7. Big shot

Jayram looked at the man with more confusion in his eyes

Realising his confusion the man answered everyone

'Yes, I am telling you the truth. He was jailed at the age of 13'

Both suru and her father looked at the man surprisingly as the silence fell around them

'...for murder' the man continued

'Why did you give the flat to a criminal like him?' Jayram aksed the secretary with a surprised look

'We can't stop him' secretary replied and explained

'Sir the thing is... the original owner of that flat Ms. Marie she transferred her flat in this boy's name'

'Ms. Marie such a sensible lady how can she do that' father was more surprised and it seems that his anger was fading now

'How can she give her flat to such a rubbish person?'

'Sir, he's no roadside rubbish' the secretary replied

'I have heard that his father is some big shot'

'and if you object him about something, he will brag about some law or other'

The men continued their conversation in front of the society's gate. Jayram kept staring at the secretary who was explaining the boy's situation.

'He has a good knowledge about laws and bylaws' the secretary explained

'what can we do?' the secretary continued

'So you let this jail bird turned lawyer to intimidate you?' jayram asked the secretary with his anger comig back

'...and turn our society into a dance bar?' he shouted with anger

'Sir, what did I do?...how can a secretary stop ladies from coming or going to his place'

The secretary's face turned stern he felt that he was wronged. It was not his fault that ladies parade around his flat.

'A secretary's job is to maintain discipline in the society...if you can't do it then you can resign'

'We will elect someone better...who can perform their work well'

Both the man argued in front of the society gate and after that went on their ways

'Come suru' father asked her to follow him still angry with the conversation he just had. He couldn't accept such a person living in the same place as him.

The father and daughter hailed a taxi, father kept his face straight still a little angry while suru opened a book and started reading it.

'Since when did you start reading love poetry?' father aksed her without looking at her

Suru gave him a look and closed the book. She started looking towards the window on her side

'Waste product' father remarked and kept going

'Such books don't increase your IQ level'

Finally the taxi reached the library and suru got off

She entered the library and get to her position at the front desk

She bent down to sort out some books behind the reception counter

Just then a man in complete black suit approach the reception

He placed the books in his hand on the reception table and cleaned his throat

'Sukriti Balakrisnan' he said looking down at her
