Hubby, it hurts...

"What...What did you just say? Isaac, I am your mother!" Madam Wang made multiple attempts to stand up on her own, but her efforts were futile. The puddle of sauce on the red carpet she landed on made it nearly impossible for her to not slip and fall back down.

She frantically searched for a piece of nearby furniture. Unfortunately, the spices stimulated a large portion on her face. Areas such as her eyes and lips were swollen from the exotic sting effect from the sauce. The cut on her face looked as if it wanted to burst.

Presently, not only did Isaac have Kyla in his embrace - Jason, Alfred, and Bryan also had their wives guarded in their arms. As Madam Wang depended on her hands to search for a table or chair, she heard Isaac's voice loud and clear.

"Excuse yourself. I've already said. I don't have a mother. Neither do I have a father. You are an uninvited intruder to our wedding and you are unwelcomed here. Since you've caused such a chaotic scene, you owe me a proper explanation for what happened here." The spiteful tone Isaac used to answer her question felt worse than rubbing salt to her already split wound.

Her sausage bruised lips failed to part, making her unable to answer his question. As soon as she tried sounding a vowel out of her throat, Selina, Celinda, and Jessica rolled their eyes and intervened.

Selina rotated her body to face Madam Wang as she told the entire story of how they overheard Madam Wang's plans in the ladies' restroom. As she mentioned specific details of what had happened, Kyla felt the arms around her tightened significantly, almost to the point where she needed air to breathe.

Kyla looked up to find her husband's gaze on her. She whispered, "I'm fine." However, her words did not make his fingers tremble any less from fear and anxiety.

If something had happened to Kyla and their child in her stomach, the consequences would not be as light as the current scenario. Just imagining the possibility of Kyla falling from her chair was enough to make him crazy.

"Overall, Madam Wang had full intentions to come and ruin the wedding as well as commit murder under all our noses. She had a thought-out plan on how to use the excuse of an accident to cover up all her schemes. She was crazy enough to want to fall on Kyla and stomp on her stomach until it was deflated like a balloon. We all heard it and are witnesses." Jessica summarized everything after Selina finished speaking.

Since nobody dared react after Selina's explanation, Jessica stepped in to break the deadly silence. She eyed her mother with such a lugubrious tone that nobody dared take her lightly. At first, the thoughts of someone as scheming as what Selina described seemed skeptical, but after hearing Jessica's words, everyone believed in their words.

Everyone knew Jessica and Isaac were siblings from the Wang family. If one were to think carefully, Madam Wang had indeed been an uninvited guest. If anything were to occur today, accidents or not, she would not have been penalized for showing up to her son's wedding. Now that things have escalated the way they did, everyone let out a sigh for the bride being safe at the end.

Nobody dared to imagine what would have happened if an auspicious event would turn into bloody murder. In fact, as long as Madam Wang would've deemed herself innocent and pushed the blame to it being an accident, most of them would've trusted her.

"How dare you?! Not only did you come uninvited, but also invaded a private wedding party, and made a huge mess. You actually had planned on killing my wife and the child in her stomach? You are not even human. You don't deserve to be called human. You're a disgusting piece of rusted rubbish! Someone call the police. Bring her to the police station. I will make sure you spend the rest of your life rotting behind bars. Your husband can't help you either." Isaac declared in front of everyone, clearly warning them to not interfere with his family affairs.

Hearing Isaac's decision to send her to the police led Madam Wang into denial. "Im...Impossible...you won't. I'm your mother. I gave birth to you. I...I..." Madam Wang shook her head, muttering words that only people from a close distance could hear.

"Why is it impossible? You called yourself our mother, but have you ever done what a mother should've done?! You beat, threaten and blackmail your own children into bringing the Wang family more fortune. When we refused your requests, you'd do whatever you think of to harm your children. Even when we don't need more wealth than we already have, you never had a moment of hesitation in your doings!"

"What right do you have to call yourself a mother? Just giving birth to us makes you our mother? We have done more than enough for the Wang family and are no longer part of your family registry. We are not your children and have separated ourselves from you and your husband's wicked claws! Now that you even dare to hurt my future nephew or niece, I will not let you off!"

Jessica gritted her teeth, tears rushed out like a wild flood down her cheeks. Wet streams moisturized her face as memories of how she was beaten and treated horribly in the past surfaced her mind once again. The nightmares and shadows she had were now haunting her again.

As if freezing water had seeped into her shoes, soaking her entire body in ice temperature, her body trembled vigorously. Her breathing hastened as if she had run hundreds of thousands of miles nonstop - even inhaling seemed to become a problem.

"Jessica, it's okay. It's okay. I am here. I'm here." Alfred whispered, his hands stroking her body to calm her anxiety. Though the amount of time they've spent together was not considered long, he knew how vulnerable she was and how tough she always pretended to be.

Selina was the second to realize something was not right with Jessica. She broke free from Jason's arms and alerted him to call an ambulance as she strode her way to where Jessica stood. "Call an ambulance!"

While Jessica struggled internally with her conflicting emotions, her hands subconsciously pressed on her lower abdomen. When she heard Selina's words, her vision became blurred. Strength seemed to drain out of her body as she fell into Alfred's arms. She whispered, "Hubby...my tummy hurts..."
