asked. " No. That is not it. I just-" Genesis tried to explain but didn't know what other reason to come up with. Her aunt chuckled. "Tch this is exactly what I was afraid of. Now my lovely princess will be taken away from me." Her aunt complained childishly.

Genesis smiled. Don't think like that. We recently agreed on something so I'm not sure if our engagement will affect us badly or positively." Genesis told her. "Fine, I'll give you time to sort out this agreement you have with him. But soon enough I will go visit the Millers. A decision must be made soon. The elders aren't at all pleased with this disappearance of yours." Her aunt explained and sat back down in her chair.

Genesis sighed looking at her displeasure. She is not pleased with Aiden and Genesis' engagement. In the beginning, not everyone was either. After all, they watched Genesis get hurt by Andrew once so of course, they were quite defensive towards Aiden.

" I'll take my leave for now then. Give me a call before you decide to visit us." Genesis told her. Her aunt opened one of the files in her desk and hummed in response. "Won't you stay for lunch?" She finally asked not looking away from her file, still displeased with Genesis' decision. "Nope. I have to go back to work. I'll pass by my old office and then leave." Genesis informed her.

"Sure." Her aunt replied. Genesis shook her head and closed the door when she left.

She looked around and saw everyone was concentrated in their work. She noticed them look up at her and then back down at their work. They pretended not to notice her. Genesis laughed. "Don't worry. I'll be back soon there is no need to pretend." She told them. They all sighed in relief and looked at her with a smile.

One brave secretary got up and looked at her. "Lady Boss it's good to see you after such a long time." She told her. Genesis smiled lightly. "It is also good to see you again, Emely," Genesis told her and walked towards her office.

She placed her hand on the door handle but before she entered she looked back at everyone and said, "It's good to see all of you." She then walked inside her old office and closed the door behind her.

When she entered she saw everything was very well maintained. She smiled in satisfaction at how neatly her office was preserved. She walked around and looked out her floor to ceiling window. She smiled and closed the blinds.

She walked behind her desk and knelt down. She placed her purse down on the floor and pressed her hands on the wood. She tapped the bottom of the desk with her fingertips and moved it to the middle. She then knocked on the wood twice. When she heard the sound she wanted to hear she pushed her fingertips down and there was small creak that interrupted the silent room.

She slid the piece of wood backward and when there was an opening she pressed her finger on a small button. There was another sound in the silent room.

BEEP

Once she heard the sound Genesis closed the opening and stood up. She got up and took her purse with her. She pushed her chair into the desk and left it like it was before. She then walked to a corner where a white wall was. There was an opening on the wall that passed as the size of a door.

"Everything will fall into place. I just need the right time to expose their crimes." She whispered with a smirk and opened the door. She then entered the secret room in her office.

She shook her head. When she saw a keypad inside. A simple keypad and the rest was just a small space. A little room not even big enough for a single person.

"I was so paranoid why so many entrances geez." She mumbled and her lips twitched.
