Chapter 10. A shorter path.

In the palace's quiet library, Hypnos traced the phoenix ring with his appraising gaze.

He remembers the sensation of the flames all over his body. His blood ran cold and he was sure that if he were anyone unworthy of the inheritance, he would be incinerated the moment the fire broke out.

Despite this, a visible breach was found the moment he put the ring on his finger. Elizabeth on his lap had not been affected by the flames.

It could just be a whim of the ring's inventor. Which only the moment bearer would be influenced by magical formation.

With the magic present in the formation, he was not sure that he himself would not have been incinerated by a false step.

His eyes narrowed and he can only admit his little strength.

If for some reason Liz was affected due to his naivete, he would not know what to do in this colorless world. He would probably just live in seclusion in his palace and when he was ready he would jump to another higher world.

Rotating it with his finger, the clan's coat of arms lit up, due to which he did not notice some rune lines that moved to form words readable to him.

The words were: Heaven and Earth reigning. The noblest Celeste family. Austräs Vermillion.

"Ho. Arrogant and Proud… I like it!" He said with a weak smile.

There was nothing to do. All gods, without even an exception, were proud in their hearts. Of course, Hypnos was not outside that long list. Although he consciously retains himself a little due to his conflicted past with Thanatos.

Tong! Tong!

A distinctive sound rang through the library.

At the entrance there was a classic and loud clock that rang due to the hours.

Slightly closing his eyes, he stood up and put the books in place.

"Well, it's time to get the wand with the impatient one." He murmured sighing and opened the high doors.

As soon as the bright light came in through the departing doors, he saw the impatient one.

The impatience itself came in the form of a young woman with long brown hair and green eyes that showed agitation.

She repeated tiptoe movements quickly, a symbol of her anxiety.

Turning to Hyrat behind him, he sighed and asked.

"Help me?"

"…." It can only observe him with painful and complacent eyes.

"Let's get on with it…" He was thinking about renouncing his existence and becoming a robot without feelings.

Accompanied by Hyrat, the three were directed by an apparition to the doors of the wand store.

Completely tired of having to go to the store a third time, he would do it the last time.

If he didn't have to do something of the utmost importance about the wandmaker, he wouldn't even spend his time there.

Hypnos would not admit that he also did not know where his palace was to address and receive any orders ...

As soon as they approached the dusty doors, they were greeted by a sign written in large, red letters: Closed!

Without caring, he pushed the door, which surprisingly opened easily.

Probably courtesy to them. Since probably one that wasn't, they would turn around and leave with the sign.

Not being greeted by the figure of Garrick at the counter, they went straight down the stairs.

As they approached the wand workshop, loud noises and deep thuds sounded.

"Hm, of course ..." the voice recognized by them as Garrick said alone.

He jumped when a voice came.

"Are you going crazy old man?"

When he saw the familiar figure of the golden-haired young man, he sighed.

"You almost killed me boy, didn't you see the closed sign on the door?"

Hypnos shrugged and said.

"I would go in anyway, I'm sure you thought about it and left it open, so you don't have to buy another door."

"Let it go. I came after our wands. I hope they're ready old man, I don't want to have to come back here again for this."

"Besides, what were thuds and why were you talking to yourself?"

Garrick ran a hand through his tousled hair and said with a sigh.

"Your wand is ready young, patience is a virtue. And the noises were that I was being pushed back to the wall because I tried to test the wands. Apparently, these materials are really worth their names and deny anyone but their owners." He said with a shrug.

"Come, test your new companions." He said indicating the wands that fit perfectly into velvet boxes.

Elizabeth appeared in front of her wand as if she had used an apparition there. Her face was serious, but his eyes did not hide the excitement.

Holding the wand like a precious relic, it swung slightly in the air.

As expected, small rays of light shone over the wand, like fireworks that congratulated her on her compatibility.

Taking his time, Hypnos walked in front of the wand.

closed, he could feel the pulsating waves coming from the wand. Its vibration was similar to the materials used and vibrated in a similar way to the natural energy present in the world.

That's probably why European wizards used them. While the wands were connected through their materials, nature itself was much easier to use the wild mana in the air, very different from performing magic with your own hands, where the user would have to mold nature to their wills.

An easy path, but not satisfactory if the goal was to become truly powerful.

He shook his head in disappointment, but this was his momentary way of experiencing the magical paths that this world could provide him.

Holding the wand in his hands he waved it in the air and just as Liz a visual confirmation appeared.

A clapping noise came from behind him.

"Truly splendid, don't you think? The wand is the true form of human progress through the ages." His excited voice could not escape Hypnos' eyes.

A true fanatic for magic sticks! Hypnos would choose not to approach maniacs with that kind of strange fetish.…

Cutting through Garrick's peculiar monologue about how fascinating pieces of wood were, he said.

"Less wood and more business. Tell me, how much was the price."

Garrick looked disappointed that he had failed to get followers for his stick-worshiping sect, but he said.

"100 Galleons for each one. After all, the materials are rare and difficult to manipulate."

Hypnos nodded and handed him a bag of 200 gold coins.

"It was good to do business with you…" Garrick was already saying goodbye to his clients when Hypnos cut him off again.

"Hyrat, Liz, can you wait for me outside for a moment? I still have a few words with Mr. Ollivander."

Hyrat and Liz understood it was private and went up the stairs outside the store.

When he noticed her figures outside the store he turned to Garrick with a not-so-friendly smile on his face.

"Good. Now would you like to tell me what is that spell on our wands?"
