Ch.58

Adam Knight came for Lana a few weeks later and got his ass handed to him. He died by nanites without a chance for being saved, but Lana was alright having been saved by me. Next a group of fake FBI agents went to the Kent farm and I knocked them all out, taking the key and giving it to Johnathan. I broke the legs of the fake FBI agents and told Johnathan to call the cops because they were Lionel's men, not FBI agents.

I left and the cops dragged the fake FBI agents away while they weren't saying shit. Johnathan went to the cave and lost the key since it opened a portal and went to Virgil Swann. Johnathan and Clark got out of there safely once the key was gone. A few weeks later Chloe got his with a truth serum gas at one of LuthorCorp's labs.

No one could lie to Chloe and it resulted in her catching a murderer, getting a confession from Lionel of him ordering the hit on his parents for the life insurance to start LuthorCorp. I was there for that fun part, recording everything in high definition down to his threat about not responding to blackmail. I sent a copy to Lex with Lex's interview of Morgan Edge, Lionel's ordering of his treatment at Summerholt and the plan to fry his brain to erase the memories of Edge's confession.

It was all anonymous and untraceable, enough to lock Lionel away for good. In the meantime River paid for Lana's whole summer at the Paris school of the arts so Lana could experience life for herself. A month and a half later the Emily clone went crazy after learning Lana was leaving. She went insane and killed a couple orderlies at Belle Reve before she died trying to turn off the power to the dampeners.

A few days later Lionel was arrested once the recordings had been verified. Then Lana left town two days later, a fake Kara sent by Jor-El came to the Kent farm. They called us and we came over where I frowned seeing the girl. "She's imbued with Kryptonian powers by Jor-El's AI in the cave. Her body is that of a metahuman and barely functioning at that. Jor-El is using her to bring you to the cave and with the powers my magic is detecting, I'm probably the only one safe from her here and now simply because I can heal."

The fake Kara raised a mocking eyebrow. "You may have the powers of a Kryptonian, but don't assume you're immune to my power."

I snorted. "Little girl, I've not been afraid of anything since I walked through hell dimensions and laid waste to demon hordes scarier than you. You can tell Jor-El that his science may be more advanced than my own in some areas, but my powers are beyond anything Krypton has as a whole. Perhaps only Doomsday could face me and it wouldn't last long. You however are not it so don't get cocky."

She grabbed my arm and it started to disintegrate as energy waves washed over me. Skin and muscle fell away slowly but healed at inside speeds, forcing her power to a halt as it ran against a serious problem because I began healing faster than she could hurt me. The pain was there as my muscles and skin grew back leaving here barely sizzling my skin. I grabbed her by the throat and squeezed but she held up a hand in the other's direction.

I released her and she smiled. "Stay out of it and you won't have to experience the pain of loss. From the fear I see in you, it seems I've found your weakness."

I growled as blades extended from between my knuckles. There was a knock at the door and she lowered her hand while I put away my claws. Lex was there and he wanted to speak with Clark. After Lex left, she gave Clark until the end of the day two days from now to go with her or she'd kill all the humans in our lives and Kara as well if I interfered again.

I grimaced and told Clark's parents and him that they were on their own. Kara wanted to act, but I held her in my arms, stopping her. "She won't hurt Clark and Jor-El wants to control him, not kill him. We will get him back someday, but I won't let you die because Jor-El's AI is an asshole."

Two days later Lana left town, Clark testified and the evidence was overwhelming. Clark went with the fake Kara, named Lindsay Harrison, to the cave. Johnathan was knocked unconscious into a coma, Clark was gone and Lindsay was destroyed. Chloe was the target of an assassination attempt by Lionel as a key witness thanks to her testimony of the video.

Lex was poisoned and Lionel was denied bail. A Kryptonian symbol was burned into the Kent farm field. Now here's where things got interesting. Three months later Vince was purged of nanites while his new liver gave him a new life.

Lex had flown all over the world looking for a cure and failed, pushing himself too hard. Clark came back and took the stones of power, opening the fortress of solitude before Kara and I freed him with black Kryptonite. Johnathan woke up from his coma when Clark returned to normal and Lois Lane was in town. I had words with Jor-El at the fortress and the AI seemed to have fixed itself now that it was in the fortress.

As for Lana, she'd returned to town with Jason Teague hot on her heels. Chloe was found to be alive and Lois, with Clark's help, stopped the metahuman assassin Lionel sent after her. Lana stopped by the mansion to let us know she was in town and River gave her the bad news, saying she knew already. She showed Lana all about the Teague's and their history with Lana's witch ancestor as well as Jason luring Lana to the monastery where they'd reburied Countess Margaret Isobel Thoreaux.

She told her about the symbol on her back meaning she was possessed and Isobel would be awakened by her spell book if she touched the blood she left in it that the Teagues were planning to sell anonymously to get into her hands. Lana took it hard so Inara, Kara and River told her about everything. Sarah was off in Central city helping people that needed help so she couldn't help here unfortunately.

Still, holograms, ship showing and a full explanation down to my own true history, everything was called for. Only Clark remained a secret and only because Kara wanted him to remain that way until he chooses to tell her. It was a very long talk down to the fact that Kara fibbed saying she'd used the crystals already so now we needed her to pretend to be with Jason to get the spell book so we can force Isobel out of her.

River promised her that the Teagues wouldn't harm her and that I'd be there invisible if Jason caught on and tried to hurt her if she needed me. Lana asked why it was we lied so long and River sighed. "We'd hoped to keep you out of this dangerous world. It was only after Oz and I visited Paris to see you and found you with Jason Teague that we dug into what he and his mother were up to. That's when we found out about your ancestor, the spell and her tie to the stones of power which as you know now were just Kryptonian crystals that formed an alien repository of knowledge. We'd hoped you'd go to Paris, fall in love and graduate there, safe from all the craziness that goes on in this town and around all of us."

She turned to me and asked. "Do you have anything to say then?"

I sighed. "I've lived a long time and all I've learned is that in times like this it depends on the strength of the one carrying the burden of knowledge. You can call us liars, hate us or share our secret with the world. We won't stop you and we'll likely leave, but then you could accept our words, choose to ignore them and live as blissfully as you can manage in the chaos or we can help you adjust, teach you to survive and give you strength to do so, powers and even a suit like ours, helping us to protect everyone else where we can as we've always done."

I shrugged. "The choice is yours Lana, it always has been and it always will be so far as we're concerned."

She sighed saying it was a lot to process, asking for a couple days. River told her to take as long as she'd like. Sure enough Jason Teague followed her back to town and after a few days she agreed to help get the witch spirit out of her, asking that I not follow her to the bathroom and the like while invisible.

I huffed and rolled my eyes but she got the idea and sighed. "Right, old perverts don't exist."

I scowled and she smiled before saying it was alright if I couldn't promise, being hard of hearing and such. I snorted. "I'm not deficient and I've no interest in what you do in a bathroom girl."

She pointed out. "That's not a promise."

I growled. "I give you my word I won't enter any restrooms with you, but I'd be lying if I wasn't hoping Jason or his mother didn't follow you into one with a sharp implement now."

She rolled her eyes before saying. "You'd stop them from entering…right?"

I just cloaked and River, Inara and Kara smiled. Kara said she'd trade off sometimes so she wasn't alone while I slept. I grunted but none of them heard me due to the sound dampening field around me. River told her. "The best part about him being invisible is that no one can hear him swearing at us."

I smacked her ass and they heard that while I appeared and told River that when this was over she was going to need ice for her rear after I was done with her. I disappeared and Kara said Lana might be right about the old pervert thing. They each, including Lana, got snacks on their rear. Lana rubbed her butt saying she might have gone too far with that one.

Inara shrugged saying that if she wasn't here I'd have likely taken them right there while invisible as foreplay while more spanking was applied. Lana blushed and sighed. "Ok, maybe we're all a little perverted sometimes."

I could smell her desire spark at the thought and appeared. "Ok, stop that or go to a bathroom and rub one out because I'm not being called old pervert for the rest of eternity for taking someone who wants it."

Lana's blush only deepened and she apologized before righting herself. I ended up following Lana around to the apartment over the talon and the school when she went there. I recorded Jason's secret calls and meetings with his mother. I stopped Abby from kissing her, if barely and prevented a big issue there.

Abby had kissed my hand and ended up knocked the fuck out. I told Lana of Abby's ability thanks to her mother illegally using refined meteor rocks to enhance her looks in plastic surgery.
