The girls were getting restless so Faith took them to the Bronze and we ended up having to dust three Uber vamps that came after them at the Bronze and killed several of the humans there. Giles had gotten a lead on Caleb who while dead was still a big agent of the First so he sent Andrew and Spike to check it out. Andrew had nearly lost a hand to me when I ate the hot pockets and shared one with Faith because it was the last of them.
He'd reached for it and I growled before Giles pulled him away and volunteered him for the mission while Faith snatched said hot pocket from me. I growled and she split it before saying that if I kept growling at her she'd throw down or we'd get bouncy and she wasn't sure which one she'd prefer from me. I ate and waved a hand, making a stack of hot pocket boxes appear from my ring. I refilled the fridge and stretched while popping a lot of bones as I grunted. "If you want to fight, be prepared to get your ass kicked."
She gave a mock surprised look. "He speaks. Here I was thinking you'd gone all caveman."
I huffed. "It's harder to speak than before. Mostly because my animal instincts are fusing with my slayer ones now. Sineya was similarly afflicted after her change. Trauma from being soul raped by a demon and some assholes with magic sticks and chains."
I rubbed my temples. "The damage is taking a long time to heal and isn't sitting well with my animal instincts that refuse to be a victim. It is…infuriating."
She nodded slowly and her doe eyes softened before asking how bad it was. I grunted. "Outside it was like watching someone deep throat a black fog of evil. Inside it felt like nothing I've ever experienced and more pain than being burned alive only when it was done, the oily blackness stayed and became apart of me."
I grunted as I washed up and she touched my shoulder only to get choked while dangling from the ground while I growled. I shook myself and dropped her, apologizing. She said it was no big deal before sighing. "It really did a number on you didn't it?"
I clenched my fists before sighing as I released them. "I am adapting. It's difficult not to lash out and it's led to Spike being hurt a lot when I can't find vampires or demons to hunt. Things are…complicated."
She nodded slowly. "I'm starting to get that. So you and B, huh?"
I grunted. "It's complicated and none of your business."
She held up her hands in surrender before Buffy came in. Faith took the girls to the Bronze and we followed when Robin called saying he'd seen the Turok-Han headed their way. A fight ensued and the Turok-Han were dead so we took the underage drunk girls back to the house. We had a big meeting about Caleb being dead, the Bringers regrouping outside of town somewhere and the scythes which I was able to find information on.
To that end Buffy, Faith and I headed out to see the last Guardian in the old pagan temple. To my surprise there was only one old African woman whom spoke English. I knew instantly when I saw her and touched her face. "Sin?"
She nodded with tears in her eyes and a kindly smile. She said I did the right thing letting the Guardians take her and because of the rings she was able to live a life and survive a permanent death with her own minor healing abilities I'd passed on added to her slayer power. She turned to Buffy and told her she wasn't the first slayer to be revitalized, just the one the First was able to catch a break and use to come back with because it'd had the time to regather itself.
She told them they knew who the scythes belonged to, but now she could tell them what they were and what they could do. She explained a bit only for a group of bringers to come. We killed them and Sin ended up stabbed badly. I went to put the suit on her and she stopped me saying she was old, tired and had lived a full life so she wanted to pass on now instead of sharing in my curse.
I touched her face and held as she passed. I turned to Buffy and Faith with red eyes and told them to run fast and hard. They didn't and I emitted a blast of pain, rage and magic that engulfed the entirety of the graveyard. I walked out of the graveyard crater and didn't say a word to them or Angel who was there.
I cleaned myself up with magic and ripped off the shredded shirt, putting a new one on. Angel asked what happened and I ignored him while walking away. Faith said she'd check on me so Buffy told Angel my long lost daughter just died and I lost control of the magic in me briefly. Faith pulled me out of my solemn thoughts and asked if I got my head on straight.
I told her coldly that I'd be fine, not that I ever had a choice to be otherwise and not that I could die permanently even if I wanted to. So, funny story, Buffy made Xander kidnap Dawn so by the time we returned Dawn kicked Buffy in the shin and called her a dumbass. I wasn't in the mood to hear the rest so I went outback and meditated.
Buffy came out and asked if I was coming to bed. I shook my head. "Not with you. Not when you clearly aren't done with whatever you and Angel have."
She flinched and asked. "You heard then?"
I nodded. "Everything from cookies to me just being available. The fact that I can smell him all over you only drives the rest home."
She flinched harder now and went to explain only I waved her off. "I get it, I do. I was just convenient and when I had my trip through time you realized I'd only ever be convenient sex because I couldn't commit to the rest of my life when nothing can kill me including time."
I stood up and grunted. "I'll fight beside you, follow your orders and protect those I can, but call me a hypocrite all you like, I won't be someone's convenient booth call and share their bed for years. I know I've been messed up for a long time, longer than you know me, but I've always been honest with you, so do me the curtesy of doing the same."
She nodded slowly and I sighed. "That's it then, we're through."
She nodded again with tears in her eyes. I turned away telling her I'd get my stuff in the morning and spend tonight fixing what I can inside of myself. I sat back down and meditated all night before cleaning my stuff out in the morning. Buffy told everyone of the scoobies the plan she came up with in her room.
I told her I couldn't do the spell she wanted because I was a male slayer and it would activate only males coming from me if there are any others in the line that was made when I became one. So it was left to Willow and Tara which was fine by me. I cleared out the town of people for the rest of the day before looting it of everyone from food to medical supplies and cash. When I was done with that, I helped Faith and Robin block off the tunnels into the sewer systems that would force any vampires into the sunlight traps above.
After we were done with that, I was told Dawn would be using my suit while Xander, Giles and Anya would use the orbs of Nezzla'Khan. They would have the pick of the dark object weapons while Excalibur and the like would be wielded by them. Since there were three scythes, Buffy's would be used to do the spell while mine would be passed around since my claws worked just as well.
I passed out flamethrowers, Molotov cocktails, cases of incendiary grenades, rocket launchers and enough firepower without guns to level a city. It would literally be one hell of a war. After we were done, I rolled a magical joint and lit up in the backyard while Giles, Andrew and Amanda played D&D. Anya was out like most of the potentials while Buffy was in Spike's arms.
The next morning Robin declined the extra weapons saying he had his own and the rings. I told him not to get cocky or it'd possibly get him killed. We went down in the hellmouth with Spike where we unleashed hell and Willow worked her spell. Flamethrowers and weapons of all kinds took out a huge portion of the army of Uber vamps. Still, there was more where they came from and the waves of them seemed to just keep coming even when the flamethrowers ran out of gas and we ran out of incendiary grenades.
Some Uber vamps got passed us while we switched to hand to hand combat and fought with all we had. On the bright side the spell worked and they were all slayers now, but the down side came in the form of a never ending assault of vampire hordes. I released a massive fireball that wiped out a full third of the army but they just kept coming like a swarm of angry ants from the tunnels connected to the giant cavern.
I leapt off the side of the cavern wall and brought down hundreds of Uber vamps in a savage fury of animalistic rage. Every swing killed dozens while their weapons did nothing to me. I was lost in the carnage and roars killing them all until the cavern started shaking and beams of light cut a swath through them. I climbed fast using my claws to reach the edge while Buffy said her goodbyes to Spike.
I picked up a still breathing slayer and my scythe from the smell of it before seeing Faith run out with hers and Buffy have her own. I followed Faith out hot on her heels and boarded the bus with her and Rona. Dawn gave me my watch and I used it to heal up the critically injured while the bus moved. A thump later and I knew Buffy was atop the bus.
I didn't think anything of Giles driving the bus until I saw how bad off Robin was. He stopped me from applying the watch saying it was too late, the pain was gone. I sat back on my haunches and put the watch on him but he was right, the nanites couldn't bring back the dead and his body was shutting down faster than they could be released into his system. I applied healing magic as well, but he gave Faith the Ten Rings, telling her he wouldn't get to surprise her after all.
As soon as he said that, he gasped and I heard his heart stop. I tried CPR, electrical jolts and went to use dark magic, but Willow stopped me of all people saying he was gone and it was dangerous to bring back the dead. Faith asked me not to desecrate him like that and shuddered before closing his eyes. I moved on to helping the other seriously injured after regaining control over my emotions.
One by one they were fully healed while the bus came to a stop. Anya had survived and so had Andrew and the rest so seven slayers dead and Robin. When I carried Robin off the bus, I laid him down on the sand beside the road and held up my hands. I spoke in old Norse and sent him off to Valhalla while his body turned into gold energy and was sucked through a portal I'd opened to my old reality.
I closed my eyes and sighed. "The last of my descendants are dead. His soul was returned to the kingdom of gods and warriors, Valhalla, the great halls of Odin and the Nordic gods I once ruled over as their king. He will take my place in the eternal feast and merriment alongside his mother and ancestors. Such is my last will and the last ties I had as the god king of Asgard, the realm of gods. May he fight the peace I've been denied."
I stood off my knees put my watch back on before turning to the others. Faith asked. "This whole time you were a god?"
I grunted. "No, I'm entirely human, well, mostly. But I did marry a goddess of war and ruled over the Nordic gods of my first reality. As such I had certain right and pull when it came to the dead permitted into their afterlife. I just used the last I had to ensure Robin could be with his mother and ancestors in the halls of Valhalla, where the Valkyries and champions of Asgard roam. Only Sineya couldn't go because her soul is bound to the slayer line and she's not of my blood. Seeing as I can't die, it was only fitting that the last of my bloodline takes my place upon the throne there beside the other kings of Asgard."
