Falling harder for you

"Charles, it's not that I want to. Please understand." Grace finally looked up from the mug in her hands and turned to Charles.

He was sitting on the couch, next to her. He rubbed his face with his palms and then fidgeted with the wedding band on his finger.

"I know." He whispered, his voice cracked.

"But I don't want you to."

Grace pursed her lips.

"It's for the best, I won't take long." She insisted.

"You could at least offer me to come with."

Right now, Grace had explained to him her plan to go back to the place where everything started. Where she had first signed that marriage certificate, where she had conceived her daughter. She had hoped Charles would say yes, but she knew that was too much. He was worried enough for her as it is, and adding this onto the pile wouldn't help. But she had to, she wanted to.

She had many other reasons as to why but she wanted to inform Charles first.
