Venomous Snake Tattoo

After calming down from crying and obediently going through a few rounds of body examinations, Selina didn't have any appetite to eat her meal. Jason stayed by her side the entire time, holding her hands during examinations that allowed third parties to accompany her.

Every time a doctor gets close to her; she would subconsciously tighten her grip around his hands. To soothe her tension, his thumb would gently glide the back part of her hands. She seemed extra wary of those around her.

Back when she was still hospitalized, she didn't have much trouble with taking needle shots and letting nurses extract blood from her arm. However, after she had woken up this time, Jason had to hold her tightly to prevent her from struggling. When the tip of the needle entered her arm, she leaned onto his chest and held his hand.

"Selina, try relaxing just a little, tiny bit, so they can draw your blood.." He whispered when he saw that blood wasn't flowing smoothly through the tube. Finally, the staff completed their tasks and left the room. Selina continued hugging Jason's arm as if she was afraid he would abandon her.

While she was going through body exams, Bryan, Alfred and Celinda went to get food for all of them. During the short while the trio were together, Celinda filled them in on the details at the mall. When she mentioned about Roger, she didn't speak about her past. Instead, she focused on the tiniest details that might have triggered Selina's migraine.Bryan and Alfred understood her behavior and didn't ask anything related to her privacy. They knew that there were things she would like to not share with them. It was her choice, so they respected her decision.

Consider that Celinda literally just met Selina the previous night, there wasn't time for Jason to tell her anything related to Selina's condition. Hence, she was clueless about Selina's past until Bryan talked about how she used to be up until the day she jumped from the bridge. From their short conversation, Celinda could tell he loved Selina dearly as his sister. At the same time, his heart ached seeing her like this and there was nothing he could do to help her.

When they got back from buying food, Selina was much calmer than before. She had a small smile on her face when she saw the group coming back to the room.

"Bryan! Alfred! Celinda! You're all back." She said, trying to sound cheery.

Relieved, they walked to her side and greeted her. Celinda gave her a tight hug. "You! If you're not feeling well, you need to say it right away next time. Don't hold it in. You almost gave me a heart attack today! If you do this next time, I'll cook you dinner every night for a whole week. You can ask my brother how bad of a cook I am!"

"Pffft, hahaha. Then I'll have your brother eat my share for me." Selina giggled at her silliness. Hearing her laughter made everyone sigh in relief.

"We brought some food. Are you hungry? How about we eat dinner together?" Bryan asked in a soft, gentle tone.

"But I'm not feeling hungry. I don't have much appetite. My stomach isn't feeling too well after collapsing earlier." She rubbed her stomach, looking slightly upset.

"Then how about drinking some soup? Even if it's just a few spoonfuls of soup, at least you'll have something in your stomach." Jason suggested as he scanned the receipt stapled to the plastic bag in front of him.

Celinda smiled, "Yes. Yes. We ordered vegetable soup exclusively for you. If you don't drink it, it'll be a waste. You want to go home with us as soon as possible, right? Then you better eat your meals to have enough energy." She lifted the cover for the soup, took a spoon and brought it to Jason's hands.

Carefully, Jason blew onto the soup before feeding it to her. Since it was brought to her lips, she felt bad if she continued rejecting him. At the end, she drank half a quart of soup and took a few bites of rice.

"I'm really full. You eat. I really can't eat anymore." She covered her mouth and shook her head.

"Then, alright. I'll leave the food and soup in the mini fridge. If you get hungry later, I'll heat it up for you." Jason covered up the food and placed it beside the container of soup.

Bryan pondered a while before deciding to ask her this question. "Selina, do you mind telling us what might have triggered that migraine? If you're alright with it, could you let us know what you dreamt of just now? You seemed pretty frightened."

Selina nodded, "I think it was the venomous snake tattoo on Roger's wrist that reminded me of something. I remember seeing him in my dream. I think he was asking someone with a blurred face for financial assistance. That office...I've been there. It was where I got stabbed! The excruciating pain in my chest and emotional distress suffocated me in the dream. And then I fell from a high place to a bottomless pit? Then I woke up."

Hearing about the venomous snake tattoo, Alfred gave a complicated look towards Bryan's clenched fist. He pretended to accidentally knock against Bryan's elbow to remind him to suppress his anger. "Selina, do you want a cup of tea? Or maybe fruit juice?" Bryan asked.

"Juice? Can you help me get the juice I bought you guys last time? I really love that taste." She happily smiled when she thought of the delicious sweet taste spreading in her mouth.

"Alfred and I will go to buy the drink. Celinda, Jason. What about you two?" Bryan asked.

Celinda looked at how Selina's mood brightened when she mentioned juice, so she wanted to try it. "I'll get the same thing Selina is getting."

Jason replied, "The Mogu Mogu jelly drink in lychee flavor. Thanks."

Bryan and Alfred left the hospital right after jotting down their orders. As soon as they turned the corner of the block, Bryan smashed his fist against the brick wall until his skin started peeling. Alfred stopped his arm from swinging another time, "Stop hitting the wall. We both know who we need to look for if the venomous snake tattoo matches the description in our minds."

"Only his people would dare engrave such an ugly tattoo on their wrists. If it is really him, then I won't be lenient. I'll slice that wrist and send it to him as the first gift. I'll make him disappear from my sight afterwards." Bryan said as they continued walking to the supermarket.
