Mindspace

Fang Qui was momentarily dazed hearing the announcement, how could he still have the mindspace? Wasn't his body obliterated during the travel between planes? It appears that the mindspace was more complicated than most humans thought considering that it moved over with the souls of humans from earth. After being dazed for a while and analysing how the mindspace could have moved with him his surprise was replaced by happiness.

The mindspace will be a massive help to all humans that moved from earth to the boundless plane. Most cultivators in this realm arduously cultivated for months if not years on end only having a vague idea of their progress towards their next cultivation realm. Thats why the cultivation realms are initially divided in 1st to 9th stage human realm but after breaking through to spirit realm it is divided in initial middle and late stage, why is it that they don't divide the spirit realm in 9 stages aswell? Because in the human cultivation realm every stage comes with an obvious improvement that can be seen and felt on the body, but starting from the spirit realm there is only a big qualitative leap after the first 3 stages which is when you cross from initial to middle stage and after the 6th stage when you progress into late stage of the realm!

In fact every realm is divided into 9 stages but without any discerning factor to sense whether a person is in the 4th or 6th stage of the spirit realm they can only refer to it as spirit realm middle stage. Thats also where the mindspace comes in play. The mindspace is a device capable of sensing the state of the host's body very accurately and can analyse information like a supercomputer. Meaning that all humans that have transferred over from earth will have a much more accurate view of their own strength and will even be able to sense how far they still have to go to reach the next stage.

And that is only one of the basic advantages of the mindspace! Imagine having a supercomputer that analyses your body at all times and tells you what you did wrong when practicing a technique or cultivation method. That's like having a godly teacher by your side at all times!

Of course the mindspace had its limits and that is that the mindspace is merged with the body and mind so it can only analyse the body itself and cannot analyse things outside of the body of the host. Fang qui was quickly able to realise the many advantages the mindspace could bring and he was certain many other humans from earth all over the boundless continent would realise the same thing. Too bad the system isn't like the OP systems from earth's cultivation stories where you just have to kick a person with high cultivation base in the nuts to advance 5 stages all at once. Fang Qiu couldn't help but let his mind wander as to what it would be like to have a system like in the novels on earth... after being immersed in his own thoughts for a bit he cleared his mind and felt like now was the ideal time to finally think about starting to cultivate.

Starting to cultivate is not a very difficult thing, the only reason he had no cultivation base was that soulless people only act on instincts and thus cannot do complicated things like cultivating, Fang Qiu could still be considered relatively lucky that he didn't miss the ideal age to start cultivating yet. Most people from earth would be way over the ideal age by the moment they wake up considering that the ideal age to start cultivating is fifteen years old. Fang Qiu was just over 16 years old when the rift opened so he should be around the same age now.

Looking at his body he actually looked almost identical like he did in his life on earth. The only differences are his hair and the white mark. Members of the spirit clan all have snow white hair but unlike albino people on earth it kind of looked handsome on Fang Qiu. The only other difference in his looks besides his now white hair is the white glowing mark going from below his left eye to below his right eye as if a holy being cut his face horizontally right below the eyes. That is the mark all spirit clan members have and the purer the bloodline the more the mark will glow as if holy light is radiating from it. Considering that Fang Qiu's father was the patriarch of the spirit clan his bloodline was very pure so his mark truly looked as if an angel cut his face with a holy weapon. And it didn't feel weird in the slightest either and even made him look more noble. He silently reminded himself to never hide in a dark place, if he did he could just cry himself to death considering that he had a light source in the middle of his face.

But the odds of Fang Qiu having to go into hiding is very small as people on the boundless continent even saw the mark as a warning, should people attack someone from the spirit clan discernible by the mark on their face they would likely cause their entire clan to be murdered. The spirit clan are the best pill refiners and spirit weapon refiners on the continent so there is no lack of people wanting to get in their good books. If word ever got out that someone killed or harmed a spirit clan member people would be lining up to murder their entire clan to the last man. That was why the mark was seen as a blessing and made many people wish they were him. Although the spirit clan was blessed with heaven defying aptitude for refining the opposite was also true and that was that they could not cultivate their bodies. The heavens were fair after all and this was also the reason that the spirit clan always managed to remain neutral no matter how powerful they got. After all, the spirit clan had no body cultivation which gave them a massive flaw in battles if they were to ever meddle in conflicts.

This situation also made it so Fang Qui would not be able to become a fighter but if he could not become a fighter why not become the greatest refiner on the boundless continent then? Fang qui would piss himself if he were to fight someone anyways so why not play it smart and have others fight for him.

Normal races cultivate both the body and spirit qi of heaven and earth. The spirit qi of heaven and earth is their actual cultivation base divided in human - spirit - core formation - earth and lastly heaven realm. Each realm is divided in initial - middle and late stage with only human realm being divided in 9 stages with the first 3 being initial stage, the 4th to 6th stage being middle stage and 7th to 9th stage being late stage. In truth all realms have 9 stages but starting from spirit realm the differences between the stages is less obvious so thats why the cultivators of the boundless realm use initial, middle and late stage starting from spirit realm.

Secondly besides cultivating spirit qi all cultivators cultivate their bodies as well. To reach the next realm in spirit qi cultivation cultivators just have to increase the density of spirit qi in their bodies but cultivators should also guide the spirit qi to improve their bodies which takes much more time than merely increasing the density of spirit qi in their bodies. There are many cultivators who reach the end of their lifespan who stop cultivating their bodies and instead focus on spirit qi because reaching the next realm through cultivating both the spirit qi and body takes too long and by then they might be dead. Those old monsters are usually referred to as glass cannons because their bodies often can't handle the shockwaves from battles when their body cultivation is too weak.

This also easily explains why Fang Qiu cannot become a fighter since all spirit clan cultivators can easily be killed by shockwaves from battles at levels way below them. Of course there existed figures in the spirit clan who used to be famous warriors but they needed many treasures to protect their bodies and it is way easier to just hire a cultivator to for them instead of spending tons of treasures on spirit clan members to make up for their weak bodies.

After lining up all his memories related to cultivation Fang Qiu finally got a clear image of what his current situation is like and what he should do next.
