Bang!
Volen gunfire can be heard all over the forest. She still has two minutes before Lei would chase her.
The rules were simple. Lei would be the "it" and Volen would be "hider", after five minutes, Lei would unfold her blindfold to search for Volen.
Volen would be the "it" if Lei tagged her.
There are three ways for Volen to win.
First, hiding until the test on the other side would be completed. A huge screen is displayed center above the forest.
When Volen asked about the test of the others and what is the countdown for, Shinjo only explained the countdown like numbers.
Second, returning to the home base. The home base would be above the giant tree in the center of the map.
The crown of the tree grew outward, making a flat surface on the center.
Third, shooting Lei. Any type of hit would be counted as a hit, Volen wins.
The winning condition would apply too after being tagged.
The whole forest would be the map. They were only at a simulation which meant the forest have end sides.
The only way Volen would lose is when Lei tagged her and returned back to the home base without being tagged back by Volen.
Lei was confident enough she would find Volen, thus giving herself a handicapped by giving up her location to Volen through the hawk that would follow Lei.
Volen knew it was risky to shoot, but she can create a divergent if everything goes well.
Volen took a deep breath to calm herself. She counted how many shots left she can fire before reaching her limit.
Volen noticed the time in the simulation was kinda off. The first test finished during the dusk, it should have been night time, yet when she woke up it was day time.
The Origin Volen used should have recharge from sleeping. Instead, she still felt the weariness of using Origin.
She only has four shots in terms of overload amplitudes. If Volen would use only a normal amplitude bullets, she can have eight bullets.
Volen took another deep breath again, looking through the scope, waiting for Lei to show up.
Five minutes have already passed. Lei unfolds the blindfold and looked at the direction where the gunshots were fired.
Huge spikes covered some parts of the forest. This made Lei laughed so hard. "Is she out of her mind? Did she think creating those spikes will let her win? Have the old man sage did not think her how to fight properly?"
Shinjo sat the whole time. "Instead of standing still here, why don't you ask her about it yourself? I'm just a spectator on this match. You should also start to find her already. The test on the other side would conclude soon."
Lei looked above, the board displayed one hundred twenty-six.
One hundred twenty-five.
"Fine, even it is still early, someone might intervene again. I'll see you later."
Lei jumped from above the tree and slid down the forest. The hawk flew above her.
"Good choice she didn't choose to wait for me down here. It would be a disappointment if she waited for me down here."
Volen saw the hawk started to fly to the position where she was.
Volen positioned herself pass the spikes she created, further away from the tree. She already knew how fast Lei is. If she is caught near the giant tree, Lei can easily go back above the tree without any hindrance. Volen won't lose without fighting back.
One hundred fifteen.
Lei passed the first two spikes. Even from the far, Volen can see clearly Lei from the scope.
Bang!
Volen ran away from the position she fired. It was totally a missed shot even she aimed directly at Lei's forehead. She now has three shots left.
She stopped and looked again at Lei. From her scope, Lei was still standing, the next she made was incredible.
Volen also knew about the shockwave produced when Lei punched the air, but now was totally different. Her punch made a clear path.
If Volen hasn't changed her position, it would have surely reached and hit her. Volen closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm before looking at the scope again.
It was Raum who taught her to close her eyes and take a deep breath before looking at the scope. An uneasy feeling would haze her aim.
Ninety-two.
Lei looked at the path she cleared. "Good job Volen. I guess the old man sage have thought you something."
The hawk moved again.
Volen now instead of aiming directly at Lei, aimed advance to Lei was.
Bang!
This time, the fired shot was clearly far away. Lei knew from where it came from.
"I don't know what you think but you have the nerve to reveal your position. I think I'm starting to like you."
Volen saw the hawk was flying towards her position. Her plan was really working, she made Lei far away from the giant tree.
Volen from above the tree, she shot again below the ground, created the spike. She hopped at the top of the spike as it grows.
Lei saw Volen above the spike. "Wait, wait, wait! What is this all about? Rather than running away, you would really fight me here?"
Volen said confidently as she looked down at Lei pointing the gun at her. "Yes, I'm going to fight you."
Volen was not bluffing. A single shot is all she needs.
Eighty-six.
