Ch.9

Ororo Munroe, Hank McCoy and Scott Summers all looked at me oddly before Scott acted like a douche and said I started all the problems so they didn't see why I should be the one asking questions. I grunted. "First off kid, no one asked for your opinion if you're going to act like a child. Secondly, speak to me that way again and I'll break your tailbone when I bend you over my knee like your parents should've to spank the stupid out of you. I asked for your names which is common curtesy when your professor creepy and the girl you clearly lust after starts trying to dig around in my head against my will."

He scowled and went to talk only for his mouth to disappear temporarily. I grunted. "Not done talking. It's rude to interrupt, asswipe. Now, thirdly, I didn't wake up the Egyptian guy, my people did when they found alien technology on him. Granted, mistakes were made, but my people put him down and yours basically just watched from the sidelines. Now, I'm not your enemy, but if you're all going to be rude mind rapists and assholes I can just as easily figure out what it is I am in a lab. So screw you all very much."

I turned and went to leave when Logan went to stop me. I raised an eyebrow. "Kid, I'm over two and a half million years old, immortal and I've fought beings that would make Apocalypse piss himself and run away like the child he was. If you think you intimidated me, you're sadly mistaken."

He put his hand on my chest saying I wasn't going anywhere. I looked down to it and up to him before upper cutting him so hard he flew through three floors and out the roof of the house, landing outside in a crater unconscious. I turned to the Professor. "Tell him when he wakes up that being polite would've gotten him further."

I turned to the rest. "The next person to put their hands on me will be sleeping it off beside him."

Hank spoke up. "Not to volunteer or anything, but are you really two and a half million years old?"

I shrugged. "More or less from what I can remember. It took a long time for the rest of humanity to evolve like me, I simply waited and that's two and a half million years before Christ and the weird religions of you people. Seriously, who worships a deity whose so powerful they created the multiverse? I mean, I guess it's polite and all, but what makes you people arrogant enough to think such a being gives a damn about your personal lives?"

He went to say he wasn't arrogant but I waved him off. "Not you, just a side rant. It happens when you're as old as I am and have been alone as long as I have. Anyways, questions answered because I am that polite and since you're all not asking, my name is Ozmondius or Oz for short. No, I don't remember my last name or if I ever had one. The sucky part of living forever with a human mind is that you tend to forget things until you learn how to remember and retain the knowledge you have."

I went to leave again and Jean went to stop me, but Professor creepy or Xavier stopped her, telling her to let me go because I clearly didn't want to be here anymore and we'd clearly gotten off on the wrong foot. Jean found my penthouse a day later and I was debating on having her shot so the Phoenix Force could just move on or simply dropping her through a portal to a planet in the Shi'ar empire which still existed.

In the end she made it to my penthouse since I wasn't in the office at the moment. I barely raised an eyebrow her way while I was watching the news and sipping a scotch in the hot tub by the pool. Natasha, done with current assignment at Stark Industries, was enjoying her day off with me, Wanda and Jessica. Seeing we were naked and she was very over dressed, she asked if we could talk.

I shrugged. "We're talking now. Anything you have to say, you can say in front of them. They know me better than most I guess."

Wanda slapped my shoulder as Jean asked if we could put on clothes and I shrugged. "I've a counter offer, how about you join us? Or is the mouthy idiot holding you back?"

She snorted saying Scott and her weren't together. She hesitated before stripping down to her panties and bra before getting in. I leaned back and Natasha handed her a martini while I asked. "So what is it you want, Phoenix Force avatar? To apologize for the mind rapey crap you and Professor creepy tried? Or something else?"

She said she was sorry and that it was how she was taught. I shrugged saying that the mind was more intimate than the body because it held the core of who a person was and one could argue that was far worse than physical rape to be mind fucked against your will by a powerful psychic. She flinched and I shrugged. "I don't care one way or another, you weren't able to get much out of me and you aren't doing it now or we'd know. This place is shielded against such things after all."

She sighed. "I came to find out if you knew how to help Logan."

I shrugged and raised a hand, making a box appear. I held it up for her and she took it before I got very close and told her. "The pill inside can remove the metal from his body, but that's not really why you're here is it?"

Her heart beat faster and she blushed a bit feeling me press against her stomach. I could smell her body reacting and preparing in case she said yes to something more. She blushed and stammered before saying she wanted to know about the Phoenix force. I sighed and scolded myself mentally for acting like a creepy animal.

I laid back and Wanda spoke as she relaxed beside Natasha. "The Phoenix Force is a powerful concept and being. Imagine the concepts of reality from Eternity to infinity, Death and Life having a consciousness and semi form. Lady Death for example is the primordial concept that makes up the laws of our reality based on her nature and whims."

She gestured to Jean. "The Phoenix force is life personified. Be it rebirth or basic life, the Phoenix is the embodiment of all life in the universe. Every now and then it chooses a champion or host to contain it's will called an avatar. What Oz no doubt eluded to before is the fact that it's chosen you. Though apparently Professor creepy mistook it for an evil entity because he locked it away inside you before it could fully manifest, quite ineffectively at that."

Jean hesitated and asked if we could help her then and I shrugged. "I can separate the Phoenix force from you and it'll go on to choose a new host, likely destroying earth and hunting me down for the rest of my existence or I can help you speak with it and help you reason with it so it doesn't lash out when it fuses with you fully, overriding your mind and will and using you like a glove as you're simply brushed aside or killed."

Wanda said there was always option three and Jean asked what that was. Wanda smiled and told her. "Oz here tries to seduce the Phoenix force and yourself into a joint sharing and blending like what would've happened naturally. You would be in control, but it would be like a natural part of you."

I grimaced. "Yeah, but-"

Natasha pinched my arm and said no buts because I was immortal now even without the rings and and she would be as well afterwards so long as she's not killed outright. She'd rubbed my chest saying she didn't want me to be alone and none of them would likely live forever like me. Jessica turned to Jean and sighed. "It's up to you of course. Though it'll be dangerous from what Wanda tells us. We aren't exactly down with the magic even with our training. She's just…gifted when it comes to magic."

They asked Jean if she was with anyone and she shook her head before looking at me. I told her plainly. "I don't marry and I won't be monogamous. Though I've only met a few women worth my time away from protecting this world."

I told her of the Ten Rings and she looked at the rings beside the pool as I explained what we do to protect humanity and the world as a whole. She asked why I fight and I shrugged, not really having an answer for her and just saying. "It's all I know, it's all I can remember doing since I learned how. I'm old, older than any human has a right to be I'd wager. I don't remember everything that happened before I was sent back in time or how I even got there beyond the pain. The years alone just sort of blend together because I might've gone mad a few times before I recovered."

She asked if I was mad now and I shrugged. "No more than most people, I think. Everyone has issues and if they say they don't or that they're completely sane then they're lying to you or just dumb. I've had a purpose for the last hundred thousand years, ever since humans evolved from cavemen. I protect our world from those who would destroy or conquer it, nothing more or less."

I stood up and looked down to her saying that my mission comes before emotions, before relationships and before love itself because that's how I repaired my sanity, with a drive and purpose to protect earth. She said she could live with that and it sure beats being possessed or seeing earth destroyed. She asked how we do this and Wanda took Jean's bra off before sliding her hands under water.

Jean blushed as her panties were tossed aside as well.
