Are You Upset?

Rubbing her cheeks with her fingertips, Shirley could feel how bruised her face would swell overnight. 'Selina! I'll kill you with my hands! I'll ruin you! Just you wait!'

She looked down beside her heels and found the useless man she once went crazy for hurled in a fetus position. Forcing a lopsided smile, she helped him up from the floor. "Peter! Are you alright? Did you see how she treated us? What did we ever do to her?"

Peter held her hands. "Shirley, didn't you hear what she said? She didn't know us. The way she reacted and looked at us was the same as not knowing us! She definitely lost her memories after committing suicide. She didn't die! But..But ..Should I tell Bryan about her? Maybe he could help my parents!"

Snatching his phone out of his hands, she yelled. "You can't! What you could do is help Selina recover her memories first. Make her remember us. Even if you find her and bring her to Bryan, he will still blame you for what happened to her. It's better if you bring her to him after you help her remember her past."

"You're right. Thank goodness you're here. But what can I do? She literally treated us like her enemies. I didn't mean any harm, but maybe I was too harsh just now. What could I do to help her remember who we are?" Peter let out a hiss and pushed his thighs together.

She rubbed her chin and pretended to think deeply before giving him a response. Raising up a finger, she voiced her suggestion. "How about bringing her to a place she is most afraid of? Or bringing something she always hated? I heard from a television show that people who lost their memories could recover faster when they encounter the same sequence of events."

"Yeah, but wouldn't that be too much? I can't risk that. I also can't use the family tradition again. She was injured last time." He argued.

"Who says you have to use the same scenario? I have the perfect plan in my head. I promise she won't lose a strand of hair. We will just scare her a bit and leave her alone. Of course, we will still stay behind and watch her struggle. When she recalls everything, we'll save her. It's perfect!" She clapped to brighten up the atmosphere.

"That's impossible. Even if we have everything set up, she's with Jason now. He probably hired bodyguards for her. Also, wouldn't that make her hate me? Like that time, you accidentally locked her in the closet for a day, she didn't speak to both of us for a week. She thought I was your accomplice." He shook his head and brushed off her idea.

Refusing to give up her plan, she counterargued in a more persuasive way. "She only treated you this way because she doesn't remember who you are. If she recovers her memories, it will be her who will feel bad for cheating on you! You two were in a seven-years relationship; not seven days! Jason will have to screw off once she recalls everything."

"Also, this plan won't work if it doesn't trigger her emotions. So, we might as well risk it. The worst thing that could ever happen under our supervision is how we ended up right now. All beaten up. Better than carrying the title of being someone's sister's murderer, right? You don't have to worry about Jason's bodyguards. I can help get rid of them."

Shirley patted her chest with a grin as she saw Peter's slight nod. He agreed to her plan after listening to her words that somehow made sense to him. After he had agreed, Shirley sent a text to Justin about the next step of her plans.

In the meantime, Jason and Selina were standing outside the mall. When they walked out, he texted his driver to come to pick them up at the mall entrance. During the wait, Selina bought a pair of slippers and tossed away the pair of heels.

"Didn't you like those heels?" He asked as he watched her slip her feet into the slippers she bought. His arm supported her waist as she swapped shoes.

"Yeah, but that wench with the foundation factory layered on her face tainted it red. Too dirty. I can get myself a new pair." She sighed as she leaned her head against his arm.

"Are you upset?" Normally, he could read her expressions pretty well. However, she had a straight up poker face right now, making it difficult for him to decipher what she had in mind.

She studied his face from her height and decided it wasn't close enough. Since her high heels were gone, her best support was his shoulders. With her hands on his shoulders, she tiptoed and squinted with her observant eyes.

Followed by her actions, his arms circled around her to prevent her from falling. He stared back into her eyes and let himself sink into her innocent expression. From squinting to widening her eyes and back to squinting, tears could be seen forming in her eyes.

He sucked his lips inwards before asking her once again if everything was alright. When he did, his face met a refreshing breeze that came from her mouth.

"Phewww!" She blew a breath of cool air into his face, causing him to blink a few times.

Stunned by her sudden action, he saw the usual smile on her face again. "It was a staring contest and you lost. I feel much better now! For that, you'll have to carry me to the car and into the villa!"

She spread her arms for a hug with an overwhelmingly warm smile. He sighed as he pulled his silly girlfriend into his embrace. "You don't have to keep everything to yourself, you know? If you feel upset, you can show it."

"I know I could depend on you. I also promise to let you know how I truly feel. But wouldn't your heart ache to see me that way? And when you get upset, I'll end up getting more upset. At the end, I'll end up doubling or even tripling the damage! Plus, this time I'm only irritated for not giving those two enough kicks and slaps. Though I really don't want to touch her face again, I wouldn't mind using those hands slapping toys for kids as a replacement."

"What do you think?" She giggled in his embrace and rubbed her cheeks against his chest.

"Mm. Then should I bring two with us wherever we go? A back up in case you break the first toy. And who knows? Maybe those factory owners can't keep up with her foundation addiction that she'll hunt you down for your concealer." He jokingly whispered into her ears.

Letting out a surprised gasp, she loosened the hug and stared into his eyes. "Then I must hide you!!"

"Why me? Shouldn't I be hiding you instead?" He clipped her nose between his index and middle finger lightly.

"Nuh uh! All the concealers would be bought for you. So, why would I need them?" She smiled and tapped her neck where the hickey was located.

"If you like showing it off this much, I wouldn't mind marking more. You were the one who tested the concealers earlier, not me. To ensure the products effectiveness, we must test it out on more than one person. Meaning, you." His wicked smile appeared on his charming face, triggering her heart to flutter.

Her eyes widened as she reached up to feel her racing heart. She looked at him as if the rest of the world didn't exist. With an apricot tint steaming up her cheeks, she tiptoed and whispered. "We'll see about that."

Then, he felt something warm and wet against his neck. He finally realized what it was when she lowered her feet back to the ground with her tongue sticking out.

"Heh. Since you have daringly challenged me in public, I will take the honor in being your opponent. But don't blame me when you can't stand afterwards." He checked his phone and picked her up in princess style like she had requested.

"W..What are you doing?" She stuttered as she recovered from his flirting attack.

"The driver is here. Didn't you say I lost in the staring contest?"

"I..I was joking!" She tried swinging her legs.

"I wasn't. If you keep moving, I might drop you. Be good and enjoy your ride." He smiled as he walked slower than his regular pace.

"Why do I feel like you are walking slower?" She shot him a suspicious glance.

"You're overthinking." He grinned.

"As if I'll believe you...." She mumbled as they made their way to the car.
