Diving into dangerous waters

"Come here," he murmured and she listened. Sitting on his lap she laid her head against his chest as he traced circles on her back with his palm. Holding her he kissed her brow and then her cheek.

"I'm sorry." 

For what?" She asked.

"Many things." He replied. "Starting with this, when you gave me permission to investigate your parents I had found some suspicious things about your birth but I didn't say anything because I wasn't sure. The reports were too messy and suspicious. I thought it was best to tell you when things were concrete facts."

Genesis pursed her lips. "It's fine. I honestly think it was best this way. I feel better knowing I heard it from my brother." She answered and lifted her head to meet his eyes.

"Alright," He nodded lowered his head to meet her lips.

"I missed you last night." He smiled as he twirled a piece of her hair in his fingers.

"Yeah? 

"Hmm, the bed was cold and empty," he added.
