Chapter 5

"The rain won't stop any minute now." Raum lamented, touching the window on his room, as he gazed at the heavy rain that was pouring.

"I can still practice here." Volen said while drying her hair with a towel. "After all I'm just a controller who will help my team mates."

Raum looked at his candidate who was sitting on the bed. "You're more than that, you might be a controller now but perhaps you'll learn to control the power you have and become a specialist." Raum replied.

He already had an idea how powerful Volen might be when she'll train for decades. With the help of the training of the academy, it would boost her growth more.

"Let's focus on what you can do now. We won't waste a single time waiting to let the rain stop; we will continue your training here until the day of the entrance exam." Raum stated.

Volen nodded. "How should we do that?"

"There are several types on training a controller. The most suitable training indoor would be the water divination, this will also classify what type of controller. Perform by placing your hands on either side of the glass, your ability revealed by what happens." Raum explained, placing a glass filled with water to the brim and a leaf at the center floating on the surface on the desk.

Volen followed Raum's instruction, placing both of her hand on the side of the glass, focusing on the glass. On instant, the water started to overspill, and the tip of the leaf started to wither.

"What does that mean?" Volen queried.

"The spilling of water indicates you're an enhancer. While the withering of the leaf shows you're a catcher." Raum responded.

"You really are special."

"I know right." Volen giggled.

Raum took the coat and gave to Volen. "Now, let's go on a weapon shop and choose your weapon, each weapon have their own energy flow that helps the user cast their skills."

The rain was still pouring heavily, the day was still early noon but from the dark clouds that covered the sun, it looked like the night was approaching. Most people are inside their own houses, while the homeless where on a shelter waiting for the rain to stop.

"Welcome to my shop, the best shop here on the port city of Moneta where weapons and armory of all kinds can be find." The man on the counter greeted. "What would a sage be doing here? Do you plan on buying a new staff? I have the perfect staff for you."

The room was full of different designs of armor, weapon, and support items for every kind of class. The common types were displayed on the room while the rare types are displayed behind the counter. Price tags are pinned on every common equipment's while the rare equipment's have no price tags.

"I'm planning on buying a weapon for the girl. Controller class and a weapon that would need a physical contact to work." Raum pointed out.

"That would be a difficult one, but you're lucky enough because we got everything you ask for." The owner said. "Most controller weapon would be a staff like a mage but I would recommend you the weapon of the bombardier if you want the little girl magic would take effect on physical point."

The owner hovered his hand above the desk. "Search magic." A screen like appeared on the desk with letters and numbers in it. The owner inputted 'bombardier', clicking a gun icon. This made the weapons of the bombardier in the room glowed.

"Feel free to look around, and if you have any question about the weapon feel free to ask." The owner said.

A bow gun would be nice rather than a bow for Volen… Bows are destructive as bow guns when it comes in a bombardier hands, most problem with the bows and bow guns is the critical distance and the precision and knowledge of monster weakness… Raum thought while checking the displayed weapons that were faintly glowing, there were variation of bow guns and bows to choose but he knew every advantage and disadvantage of the weapons.

Raum returned to the counter and asked the owner for the rare weapons displayed behind the counter. "Do you have any kind of sniper type that would be fitting for the girl?"

"I'll check what I can get for you." The owner opened the door behind him, after a few minutes he returned carrying a bow gun that is wrapped around a cloth, "This would be the most conventional bow gun sniper type and one of the lightest bow gun. I present you the bubble fox wyvern heavy bow gun." The owner proclaimed.

Unwrapping it showed a bow gun with simplicity of design. Framed around the chassis were white tipped pink scales of the bubble fox wyvern connected to the barrel until the muzzle. A detachable scope attached from the rear sight to the front sight tilted, and a carrying handle before the rear sight. A grip attached at the body before the stock and a grip below. The trigger is elongated for firing automatically when carrying, and a curve at the end when firing a single shot. A magazine that can fire up to nine rounds before recharging it, a light indicated the bullet.

"Here are the support items for the little girl." The owner placed on the counter, a bipod, a foresight eyepiece mounted on the headset, and two more magazines.

"Where did you get this? A weapon created from the bubble fox wyvern?" Raum was astonished to see the weapon.

"This is the Moneta port, the greatest city known to smuggle things! An old saying, if you are finding a rare item, expects it to see in the Moneta port city." the owner declared. "This would cost thirty gold coins… or you could lend the pretty small girl to me for one night." The owner whispered to Raum's ear.

"Here's a check, you can withdraw it on the bank." Raum huffed placing a piece of paper on the desk. He took the heavy bow gun and grabbed Volen's hand who was waiting on the door, leaving hastily.

The rain stopped but the day was still dark from the clouds. Rather than going back to the inn, Raum and Volen went back to the forest to try out bow gun.

"How is it?" Raum asked.

"It is just like the owner told, it is light from how heavy it looked like." Volen responded holding the bow gun on the grip and the fore grip. She wore the headset and looked at the eyepiece seeing only a normal view. "What ammunition should I use for the bow gun?"

"Origin is used as the ammunition when using a bow and a bow gun. Place your arm on the magazine to recharge it." Raum instructed, placing his arm beneath of the magazine which slowly filled the magazine, he emptied the magazine again by absorbing the origin.

Volen carried the bow gun instead of lying on the muddy ground. She placed her arm on the magazine which filled it and looking at the scope through the eyepiece. From her eyepiece showed digits, the distance of the target which made the scope of the bow gun to adjust depends how far the target is. She fired at the tree, spikes grew around the tree.
