Years flew by in peace and soon I held my women while our ten, eleven and twelve year olds played with other kids from the former group. Carl was dead sadly, having gone out on his first Reclaimer mission into Canada when he turned seventeen, dying of exposure from what the doctors said. He'd gotten boxed in with a dead radio and died during the harsh winter that hit. I was relaxing on the porch stroking Maggie's stomach that had a slight bulge.
She was the only one pregnant now because the rest figured out I'd literally keep them barefoot and pregnant if they let me. In the end Maggie played the all too willing sacrifice while the rest began insisting on condoms. She grew comfort in knowing I was still there for her even while all of the US was taken back, Canada now as well. Half of Mexico and the UK was at war with walkers, most of the islands being wiped or fortified in between.
The Reclaimers had a force comparable to that of the entire world's forces combined or what's left of them. They were drawn from all peoples and all countries with survivors, hitting everywhere and pushing to cleanse this world of walkers for good. Unfortunately, not everything goes as planned and not for lack of trying. Not five years later the world celebrated a confirmed last walker kill when we found a massive meteor storm had struck the sun and a large solar storm began to effect the world, ahead of a solar flare so massive the astrologists said it would wipe out all life on earth and vaporize Atherton atmosphere alongside turning the earth into used charcoal.
With massive storms, earthquakes and a freaking super volcano eruption, there was no way it could get wor-. I spoke too soon because a giant meteor was headed straight for the force field satellite system we'd managed to implement and protect the world. The meteor broke upon contact and small meteors rained down, killing most of Asia, the west coast and Australia. We'd used the super volcano to power it and the damn thing had worked and gone dormant.
It was only when the sun went cold and the shield began to fail because the earth was cooling did I realize it wasn't natural so I bought us some time using the world's power grid and all the reactors we had to buy a few months. Space ships were built and launched in the Nick of time as the shield failed. Some of the crazies stayed but it didn't do much with all of earth's population in ships which began to be torn apart by tidal forces in the vastness of space. The ship's shields bought them time, and I was able to save three ships out of twenty carriers.
It was devastating but was worse was the ship's hulls experienced critical failure due to hard cosmic radiation that seemed to be increasing by the second. We were down to the last ship when I said fuck it and used magic to shield the ship. The pressure increases by degrees and it took years before I began to tire under the strain. I'd tried repeatedly to open a portal and get the ship and people out.
Hell, I tried the speed force and even the infinity stones only the glove I'd taken out had melted and the stones just freaking vanished. I knew some being or other was intentionally doing this then and tried sorcery only my tethers to the stones and fabrics of reality were snapped immediately. Even when I knew how to access it I was being blocked.
I tried using every mystical artifact in my arsenal, hell, I even tried communicating with the God or whatever being it was. I paled seeing Chuck appear on the ship, telling me. "You're oddly frustrating you know that? I've tried everything short of collapsing this universe entirely to kill you all and damned if the power in you isn't formidable."
He smirked. "Still, it won't last much longer, magic or not. I can feel you straining to hold on and the moment you fall I can sweep this dust bucket from existence."
I growled and tried striking the omnipotent being with the force of all my fury, claws out and everything. He caught my hand and grimaced as I actually wounded him. "What the, ow. That actually hurt a bit like stubbing a toe. What the heck are you made of?"
He put a hand on my head and I roared, screamed and even shed a few tears as the Uru and Vibranium was ripped from my body entirely. I began to glow with the force of a reality creating or destroying bomb from all the magic inside me, no longer able to be contained. Chuck looked thoughtful. "Interesting."
I blew up with the force of a billion reality bombs and found myself healing from a speck of DNA in the empty. It tried to eat me, but got extremely sick. It tried to purge me until Jack, the new God, had been fully established. With a look he understood everything from my time in the reality I'd lost Andrea, Amy….everyone, in.
He brought me out of the empty and asked where I'd like to go next because I hadn't fully formed and I was barely conscious. He said he couldn't give me what I wanted specifically, but he sympathized since he couldn't allow me to stay, not being a part of this reality originally. He opened a portal and told me they were safe, loved and happy in heaven.
It killed me inside, but I couldn't hate the kid who was the definition of innocent and good for something that wasn't his fault. He smiled and wished me luck, saying he'd compensate me for the loss of my claws since Chuck had removed them permanently. He made the slayer scythe appear and put it in a ring on a necklace before he sent me through.
