Report to him right away

She clenched her fists and her face darkened. She took the letter with her and folded it nicely, She placed it back in the envelope and she got rid of the unnecessary box. She walked to the coffee table to take the reports Jess had sent her. In the first package, there were a dozen donuts and in the other, there were two bagels wrapped up nicely but they were plastic. Under the bagels, she took out a black folder with the reports she was looking forward to, especially after the letter she had just read.

Inside her bedroom, she placed the letter inside the cabinet of her clothes. She seemed unaffected by the sight of the other letters inside a purple box. " It's nice to have you back. But this time the truth that will come to light is your identity." She spoke and closed the cabinet. She walked towards her bed and started reading the reports.

She started with Andrew but she ignored the parts that explained his personal life which she had no interest in. What she wanted to know is the person who has been giving him information. As she read through the report her mind kept going back to what she had read earlier.

'If it weren't for me you would be married to Mr.Woods and would still be living a big lie.' The same words kept echoing in her head and rubbed her temple in annoyance. "Don't let it get to you." She reminded herself aware that it is indeed the truth. The flash drive she had retrieved from the secret room in her office was sent by none other than this mysterious person. It so happens that the flash drive contains enough evidence to get a hold of Andrew.

Two years ago, she didn't use it because he didn't have anything to do with her parent's death but now he had come claiming that he has more information about that incident. Her parents are where she draws the line and if there is something that she can do to help them rest in peace she will do it.

She closed the files and tossed them aside. "Tch!" She closed her eyes and softly wept. She hugged her knees closely and sobbed quietly. She was too distraught to keep reading the file. She cried alone in her room until she fell into a peaceful sleep.

That was what she needed. She just needed to let out all the accumulated emotions and cry herself to sleep.

….

The next morning Genesis woke up early at 6:45. When she had checked the time on her phone she had met with a greeting from Aiden. She smiled. She replied to his message and quickly entered the bathroom.

Her reflection appeared haggard and she widened her eyes at this realization. Her eyes were puffy and she looked like a complete mess. Genesis didn't know whether this situation is something to be proud of. She had somehow managed to wake up like this.

She had always made sure to look fresh for work. Now she would have to do something about it. She sighed and freshened up. She picked out a red, casual, and single-breasted, two-piece suit. She chose the suit because she thought it fitted the occasion besides, she had only worn this suit once before. She went through her shoes and found a suitable pair of heels.

Once she was done with her outfit she decided to do something about her face. This one time around she very carefully applied her makeup. She made sure to be as minimalistic as possible because she's aware of how terrible she is when handling makeup.

Pleased with the results she looked for the reports she never finished reading yesterday, and she put them inside her purse. She left her house and took her car to grab some coffee for both her and Aiden.

Arriving at ILG International Genesis greeted the receptionist with her usual smile but she was still formal and somehow aloof. She took the elevator and greeted the other workers.

"Assistant Gen the president already arrived. He wants you to report as soon as you arrive." One of the assistant-secretaries told her. Genesis nodded and thanked her.

She knocked on Aiden's door until she heard him say come in. "Goodmorning, Sir." She greeted him in a neutral tone. She closed the door behind her and placed her purse on her desk along with her coffee.

Aiden watched her every move until she was right in front of him. She placed his cup of coffee on the desk and he gave her a short nod. "Is there anything I can help you with sir?" She was confused as to why he wanted her to report to him so early in the morning. She had planned to arrive early so that she could have everything set for the meeting.

"No everything is fine. Just tell me the schedule for the day." He responded with a small smile. He leaned back in his chair and glanced at her from head to toe. Genesis gave him a lost look but either way, she walked to her desk to retrieve the iPad from her locked drawer.

She turned it on and started reading his schedule out loud. Aiden was not at all listening to what she was saying. He was more focused on the locket she was wearing on her neck. Although he appeared calm and indifferent he was celebrating inside.

He held back the urge to take her into his embrace. The happiness he was feeling was immeasurable. "Sir?" Genesis called out to him but he didn't respond. " Sir!" She called out to him again. "Your aunt just requested for a meeting with you this afternoon….." She told him. All her efforts were in vain because he was simply staring at her without saying a word.

"Aiden!" She finally called out getting impatient. 'What's wrong with him?' She thought. "Huh?" He looked at her in confusion. Genesis took a deep breath and rubbed her temple. "Will you have dinner with your aunt? She requested a formal business dinner with you." Genesis explained.
