I met up with Jack who'd been fully briefed on the replicators and the possibility that they may become a serious threat once again. We headed back to the SGC thanks to the stone in my suit that made the wormhole form when I waved a hand. I sent the signal and we went through the gate without issue, returning to earth for a full debriefing. General Hammond had the interface conduit and seeing it was a mini Sam AI that could become large or small, he thanked me while Sam blushed.
The scientists found her fascinating and the semi AI Sam found them fascinating as well considering the knowledge she had at her disposal. While they were off getting their questions answered and learning things, Sam and I took the time to begin our own endeavors. Weeks later a new SG team was formed and was about to go on a mission when the new system locked them out and refused to dial the gate address.
Sam ran a diagnostic and found the reason. One of the DHD coding laws prevented them from dialing into a black hole and damned if they weren't happy it did. I told the major and his team they'd be pulled apart like taffy if they'd gone.
Sam wanted to dial the black hole and observe it, but her AI friend appeared on the monitor telling her over the speakers that it would be unwise because a black hole can power a stargate from dialing into it and keep the connection while a lensing effect makes a time distortion bubble from the wormhole that precedes the gravitational pull that'll tear apart the planet in increments until the entire planet is sucked into the black hole through the wormhole.
The SG-10 major said that defied the laws of physics and I smiled before Sam sighed seeing it. "The laws of physics as we know and understand them. As my husband constantly reminds me, we don't know everything and what we do know is more like suggestions compared to the ancients who themselves still don't know everything at a hundred million plus years ascended or not."
He frowned. "Who's your husband?"
She gestured to me. "That would be the four billion year old ancient who is stumped by synchronized swimming and cat videos."
I huffed. "Humans are weird."
She smiled and I turned to the major. "Trust me kid, you'll see weirder stuff here on earth than you'll ever see out in the galaxy. Mysteries can be solved, but the whys of why humans do certain things will have you scratching your head till the end of time. Ballet in water my ass. Cats on pianos and voice overs are mind boggling. What's so great about them that there needs to be ten thousand types? Who makes them and what's the point?"
I shook my head and Sam laughed before apologizing to the major and telling his stunned face that we'd just gotten a theater room in the new manor and I'd hooked it up to the internet only to be stumped by basic videos. I walked away cursing cat memes and weird humans with weirder tag names. Anyways, they were reassigned to a new gate address while I was working on upgrading my suit and making designs for an upgraded satellite system needed for earth.
Weeks later we met Machello, an alien hunted by the goa'uld for fifty years for making advanced weapons to fight them. He tried to get Daniel to switch bodies with him, but I stopped Daniel, pulling him back. "He's deceiving us. He intends to swap bodies with Daniel because he's dying from advanced age. He wants a new body and the device can imprint the minds of those touching it on one another."
Machello got angry but had a small heart attack and passed out. I put my suit on him and carried him, telling Sam to bring the data pad but not to touch anything else here because he was an ambush hunter and anything could be a deadly trap. Once Machello was on the medical bed, his heart was repaired and his body was basically restored to the peak of health.
Even if he looked old, he was as healthy as a horse and woke up. Once he was off the medical bed, he would slowly decline because he was in fact a very old man, but for now at least he was happy to feel relatively well. I warned him it wouldn't last forever and we weren't sacrificing someone so he could go off and party. He was willing to trade the encryption to the tablet for it, but General Hammond refused so Machello took his one day of life remaining and lived.
When his health began to decline again to a more extreme degree, he was willing to do anything for a new body. In the end her died after I put him into a dream state and helped him remember his forest memories. I opened the door to ascension and his body became pure energy as he died. He reformed slowly and thanked me before Janus appeared and took him away.
Sam said Machello told her how to decrypt the tablet before he left and wished us luck in our fight against the goa'uld. Jack asked about the glowing and I stood from the chair saying. "I helped him ascend by showing him the way. He took the steps himself so it was more like guiding than anything."
I took a step and passed out in mind crippling pain. It lasted days and felt like centuries before it passed. Janet told me when I woke up that my brain chemistry spiked to nearly a hundred and fifty percent capacity while my body repeatedly healed the issues and bloody was constantly discharged from my mouth, nose, eyes, ears and skin itself.
She said they had to do a craniotomy to release the pressure in my skull when the blood built up there because I was drowning in it. I shrugged. "I've recovered from ashes. A bit of a gore show isn't much."
She sighed and Sam told me not to do that again because it'd terrified her, healing or not. I grunted and promised before sighing. "It seems there's a backlash I didn't foresee in helping others ascend now. I wonder why or if that was even the cause."
I nearly missed the whole Apophis and Sokar death issue a week later being on sick leave and busy in my lab finishing the satellites. I had no assistance to give since they dialed out as soon as Apophis died. I did however let them use my suit to copy Apophis's memories and thoughts. The one thing I did do was add shield emitters to the gate room and the gate itself as secondary Iris.
Shield emitters were planted all over the base where the blast doors were as well as a backup emergency precaution while Sam managed to made a decent arc reactor and solar reactor combination to power them once they were tied into the emergency systems. The shields were basic goa'uld level tech, but effective for now at least and more than good enough in General Hammond's mind.
I was busy launching the satellites with NASA's help while Sam was launching the first UAV through the gate for the first airborne scouting mission. Once the rocket went up using propulsion technology and released the satellites that took up a global position and scattered further out in half the case all across the solar system at very fast speeds. Arc and solar reactors powered the energy cells inside them that stored excess power while they took in ambient energy as well.
They scanned all of the solar system and watched for threats from the goa'uld or anyone seeking to attack earth. To that effect they picked up an alien ship and it wasn't goa'uld from what the scans indicated. The ones around earth scanned the planet for all technology, goa'uld or otherwise, finding a great deal.
While the team found the solution to a singing plant issue, I'd found two alien ships on earth, one in the solar system and a ton of alien technology just laying around. General Hammond authorized teams two through seven to hunt down and acquire all alien technology on earth that they can. This included two ancient outposts, one being the place Atlantis was built on the Greek island of Santorini and the other being in the Arctic under the ice by about a mile of ice at the moment.
A great deal of goa'uld tech was littered across Egypt and the world at large, most buried, but goa'uld technology wasn't the only kind there was on earth. I spent weeks gathering technology from all across the globe, going so far as to find and capture the goa'uld Setesh, or Seth as he was called these days. Once the disciples he'd gathered were stunned and free of Nish'ta, he was hauled off with all the weapons and goa'uld tech to the SGC with a secret ring platform. I barely had time to retrieve the ancient healing device and warned them not to turn it on because it radiates a type of radiation that drives humans mad and raises the recent dead in zombie like states.
Jack didn't want to touch it after that. Still, I told him it was the precursor to the sarcophagus and the medical beds which if I studied in a controlled lab I might be able to further perfect. For now it was locked away while we dealt with a cloned boy and his Reetou mother there with us. I put up sensors all over the base and we found her which was comforting that she wasn't hostile.
I greeted her peacefully and asked the boy to translate if she can't understand us. He said she could do I told her my name and that we'd do what we can to help her son. I noticed the cellular degradation and put my suit on the boy. I took out a vial from my belt of magical shrinking stuff as Jack called it and told little Charlie that I was going to give him a special serum I'd made from my own immortal blood to stabilize and reverse human cellular degradation.
I told him he'd become a healthy young boy in no time flat. He warned us of the Reetou coming and I told General Hammond it would be wise to contact the Tok'ra for TER weapons I can study to mount to the turrets in the gate room and halls now that the sensors prevent cloaking technology or natural cloaking physiology from working in the base. He agreed and soon Jacob stopped by with Martouf and another male Tok'ra.
I scanned the TERs and told them it would take a few minutes to replicate them from scratch using the nanites in my suit to build and augment them into turrets. I left to my lab and got to work, making dozens which were immediately mounted all over the base on every floor with the sensors. I put in a palm scanner for the Iris system and put all the authorized personnel into a database for the palm scanner system before completing the turrets.
When I was done the whole base was searched for ordinance before Jack took a team to check out the Reetou terrorists. A group came back with them and died in the gate room. Hearing about the amount, I recommended a naquadah enhanced nuclear warhead be sent through. General Hammond didn't even hesitate before wiping them out.
As for the boy, Jack wasn't fit to keep him and the serum seemed to barely stave off his illness but it had already progressed to his organs so while the degradation was healed up, the damage to his internal organs meant he was still dying and the nanites and medical bed could only do so much without replacing his organs with nanite metal. The medical bed could stave off the issue indefinitely with daily uses but the Tok'ra offered an alternative solution.
The mother Reetou had left peacefully so the Tok'ra took the boy along with the advanced sensors and new phase shifting turrets.
