Jessica Arrived 2

Selina glared at the waiter and manager with dissatisfaction as they served the wine again. "Shit. I am not sure whether the drinks were drugged again. Also, the two glasses might have gotten mixed up too. Argh! Jess, please don't drink the wine!"

Unlocking the passcode on her phone, Selina sent Jessica a text message. However, before her text was successfully delivered, Jessica had already taken a sip.

A few minutes later, food was delivered to Jessica's table one plate after the next. Fortunately, Jessica only took a sip from her drink. She loved tasting wine, which led to a habit of slowly devouring the content. Meanwhile, Jin Long had the habit of chugging down one glass in one go.

Seeing the empty glass, the manager walked over to refill it. Instead of chugging another glass of wine down his throat, his eyes laid on the mushroom soup in front of him. At this moment, Jessica received Selina's text and read it. Before she could send a response, something weird happened to Jin Long.

The cream colored soup began to swirl in his eyes. The spoon in his hand fell onto the floor, making a loud noise.

"S..Sorry..It feels...so..." Before he could finish his sentence, his face splashed into the mushroom soup. The thick liquid splattered everywhere.

"Ah! Elder cousin?!" Jessica stood up to pull his face out of the soup. Before her hands could reach for his head, someone else sprinted between them and shoved the unconscious man backwards.

"Huh? Alfred? Selina and Jason? When did you guys get here? What's going on?" Jessica found herself pulled aside by Alfred. Selina wanted to explain the situation to her, but it was not the right time. She spotted the manager making a sneaky call, so Jason rushed over to capture him. While he held the manager in place, Selina took his phone away from him.

Jessica wanted an answer, but when she saw the serene smile on Alfred's face; she didn't dare ask anymore. She kept quiet and listened to the call he made.

Alfred's hand was wrapped around Jessica's shoulder. His voice sounded dangerous and his eyes dimmed. "Get two men and bring this crap to their assigned hotel room. Order the big mama up that room. Bring a few more men and have them come here in case we need back up."

Jessica couldn't hear what the other party replied, but she guessed it was a positive answer to his request. She continued studying the man whose arm was hugging her anxiously as if he was protecting his treasure.

"Are you alright?" Alfred softened his gaze when he looked at the woman in his embrace.

"Yeah, I'm fine, but..." Before she could complete her sentence, their conversation was disrupted by Selina's voice.

"Brother, have your men take the manager as well? He's the one who added the drug and mixed it in the wine. I heard it loud and clear. It was Mrs. Wang's instructions, but Mr. Wang might have known all along. This man insulted Jess, so he needs to learn a nice lesson." Selina waved the evidence she found from the manager's phone and waved it in the air.

In ten minutes, a group of men entered the restaurant. After Alfred gave them instructions, two men searched Jin Long's pocket and found a hotel key card.

"Boss, we found the key card. We'll bring him to the room. Big mama is waiting outside the door. Is there anything else you need?" One of the men asked Alfred.

"Bring the manager as well. Give him the drug. If the Wang family did plan something beforehand, they would take action. If you don't see anyone rushing up to the room by tomorrow morning, contact all media agencies. Have them write about this in tomorrow's headline." Alfred gave his final instructions and watched as his men brought the two men away.

"Now that everyone is gone, can someone explain what- ahhh!" Alfred lifted Jessica up and walked towards the elevator.

"We're going to the hospital to give you a thorough body examination. I need to make sure no drugs were added to your drink." His concerned tone warmed her heart.

"But I have many questions!" She leaned against his chest, trying to find a comfortable spot.

"I'll answer them."

Ding!

The elevator doors opened and he stepped inside. "Press the lobby button for me." He whispered.

"Alright, but you better answer every single question I have for you and not hide anything from me!" Jessica pressed the lobby floor and felt the elevator going downwards.

Meanwhile, Selina and Jason were left behind. Selina blinked, standing by the entrance with parted lips. Her arm stretched out and pointed at the empty hall where Alfred had stood for the past minute.

"H..Hubby! Did he just-" She wanted to complain, but no words came out of her mouth.

"Mm. You want a sister-in-law faster too right? We need to give them some space. Maybe this would give him a nice push to fasten up his pace. You saw how anxious he was when he saw her sipping that wine. You could literally make his expression into a squinting stitch emoji. Come, let's have our dinner." Jason lowered her arm and held onto her hand.

"Um..."

Hearing another voice from behind, the couple turned around and saw the waiter trembling with his head lowered. Selina sighed, "don't worry. You were involved, but you weren't the one who drugged her. You were the one who indirectly helped our plan succeed. I heard your mother needed medical fees. I'll give you enough money to cover for the fees, but you must keep your mouth shut about tonight. It'll affect you as much as it'll affect certain people. Understand what I mean? Also, don't do such things in the future. You should report it if you encounter more superiors like him."

"Yes! Yes! Thank you very much! I will head to the kitchen and see if your dishes are ready to be served." The waiter smiled gratefully, bowed and walked towards the kitchen.

"You let him go this easily?" Jason whispered.

"Mm. He did save Jessica in a way. Plus, he tried persuading the manager earlier to not commit this crime. It was the manager who was disgusting enough to accept Mrs. Wang's money. He was trying to keep his job and support his mother. Since we need to keep his mouth shut anyway, I'll just provide medical fees for him." She answered truthfully.
