Chapter 6

The day of the entrance exam, hundreds of luxurious ships from the surrounding altale isles and from the City of Lehn docked on the port of Moneta, each aristocrats ships rivaling one another to illustrate their wealth.

The day of the entrance exam of the academy made the city looked there was a celebration happening. Colorful stringed flags on the streets, people were cheering on the side of the road while cheering for the aristocrats to pass.

While it looked fun, the reason the people created the feast during the entrance exam day was for the money of the aristocrats, the high lords of the seas who they were working for tossed silver coins on the streets.

Flashy armors and unique weapons displayed by those who will take the entrance exam. High lords princes and princesses paraded the city to flaunt their class, while guards and servants followed them behind.

"Look at these fools trying to impress the prince, all just for the money." A guard walking beside a prince muttered.

"Let them be. They are all under my academy's protection after I become a hero and inherit my father's wealth I won't need to set foot on this filthy city run by filthy smugglers." Cairo said, wearing red armor and carrying a huge sword behind the armor.

"Yes, Prince Cairo."

Entering the academy, the parades, and the cheering of the people in the city, the luxurious ships of the high lords of the seas departed to set sail. The ships of the residing lords docked, the princes and princess followed by their personal guard. The streets were empty, no parade, and cheering for them as they entered the gates of the academy.

Volen reached the gates of the academy alone. The gates and walls were enormous to cover what would the academy looked like.

"You must go alone to the academy tomorrow, it would be difficult if they find out, I guess she knew already, but if someone asks, just tell them you are a native to the altale isles."

Volen agreed to Raum without raising any questions. He gave her a blue feather, the ticket to the entrance exam. She walked close to the gates holding the feather, the moment she approached the gate, the feather started to disappear and a magic circle below her appeared.

Volen opened her eyes after being transported, the room was enormous, no design of any such, no furniture, just a plain square room that fitted hundreds of examiners, separated by each factions waiting for the exam to start.

"Hey kid, if you don't want to get killed before the exam start, you shouldn't stand in the middle." Lei grabbed Volen's hand just as a man swung his sword to Volen behind.

"Tsk. You should have just died kid, I'm giving you a free of charge to the next life." Shinji said.

"Don't be like that Shinji, it would be better if we can recruit someone before the exam starts," Lei said.

"Tsk. Whatever."

Lei continued, "My name is Lei and this is Shinji, we are both siblings and brawler. Nice to meet you."

Lei has long, curly navy blue hair, that falls past her waist in waves, with light blue eyes. Wearing a silk light design martial arts clothes customized in the wrist and the sleeves for her weapon, a pair of dark, metal-clad gloves.

Shinjo is tall and muscular. He has navy blue, long, spiky hair, with light blue eyes. Wearing a sleeveless has tattoos along both of his arms reaching to his shoulder. Carrying a claymore behind him.

"I'm Volen, nice to meet you too," Volen responded. "But why is everyone really tense here? Even they have many followers."

Lei laughed. "You have a good sense. That is because if they failed to enter the academy, it would bring shame to the reputation of the family. High lords of the sea achieved their title by the people under them passed and become a hero, more importantly, the prince or the princess. Some high lords failed to maintain their reputation by their failed prince or princess. Some high lord kept making heroes like the Hizama that controls the east sea of the Lehn and west sea of Altale isles, the Girashima controls the north sea of altale isles, and the Ai Mikoto controls the east and south of altale isles."

"Oh well this month of applicants is more interesting and would be worthwhile to watch close enough." Lei thought.

A bell rang outside of the room for a moment, a man on a formal attire appeared floating above.

"I apologize for the wait. The entry period for the hero applicants has ended. The hero exam will now begin!" The man announced that made the crowds cheer. "A final caution. If you are short on luck or abilities, you could very well end up in seriously injured or even dead."

Others didn't have a choice to withdraw from the exam. They would end up being a fugitive from the one who they serve.

"Very well. I'm Fretz, an A-class hero, the examiner for this month." Fretz snapped his finger and a giant teleportation circle appeared.

They were transferred to the sea with each group having their own ship, the more the members, the bigger the ship.

"Welcome to the exam. I shall explain to you the rules. There are fishing rods and a chest on the deck. To pass the exam, the applicant should fish and have worth one hundred points on the chest. Each fish have their own points. The test will end at dusk, and during the test, protect the chest. The test shall start now." Fretz announced.

Lei raised her hands. "Would you call this a ship? A small boat!"

She was infuriated from receiving a small boat only because they are only three members. What worse could happen? Being crushed by the ships that were surrounding them?

If she would have a chance to punch Fretz on the face, she would surely do it but would be disqualified at the same time.

Fretz slightly bowed. "I'm sorry Miss Lei but the rules are applied too for the members who are few."
