I Love You

The drive to the art store was less than twenty minutes, including the time spent on finding a parking space. Inside the store, Selina's eyes looked as if she was emitting golden rays as she scanned her way through aisles and took colors off from the shelves.

'She's only this confident when she buys paints. Cute.' He smiled as he followed her around while pushing the shopping cart. The way her fingertips brushed over paint containers and how she could stare deeply into them as if she was speaking to the supplies never fails to amaze him. Every time she gathered art supplies in her arms, he always felt like she was in an extremely beautiful place that he has yet to explore.

If possible, he also wants to see the colors the way she views it. In his eyes, red will always be red. Scarlet is just another term for red. If he made this comment in front of her, he was certain she would give him a long lesson on why scarlet is not just a hue of red. Though he wouldn't ever pay for any art courses, he would gladly join hers just to listen to how passionate she could be when it came to discovering new colors.

"Ah. I want that color." She lifted her head and had her eyes caught on a specific shade. Tiptoeing, she wiggled her fingers upwards. Looking back with a yearning pair of eyes, she pointed to the color she wanted to take.

"I can't reach it. Can you get it for me?" When she asked that question, he felt a strong sense of strangers looking at their direction. Before he took his first step towards her, he saw a stranger reach out and helped her obtain the color she wanted.

She looked at the color the guy placed in her hands and thanked him with a polite smile. The stranger shyly scratched the back of his neck and was about to pull out his phone. Right at that moment, Jason wrapped his arm around her, took the paint from her hand, and placed it back on the shelf. Then, he took a different container of the same colored paint and put it in her hands.

"That one was stained. This one is better." He held her hand and pushed the shopping cart to a different section of the store.

She wanted to say that the seal was still intact, but soon realized it wasn't the container that was the problem. It was the guy who helped her that was the main issue. Giggling, she pulled him to a hidden corner where the camera footage wouldn't capture them.

"Ahem, that guy only wanted to help me get the paint I needed." She bent her body forward with her hands folded behind her back.

"He wanted your number." He said in a sulking manner.

"Does it look like I would have given my number out to strangers? Hmmm?" She drew circles on his chest, distracting him.

He shook his head as she stepped on the stool. Instinctively, he circled his arms around her back and lowered his gaze at her.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she looked around to make sure they were alone before giving him a peck on the lips. Caressing his cheeks with her small hands, she looked at him straight in the eyes.

"I don't care whether there are good-looking guys out there or guys who are interested in getting to know me. All I care about is you and I'm a very stubborn person. Once I have my eyes on you, I will only fit you in my heart. There's no room for anyone else. I'm also very selfish, so I will tell the world that you're mine wherever I go."

Pulling her in for a tight hug, he nestled his face against her neck. He whispered, "This is the first time you've told me how you felt."

"Eh? Really? I thought I've always told you I love you. Did I not?" She giggled as his lips tickled her ears.

"Nope." He huskily said into her ears, tempting her to kiss him.

"Oh? Then I love you. I love you. I love you~ Hehehe. clear enough?" She took his face in her hands again and gave him a kiss.

"Not clear enough." He joked around and pinched her nose.

"Then...I'll tell you that every day from now on. That should make it clear enough." She squeezed his cheeks and stayed in his arms for a bit before they walked to the cashier counter. Finally, they were officially done with shopping for the day.

The moment they got home with groceries in their hands, they saw Celinda welcoming them with an indescribable expression. "Welcome back! Brother...and Selina. Here, let me help you with those."

"Huh? What's wrong with you today?" Jason froze as he saw her shaking her head and pointing towards the living room area. He felt like his neck was made out of stone as he twisted it to the side.

Cracking his lips to a curve, he quickly greeted his parents. "Mom! Dad! What a pleasant surprise."

Jason and Celinda's mother, Julia Hui stood up from the couch and walked over to give Jason a hug. "Jason! It's been a while since I've last seen you. You look like you've been doing well with your meals."

At the same time, Nick Hui stood up from his seat and placed the teacup on the table. "Welcome home, son. It's sudden but your mom and I decided to come back earlier than expected."

"Way earlier than expected," Celinda mumbled, trying to calm her unsettling heart.

"Ah, right! What happened to your guest rooms? The last time we came-" Celinda quickly stopped her mom from continuing her words since Selina didn't know this house has been renovated to suit her taste.

"Mom! Dad! You two must be tired after a long flight. How about some rest?" She tried diverting their attention but ended up redirecting the question to the rooms. Facepalming her poor soul, she looked at Selina and smiled.

"Right! Brother, you haven't introduced Selina to mom and dad yet. How could you forget such an important thing?" She winked at him.

Holding Selina's hands, he walked over to the couch. With his parents sitting, he announced. "Mom, dad. This is my girlfriend, Selina Gu."
