Penelope rushed towards the forest. Who is Trevor really is? After what she discovered on the file. That Trevor was missing over a year and was dropped out in the school because of that. Then who is that Trevor in the forest? Who is she within the past months? She managed to arrive the place, and it seems that luck is not on her side when there is on one sitting on the tree. She just remembered that Trevor ran over the other side, but she is contemplating if she's going through it or not. She knows that it is prohibited to go to the other side, but she was determined to know everything, so the young lady ran over the riverbank. Before she could step on the water. Hands stopped her, forcefully pulling her away and both crashed at the ground.
"Trevor!" she shrieked as she desperate to stand up.
"Don't go there, Loffie..."
"I was looking for you."
"You shouldn't have been here. I've told you, why are you so always stubborn? You never listen!"
"Trevor, I'm worried about you."
"Really is that why you are trying to know about me? Are you really that desperate to find out who I really was? Well, I guess that principal told you now that I was freaking missing."
"How did you-"
"Of course, I know. I know everything Loffie."
"You're scaring me, Trevor." Penelope took a step back until she hits the cold tree behind her. Trevor, who is looking at her seriously, touched her cheeks. It felt much colder that before. "Trevor..."
"Loffie, I'm sorry."
"Trevor I, too. I'm sorry but why did you drop out? What happened to you?"
"If you are really that curious Loffie then fine. It has something to do with your accident- ahh" Trevor suddenly felt pain on his head as he clutches it so hard. – "damn, here it is again. He doesn't want me to tell you."
"My accident? Do you know that too, Trevor? Who are you in my life?"
"It's time for you to find out the truth, Loffie. Meet me a week after at the school's night party. I will be there. I promise I will tell you everything." A single tear escape from his eyes before retreating and head back to the other side of the river, not waiting for Penelope's reply as she shouts his name in distance.
...
"I found out Trevor knows everything more than me." She said to Dana as they both sat at the rooftop, eating their lunches together.
"I see, so what did he know?"
"He knew about my accident last year. So maybe he is already acquainted with me long ago? How come he only appears now? and he said he would gonna tell all he knows on this upcoming party." Silence enveloped between them as Penelope waiting for her reply, but she received none. She looked at her to see Dana on her deep thought. "Dana?"
"Oh, sorry Loffie, I see he said that... well, I am looking forward to seeing him as well. It's been a long time."
"Yeah, finally, we are able to see each other in public now."
"Hey, do you remember anything now about the accident?"
"Honestly none, I totally forgot about it and now it was brought up. I don't know why it has to be, but I think it played role between Trevor and me."
"I see." Dana only responds. "You're so close on finding what is true." Penelope happily nodded.
"How were your parents?"
"Still on a business trip, never bothered to call or text me." Again, Dana remained silent.
...
Penelope's dream getting clearer as the party is coming closer. She was sure that her dreams that were frequent occuring had something connected to her accident. Perhaps her lost memories are coming back? But what could they be? It is still blurry on her dreams but the voices she heard are clear. One of her dream is when she was arguing with another woman, apparently like around her age. They seemed to argue about date and the upcoming promenade party. Also, she dreamed she was in a middle of forest, a heavy storm above her. She heard a rushing footstep; the image is still blur but she can decipher that there is a man chasing a woman through the riverbank. But what Penelope creeps her out is that, there was a voice of a man, constantly apologizing to her. She didn't know what he was apologizing for, but that is crucial to Penelope to find out.
Also, she hadn't seen Trevor since that day, and she realized that she was already missing him. His cold hands but warmth body, an expressive face but shy demeanor.
Sometimes she wants to visit him, to see him again but she knows she can't break the promise. Trevor is sincere about it so there is no need to make him more disappoint. And so, another day had begun. Penelope decided to go to the principal's office to ask some questions related about the accident. Maybe the principal also knows more than anyone, so when she arrived at the door. She knocked twice but there is no answer, she assumed the principal is out for a while, so she decided to enter. The office is serene and peaceful, you can hear birds chirping outside and the sun beams throughout the office. It's awfully quiet but perfect time to rummage through her files. She approached the cabinet and finds her name on it. The folder is also in a blue color, just like Trevor. Without delay, she immediately opened the folder and almost dropped it after because of the reality she just discovered.
"oh, you're here Ms. Salvador. How long have you been- oh no." Penelope glared at him, tears forming on her eyes. Principal Wells immediately enveloped her into a hug, but Penelope broke down and throwing punches into the Principal. "Why? Why didn't you all tell me?" the principal endured all the pain as Penelope continued to punch the principal in the chest.
"Why didn't you tell me my parents are already dead?"
...
Now Penelope knows half of the story, the principal tells her what he knows. He knows her parents are already dead before the accident. They died because of a plane crush and why is she still in the academy because of the last will her parents left. Fortunately, the lawyer who is holding the last will is the Principal. That is why the reason the principal doesn't tell her anything but now she knows what happened to her parents, her heart broke once more. 'So, everything is just a lie? That I desperately to change everything to the point I started forgetting things important and hurt to me?' but it made me somehow relieved to know about my past. I really want to know what happened to the accident that made my memories lost. I want to know everything, about Trevor and all. Is he connected to me? Have we been met before? Who is he to me? And why is he appearing now?
She is crying over the corner when Dana approaches her. Her heart melts when she saw her best friend crying. What could it be this time? "Loffie! Ohmygosh, what happen?"
"Dana, I found out that my parents are dead." She hiccupped.
"Oh, yeah, your parents die in a plane crash."
"You know?"
"Sorry Loffie, I was asked to not to bring this out to you. He said it was better to just start everything out after that accident you've been through."
"You all lied! You also know about the accident, maybe you know what happened to that day? Tell me, Dana, you're my best friend, right?"
"Loffie believe me, All I heard that day was you have been seen unconsciously in the middle of a roadway, it seems that you passed out and I was at our grandparents that time."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, I'm sure of it."
...
Weeks passed and the party soon come. Everyone is hype about the part like it is the end of the world. Everybody is wasted, and some saw students making out in a dark corridor but the teachers or even the Principal doesn't even care. Their reason is that it just an adolescent's a rite of passage. But for Loffie, this is the day she will find out the truth, about everything and Trevor. She never knew time flies so fast, from the day he met Trevor, to those happy moments they've shared and cherished and up until now. She still hopes that after this, she and Trevor will finally back and forget about the past. Start a new journey to forever. When Penelope entered the party's premises, some students drew attention to her, with a weird look at their eyes and pursed lips. What's the deal with them? Penelope asked on herself as she walked towards a table located at the back end. She sat there, waits for a moment and constantly looking out for a certain brunet guy. She smiled when he emerges from the crowd, looking handsome on his attire and all. "time for you to show up."
"I'm sorry I'm late. Ha-ha" then he sat down beside her, and Penelope playfully punched him at his shoulder. Again, some students managed to give her an odd gaze by she just ignored all of it. "How was the party?"
"It's good, everyone is just wasted."
"You just described a party Loffie."
"Huh, smartass. Anyway, you are going to tell me, right? You promised." She saw his shoulder sank and sighed in defeat. "Loffie, I-" suddenly a spotlight drew on both of them and all of the students are looking at her with disgust on their faces.
"Well, well, well. Would you look at that scene? How pitiful you are looking right now Loffie. Wake up to you fucking dreamy fairytale." And then everyone laughed but Trevor kept mummed and head hang low. She looked at him waiting for him to defend her but dismayed when he kept silent. When she looked up to the source of the voice, she was shocked. She didn't expect it had to her. Her best friend, Dana. But why? She looked at her with pleaded eyes but Dana snorts. "Stop that pitiful eyes you are giving me Loffie, it's disgusting."
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"Because you are stupid!"
"Trevor?! Why are you just sitting there?! Say something!" Again, Trevor didn't move at all then she heard a snicker from Dana. "Stop those acts, Loffie. You are better than this." She can't take all this anymore. Everything is so suffocating, she needs to breathe out, so she ran towards the exit. Ignoring all the laughs and teasing she received. Trevor chases her from behind until they are finally at the forest. Just the two of them. A heavy storm seems approaching as the sky becomes darker and darker, and thunders began to rumble. Trevor stopped her, and Penelope immediately yanked her arms away.
"Why are you so coward Trevor?" she screamed in pain.
"I'm sorry. Loffie."
"Stop fucking apologizing!"
"I know but let me tell you this once, Loffie just little to me, just this once." They are both heavily crying as Loffie didn't dare to speak up after. "Let us take a picture Loffie."
"Why would you need that right now-"
"JUST take a picture." And then Penelope clicked the camera. What surprised her the most is that the picture? Trevor isn't there.
"Trevor you are- "
"Yes, Loffie"
"You are already dead?"
